I felt like she was more of a life coach than a tutor. His grades improved during this last year when many of his friends were commenting on how hard the senior year was. He has improved tremendously during this past year and we will miss the weekly sessions now that he is off to college. We will be checking in during his school breaks. I would recommend this to any parent whose child has or doesn't have a learning disability.

Michelle is so lovely and she really knows how to make learning fun, with many unique reading games that the kids truly enjoy. It's also great to see so many age groups working together, each being challenged according to their individual level. I wish there were an entire school based around her brand of Game-schooling!

She's also having a blast and can't wait for the next class. The incentive for reading outside of class is also brilliant, I was shocked the first time my daughter came home from WL and begged to read, "for at least an hour!" This program is genius; I give it the highest possible recommendation.

I sign up for June thinking if they don't get enough people then I have a couple more chances for my daughter to get into the class... A couple days before the june class I still haven't heard on whether or not they will hold the class. I'm told I'll hear by Saturday if they have any last minute sign ups. But I'm assured they have my info and will contact me... They don't... So I contact them back and they finally tell me they aren't having the class because they don't have enough people... At the same time they didn't even have us down for the June class, they had us assigned to August- though it made no difference and they still didn't hold it... Time passes and they cancel the other classes as well... So they never even had the class, however I am still out $119 for a class I paid for that NEVER HAPPENED. So frustrated at this company. I would stay as far away from this company as you could. Just a racket. The only positive review I see on yelp was from someone before they ever opened their operation...

Prior to Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep, my younger brother struggled with reading. Despite…read moretrying out several methods, nothing seemed to work for him as his teacher informed me that he would only answer 2 out of 38 questions correctly during his mock STAAR reading tests. During that time, he would take up the whole day whereas everyone else completed their assessments within 4 hours. Fortunately, my mother and I found Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep on Thumbstack. Chris was very quick at responding back to my emails. Within a few days, he introduced us to India. She served as my younger brother's tutor for a month up until the day before the actual STAAR reading test. Within the first meeting, she assessed my brother and determined how many hours per week he required to gain maximum help. During the tutoring sessions, she tried her very best to make it fun and interactive for my brother to learn new reading and writing skills. She also communicated with the teacher in order to accommodate her lessons with his reading performance in school. Within the third week, he successfully answered 27 out of 38 questions correctly during another mock STAAR reading test. While going over his exam, I noticed all the analytical notes my brother took alongside each reading passage. He then proceeded to tell me how they greatly helped him answer the more difficult questions. Overall, there were several aspects that I greatly liked about Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep: 1. Chris informed my mother and I about the financial matters behind their services prior to the first session with India 2. India always informed me whenever she was running late and always made up by staying in a few minutes extra 3. Compared to the more expensive tutoring services in Houston, their prices made it easier for my mother to afford additional tutoring sessions with India 4. My mother and I found it very convenient that they offer at-home tutoring sessions. India provided consistent tutoring sessions that worked well around our schedules 5. India usually supplied additional homework that further helped my brother gain reading tactics necessary to pass the STAAR test 6. Everyone from Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep are very professional and courteous. Even though we are not currently utilizing their services, they are more than willing to help out my brother during the remainder of the school year and beyond! We are currently anticipating my brother's actual STAAR reading results from TEA. We're truly hoping their services aided my brother in attaining a passing grade!

They want you to accommodate their unexpected schedules and "trial" time to find the right tutor…read more They still get compensated regardless. They will not accommodate you. Will drop your student with no warning. Oh, her husband will gossip about your student and your home life at his work (small world). I never met the man. Obviously, my family was the topic over their dinner table. Stereo typing "single" moms, making you sound irresponsible for running 15 min late, as they too had been. I'm married by the way, my martial status is none of their business. Never did I cancel a session when we were running behind, although their tutors had been late before. I've been totally involved with my daughters education. They are unprofessional. When she terminated our sessions she was not direct and made it sound like our tutor was the one who terminated the sessions. Didn't even give a warning. Bottom line, they are Not in it for the long term success of your child. They conveniently terminated on last week of school to prepare for the busy summer with students with much more sessions than we committed to. They had no regard or concern for my daughter.
