They do Gods work! No joke! Our son was struggling with writing and math. When he would get home from school my wife and I would try to help him with his homework. That didn't go over well. When we would try to teach him or tell him to fix a letter, etc, he would flip out, get angry, break his pencil in frustration. There was no way to get through to him. We didn't know what to do or where to go. As parents we were lost and frustrated. Enter GradePower. We were told about GradePower through a friend. We immediately scheduled a consultation with Gordon. Let me tell you Gordon is super nice, understanding, and knowledgeable. He listens and answer all your questions. We have scheduled check-ins with Gordon and or Nick who give us feedback on how are son is doing, showing us his work, showing us his growth but also telling us what he needs to work on. I am SO glad I waited to post this review: GradePower deserved 5 stars from the improvements we saw in my son's performance in school by the end of LAST year; but after the 1st report card THIS year, my intro "tagline" for GradePower is: "Anyone who is at all concerned about their child's performance in school should absolutely include GradePower in their child's learning!" Background: my son never really enjoying reading, struggled with writing, and was rather apathetic towards school in general. 4th grade Writing STAAR came & went, and he faired "ok," but our expectations are higher than just "ok." Come 5th grade, his grades were low B's in Language Arts and Reading. He had sights on an Academy middle school whose admission process includes writing an essay. We enrolled him at GradePower in November 2015. His personal curriculum at GradePower was geared towards success in middle school and beyond (vs specific focus on 5th grade). By the end of his 5th grade year, all of his grades improved and yet almost more importantly (to me), he CARED about his success in school. His essay writing for the Academy was absolutely successful: He was accepted! His time at GradePower ended by the beginning of 6th grade (Fall 2016). And now, the more exciting part...! We recently received his 1st report card (6th grade), and holy cow: He earned a 99 in ELAR -AP (English, Language Arts, Reading- AP course)! He absolutely LOVES school, and he attributes his successes to GradePower. As parents, it's one thing to recognize academic problems and to intervene within our own abilities and/or school tutoring programs, etc. It's another to invest in an adjunctive program like GradePower to improve the situation "right now." But, it's absolutely substantiated proof that GradePower's methods are effective when you witness the POSITIVE CARRYOVER in your child's performance and happiness in the next years! Yes, GradePower is an investment. But the investment in the lifelong success of your child: Yes, it is worth EVERY PENNY at GradePower! We no longer have concerns about my older son's success in school, but we know exactly what to if he does encounter problems. This year, the moment my younger son brought home grades that were "low," we enrolled him immediately in GradePower... may his successes result in a future update of additional praises for this awesome place! GradePower (formerly Oxford Learning Center) has been immensely helpful in giving our daughter confidence in her own abilities as a student. She has attended for going on three years now, and in our opinion her knowledge retention and writing skills have improved fa beyond what she would have done without attending the center. It's not a cram school - if you want that, you're going to have to look elsewhere. It's much more of an individualized learning program, where students progress through structured activities at their own pace and where the tutors (and administrators) work with the students in an almost one-on-one environment. Does GradePower work miracles, making every child who attends a Rhodes Scholar ready to invest the Next Big Thing or solve the Unified Field Theory? It does not. It never promises to do so. Rather, it assists students and their parents in determining where a student needs additional help, and then creates a learning program targeted to those areas. It requires a commitment on behalf of both the students, their parents, and the center in order for the system to work, but if you give it a chance and work within the structure it is a very useful program indeed. read more

My daughter needed math remediation this past summer to be ready for Algebra 1 as a freshman. Gordon and team were up for the challenge, and did a fantastic job for my daughter, who passed her math placement exam at the end of the summer and is now comfortably in her Algebra 1 class. When our son started falling behind in school, we began researching tutoring centers. After careful research we discovered Grade Power (Oxford at the time). The transition was somewhat of a challenge for our son, since by this time he was fighting us to do any schoolwork, ever. Gordon and his team were amazing at helping him close the learning gap. He had become introverted and HATED going to school. We thought he was just "one of those kids" that hates school. We were amazed by how much that changed as his confidence grew. Grade power is amazing. They have amazing teachers (Ms. Jennifer and others). My daughter was there for about 7mts before we moved to Phoenix and her grades went up in that time. They gave her the confidence and patience she needed to succeed. They are a little pricey, but Susan will work with you according to your child's needs and IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Eventhough she only attended 7mts she is carrying everything she learned to her new school and is doing amazing. Taking it one day at at time!! Our daughter attended Grade Power (then Oxford Learning Center) for more than two years (kindergarten-post second grade). We began there because reading was difficult, and testing suggested our daughter was in danger of falling very behind the norm. Our experience there could not have been more positive, and we know she is the strong reader she is today because of the cognitive therapy and tutoring she received there. They were able to pinpoint what was not happening in her brain, and then they set about to help her to learn how to process correctly, all while keeping her engaged and closing the academic gap. Gordon and Kelli are wonderful to work with, as are all the tutors. They try hard to make it a fun learning environment by hosting theme weeks in the summer and by always keeping a positive, enthusiastic attitude. The best testimony of all is our daughter's. She NEVER complained once about going to Grade Power and actually looked forward to going - even after a full day of school! The educators running GradePower Learning South are top notch! My son was struggling to prioritize his studies and do well on tests. He would miss homework assignments and was becoming disgruntled and frustrated during and after school. Gordon, Rachel and team helped him to organize his time and prioritize his school/extra curricular and social schedule. Managing his studies and schedule will help him maintain a calm attitude and good grades which will further foster his academic growth. I am looking forward to seeing his progress this 2018-19 school year. Considering he is a sophomore this year, my only regret is not getting him the help he needed sooner. I initially met with Danielle, the Education Director from GradePower, a few months ago to conference about supporting a mutual student of ours. I am a Special Education teacher at Aurora Frontier. I recently followed up to thank the Team from GradePower for their resilient efforts! In just a few short weeks of attending GradePower, my student had a new sense of confidence, a willingness to take learning risks, and just couldn't seem to get enough learning! This was amazing to see, especially from an individual whom just a short time before didn't enjoy learning because it was so stressful and difficult. After witnessing this change with a student, I just new I had to look into this organization some more. Not only so that I could learn to help my students at school, but also to help my daughter at home. GradePower has a unique learning strategy that works to improve cognitive functioning and increase learning abilities, this is not something that is taught in today's education system. My daughter will be going onto middle school next year and our biggest fear is how she will struggle to grasp concepts, get through complex reading material, and not become so frustrated that she wants to give up. For years, my husband and I have spent countless hours helping with homework, correcting tests and writing assignments, and re-teaching in hopes that she'll "get it." We have been connected with the Grade Power Learning center on William Cannon, Austin TX since more than a year. We are extremely happy with their format for teaching grammar, writing skills and life skills. Our daughter is in 3rd grade and has really struggled with school, especially reading. We had tried outside tutoring with teachers and other things to catch her up. Nothing was working. A post card came in the mail advertising Grade Power, and we called them. It is the best decision we have ever made. We stopped in and Gordon took time to explain their program. We decided to have our daughter assessed and at least see what they could offer us. My daughter's test results were what we expected. What we didn't expect, was the professionalism of the tester, the caring way the results were discussed with us and the confidence of the staff in helping our daughter. They constructed a program to help our daughter based on her individually, which can be adjusted depending on her ongoing needs. We meet monthly to see our daughters progress, and there has been a lot of it! They provide us information on her strengths and weaknesses, and give us helpful pointers on how to help her at home too. Kelli has been amazing and has taken time to actually meet with my daughter's 3rd grade teacher, to make sure they are on the same page. They also email back and forth. Kelli has actually attended two meetings at the school with me, and has been a great advocate on behalf of me and my daughter. Gordon, Kelli and their staff are willing to go above and beyond, and I could not ask for more. I am grateful I made that call to Grade Power. It has made such a difference. read more

A friend of mine told me about Grade Power because both her children had had such great experiences here as well. My 7 yr. old son was having a hard time in school. He was behind in reading and was having a really hard time in class following along to instructions. This caused him a tremendous amount of stress. He missed 6 days of school at the beginning of the year just from anxiety. Since we started Grade Power he has not missed a day of school!!! His confidence has shot way up and his anxiety level has shot way down. Gordon, Kelli & the whole team are just amazing. They have a wonderful way with the kids. I thought for sure it would be hard to get him to grade power after a full day of school, but he rarely complains. We have seen so much improvement in his reading and overall comprehension, which is great, but to see your child believe in himself a little more is worth more than anything. My son has been at Grade Power for approximately 7 months. The support here has exceeded all expectations. My son has had many evaluations done at many schools and I was very impressed with the results of the evaluation from Grade Power. Their results were very consistent with all other evaluation reports we have received. The difference is, Grade Power is actually doing something about it, and attacking my sons academic needs. Grade Power has done an amazing job identifying where my son is really struggling and have used all the necessary tools to work with him. I had a 504 meeting with my sons school, and his teacher said he would not be having the success he is having if he was not receiving the tutoring from Grade Power. Grade Power communicates with my sons teachers and wants to make sure everyone is on the same page and working on the same curriculum. Kelli and Gordon really seem to understand my son and his needs and want nothing but the best for him.. I can't say anything but wonderful things about this center. read more
