In fact it's not blessed with any. So I regularly head to this station to take the portal to the other side of the universe where there are nice beers waiting for me in far more hospitable circumstances. Ok - I have not mastered space travel or time travel, but I do really appreciate this station. I hate buses and there ain't no tubes. So it's this place that lets me escape to the other side of the city without a car and is vital for all Cambuslang locals. Trains are often late, they don't run late enough into the night and the staff ain't friendly, but it's still three stars. Tip of the week. If your going to Finneston you can make it all the way with no ticket if you pretend your asleep when the ticket collector comes round. Winner!!!

A very busy station with friendly and informative kiosk staff. The station itself is generally…read moreclean and free from graffiti, excepting the usual urban detritus. A short distance from Glasgow City Centre passangers can expect to get to Argyll Street or Central with 10 15 minutes or to the other side of Glasgow (Dalmuir) in a little under an hour. Relying on this line in the winter can become problematic due to flooding on the low level line through Glasgow although it's the quickest way to get into the city centre and very handy as such. I spent several years using this station on a daily basis to commute to and from work and found it to be well maintained and sheltered from the worst of the elements excepting vertical rain!

This is a small, 2 platform station servicing Uddingston with trains to Glasgow Central, Edinburgh,…read moreDalmuir, Motherwell and Lanark, as well as other smaller stations. It's quite a nice station. There's a large car park, as well as bike racks and it's staffed but there are ticket machines (although no barriers) available as well. The station has good accessibility and a small coffee shop on platform 1. There are flowers in baskets here and plenty of seating.

I have used this station for many years and I found that the services here have improved. There…read moreused to be only 2 trains in 1 hour but now there is 4 and 2 are an express service. Two heading into Glasgow, terminating at Milngavie and Dalmuir and two heading to Hamilton and Motherwell, terminating at Motherwell, Larkhall and Lanark. The staff here are always pleasant, I had a lovely wee chat today. The main building is small and where the ticket office is, which also contains some seating. It's located on platform 1, heading into Glasgow. If you alight, as they say in the train jargon, on platform 2 look out for the two metal African men carrying a boat, I think. Not real metal men then that would be Cybermen. Eep! Anyway, follow the path beside them and head down Station Road and this takes you to the David Livingstone Centre. There's plenty of activity happening down there as they are celebrating his 200th birthday this year. Oooft he's got old. Hehe!

Just off the queen street train station and right out the door your in the middle of the city…read more Loaded up with bars, restaurants, shopping and museums. The heart of the city center. Well it's kind of a mess right now as it's going through some major renovations. From what I've heard is things are being removed and replaced. Hopefully by the next time I've visited, it should be complete. The nice thing about this area, everything is all walking distance from each other. You can start off at a pub, move over to next. Get some shipping done, grab a meal and finish off at another pub. So many good restaurants that's all nearby. Both quick and easy places and sit down dining. Even loads of more upscale bars and restaurants. Just popping into different places and seeing what's there is really great. Major plus, with the train station ending there, it sure brings in loads of people. Daily and especially during the weekend.

Duke Street is situated on (yes, you guessed it) Duke Street in Dennistoun in the East of our fair…read morecity. It's neighbouring stations are to the North Alexandra Parade and the South, Bellgrove. As far as train stations go this one is pretty basic; it's an unstaffed station so there's no ticket/enquires office just 2 platforms and a 'HELP' button/machine thingy for times when you're standing wondering 'WTF is my train, dawg?!' Thankfully it's not a dog that answers (all the time anyway), it's a fully(house)trained member of the SPT staff. Duke Street is only marginally better than the Alexandra Parade station in that it actually has a ramp for wheelchair, pushchair/pram, roller-skate, Heelys access, but only on one side...so if you need to get to the other platform then you still need to climb all the stairs. Bit daft but as I said, still better than a lot of other stations. There's also a severe lack of benches at this station and sheltered space. Not great considering the notoriously sodden weather we are prone to here. This station is handy for all your Duke Street needs and also it's pretty close to The Forge Retail Park if you should fancy a wee jaunt down there.

Hairmyres is very handy for DFID and Hairmyres Hospital, as well as The Byre pub and other shops at St James Retail Centre. They've just started charging £1 per day to park your car! Trains run every half hour to Glasgow and East Kilbride. There's only one platform so make sure you get on the right train!

The good thing about this train station and almost all of the stations I frequent is they are very well lit at all times during the year, with plenty of CCTV to give you a feeling of safety and in the winter months they are always very well gritted I never wait more than ten mins for a train either into Glasgow or in the opposite direction to Coatbridge not a lot more to say except the view over to East Kilbride Bd beyond is nice too

Like most of the underground stations in Glasgow (with the exception of maybe Queen Street Low…read moreLevel), Argyle Street is rather grim and downtrodden, but it's in a fairly convenient location, in the central shopping district on Argyle Street (duh!), right next to the St Enoch centre and near the department stores. You walk in through a sort of tunnel, then there's a small ticket office which is usually staffed. Once you're ready, ticket in hand, you're directed down the escalator to ticket barriers - which were open and unmanned when I visited. Then you walk through a dark and dreary corridor and up another escalator to the smelly, dirty platform. Due to the amount of stairs and gates you have to go through to get this far, it's not particularly a station I would want to travel from if was in a rush or unaccompanied. There didn't seem to be any staff over on the platform which just screams dangerous to me. But it's not all bad, the man at the ticket office was fairly friendly (rare for ScotRail) and they have screens and automated announcements as to when your train is coming, but as it's ScotRail you must know that you may hear "we are sorry to announce that the x ScotRail service to x has been delayed/cancelled due to signalling problems/industrial action/some other ridiculous reason" far too often.

I know I've been through here, but I can't think when. It's not on my train-line, making it all the more baffling. As the others mentioned, there are no ticket barriers here, so like High Street and Charing Cross, you might get away with that couple of quid still in hand. Bonus! It's handy for getting to the Merchant City, and is a decent walking distance from both Central, Queen Street and High Street stations. Not bad.
