The menu was primarily seafood, also not a surprise. I decided to order a salad, not really in the mood for seafood. There was roast cauliflower, steak, chicken Parmesan, and various pizzas in addition to fishy dishes. The place was also packed, so I was glad we got an outside table. I thought my salad was delicious. It had fennel and Parmesan cheese shavings over the greens. I don't know what the greens were, but everything went well together and it was a generous portion. I had second thoughts about salad when I saw the amazingly presented entrees my dining companions had selected. After starting out with a beautiful Bloody Mary, my daughter-in-law had a crumbed dory burger with chips(fries in the States). It had two fish patties coated in herbed crumbs and she said she almost always ordered it, it was so good. It looked delicious but I stuck with my salad. My son had beer-battered flathead fish and chips. It was perfect with crunchy, lightly browned coating covering flakey white fish. I snagged a few of his fries which were also perfect. Prices in restaurants are always higher than in the U.S., but how likely are we to find fish like dory or flathead on the menu? Additionally, waitstaff in Australia are paid a living wage and don't rely on tips.

Not overpriced and really rather yummy brunch & lunch options. Seating inside and out. Heaps of free parking and genuinely pleasant staff mean that I dare say we will be here more often. Having just opened before Christmas it's the new kid on the block at Woodville Road in Villawood. Right across from the epicentre of Bunnings, AMF Bowling, Skirmish, Indoor Rock Climbin, Cross Fit and Real Estate agency, it will be impossible for this place to not become a local favorite! So much familiarity with dishes like the old salmon and capers combo we love, and The Woods Pantry (TWP) is really clever not to rock the boat too much, addin little touches like the dill caper cream cheese topping, pickled onion and lemon preserve. Such minor changes with powerful flavour sensations overall in the dish. Much is the same with the Vanilla French Toast which combines caramel and passionfruit - genuis!!! Adding pistacchios into the mix we maintain the Mediterranean touch that seems to appear throuhout the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Again this is done with the old CLT which is jazzed up with lemon marinated grilled chicken breast smothered with a layer of hommus! For me, the definite favorite was the Breakfast Mezze with the many components to play with making every single bite different and better than the next. Your flatbread fillings include eggs, lebanese beef sausages, potato rosti, haloumi, marinated mushroom, labneh, and the fresh crunch and zest from cucumber, olive and tomato. Nice modern fitout with wide open spaces with a view into the busy centre complex, it's great casual hangout space that you'd definitely come back to regularly!

We started with a mini martini and goat cheese tart combo that they promoted as a bite while you decide on the menu for the night... very creative idea! We ordered a bunch of plates to share and everything was delicious but the most surprising was the kangaroo dish? As we were visiting Australia we had to order this off the menu but were not expecting it to be a raw dish like tartare. However, we were so pleasantly surprised with the taste! We shared 3 of the desserts and all of them were heavenly! Such a delicious dinner, great service, and some great people watching as well! This was a dinner I will remember for a very long time!!

This was the most highly rated restaurant in Surry Hills, and it exceeded all expectations. I cannot say enough great things about the duck slow cooked in plum sauce. It was perfectly seasoned with a bright, sweet plum glaze-- the meat was so tender that it fell off the bone. This was hands down the most delicious duck dish I have ever eaten. We enjoyed a handful of their appetizers (oyster shooters, mini pancakes with crème fresh, etc), all of which were incredible. Very grateful to our waiter for being so helpful with menu suggestions and accommodating one of the guests with a more complicated food palette. The ambience inside was intimate with low warm lightly. The music was classy and not too loud. Such a beautiful and memorable space.

Our first attempt was for breakfast a couple of months ago but because the boy doesn't like bacon or egg and the menu was limited we decided on another location. The second time was a Saturday... Yep I'd read the website which said closed Saturday & Sunday but oblivious still made my way there! We headed down this morning around 11 found a car spot right out the front (win!), made our way in and planted ourselves at a table in the sun. About 15 minutes after ordering our drinks and burgers arrived at the table... A pulled pork burger and cap for me and a cheeseburger and 50 lashes for the boy. Wow! These burgers are delicious! After trying each other's meals we devoured the rest of our own, ordered a take-away coffee and made our way home! We will be back for sure this time for the live music!
