BAD EXPERIENCE -
We are not people who usually write reviews but in this case due to the bad experience and as parents who want the best for their children we have decided to share our experience with others to whom it may concern.
We decided to enroll our son at "Giggle and Grow Educare" after doing an internet search and found that this place had a good review which it made us feel confident to enroll our son in this school. Our son has always been with us and had never been before in a daycare/school, so this would be the first experience for him as well as to have the opportunity to share with others and to work in group activities.
When I met the owner (Mrs. Susan), I was very honest with her about the needs of my son and I also explained to her some of the areas in which our son needed to work and she agreed to work with him, so we felt that we had found a comprehensive and patient person and the right place for our son to start school, unfortunately that was not true at all, and now, we are very disappointed and feel deceived by this person (Mrs. Susan) who after only the fifth day of my child be attending the school (4 hours per day) she decided not to accept him anymore and suggested to us to find another place for him which was very frustrating for us and especially for our son.
We felt the owner (Mrs. Susan) could have handled this situation in a professional way and not lying to our family saying that she would help our son with his first school experience. In addition, Mrs. Susan did not had either the courtesy to consider returning the money that we have paid for the registration fee as my son only attended 5 days the school because she decided not to accept our son anymore.
After we paid the registration fee plus cost of materials as she required from us, we bring our son to his first day of school, which of course, for a child attending a school for the first time, he was scared, I guess because he missed us and at the same time he was experiencing a new place and meeting new people. After we picked up our son that day, the owner (Mrs. Susan) spoke to me and told me that I could not worry for him as this was a normal situation and it was part of the transition process.
The third day after we picked up our son, the owner (Mrs. Susan) told me that my son was doing well and she would continue giving him care and attention to help him in the transition process, so that we were very happy to hear this.
Finally, the fifth day, I was very surprised when the owner (Mrs. Susan) told me that she would not accept my son anymore because she had no time attending and caring our son and she suggested us that we should find another place for him. This situation was shocking and we feel we were treated unfairly because we trusted her and she was proceedings in an irresponsibly and unprofessional way by taking the decision, especially for someone who works with children. This situation was very frustrating for our son who was beginning to familiarize with the school, stuff and other children and of course for us as parents who trusted in this person (Mrs. Susan) .
In addition to this bad experience, on the second day that our son attended the school, we have arrived about 15 minute earlier and when the owner (Mrs. Susan) came to open the door, she told me that she could not allow entry to my son at that time because she was busy and that we should come back 15 minutes later, so we decided to wait in the parking lot. After 3 minutes waiting, we saw a father and his little son arriving to the school, and we realized that the owner (Mrs. Susan) allowed them entry after she has refused entry to our son, which was about 3 minutes before that. We were very disappointed and feel that we were treated unfairly; so that we concluded this could be a clear situation of racism and discrimination.
We believe that what happened to our family due the decision that Mrs. Susan took and the fact she lied to our family, was totally unfair as she have just denied to our son the opportunity to assimilate the process of adapting to a new place, teachers and friends and to have a smooth transition process as well, just because Mrs. Susan decided that 5 days (4 hours per day) were sufficient time for our son (who has always been with us, who had never been before in a daycare/school) to assimilate the whole process. We feel the way they have acted with our family in this particular situation, contradicts what they stated on their website, please read bellow:
