They have an assortment of products such as paint, wood stain, gardening supplies, electrical hardware, and plumbing, and cleaning supplies. I really think this is a great business to go to, and the people working there are not just there to make some easy cash. Service there is pretty good. The selection is great. They put it on a post card for the world to see, so anyone can see them and how much money it is, and take them. I imagine plenty of postal employees have been using our rebates because we have only managed to receive ONE back out of the many we have sent in over the years. They don't even require I.D. to use them. And it's only store credit anyway. Honestly wish these stores would close down so maybe Home Depot can move in. Don't even get me started on how totally shitty Menard's treated customers during Covid. I boycotted them for two years. Considering doing it again. Just hate this freakin store.

Great tool rental department with great prices. Because I live over an hour away from Terre Haute, I didn't have any reason to stop in the building…read moreto make a purchase. But while driving by on 9th Street, I couldn't help but notice this memorial mural on the south side of the building. I noticed the signature on the mural and reached out to the artist, Michael Neary. I realized Neary had a number of murals in the Terre Haute area, including the sports mural across the street from the Industrial Supply at Ballyhoo Tavern. After communicating with Neary, I found out that the mural was in celebration of the 100th year of operation of Industrial Supply in 2015. What I heard from the artist was that he met with the owners and wanted to do something that would celebrate not only the long standing service of the Company, but celebrate the people who worked with the Company and who used the products. The mural shows a number of tradesmen and tools including a pipefitter, a laborer with an axe, a drill press or router, drill bit, saw blades, welder, and an airplane. Quite a diverse number of clients being served by one company. I applaud the Company that supports local artists while preserving and celebrating their own history. I wish them continued success. The young man who appeared to be in charge, offered to have staff find my part for me, so I handed over the old part, received a new part from an older gentleman and checked out. It was the wrong size. I went back, telling the young man that I could not make the 1.5" part I was provided fit the 1.25" fitting (as it was not the same size as the part I provided for replacement), only to be thoroughly offended as he told me perhaps I needed a plumber (to replace a HAND tightened PVC sink trap). I assured him I was perfectly capable of changing out the simple part, when I HAVE the CORRECT replacement part. I showed him the original part and the wrong part, and received another trap. That did NOT fit. Both employees failed to note that the trap I provided was threaded on only ONE end and therefore gave me traps threaded on both ends. I take full responsibility for failing to check the replacement parts both times BEFORE purchase, as I had unfortunately grown accustomed to trusting the employees to know their business. After all, isn't it just a game of matching the part? Observation skills? Maybe that just can't be trained :-/ So now I had lost the time, distance, and convenience factors (thereby wasting my client's money) of going to Do It Best vs a big box store and I had been insulted. I went to the store a third time, rather frustrated, I think for good reason, only to find the young man had NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in ASSISTING me with finding the correct part. He outright told me to go to a big box store. So much for the benefits one used to find by going to the local store :-(. Truly disappointing in a store I once enjoyed going to and whose employees were always kind and welcoming. Albeit, the woman behind the counter was still friendly and the guy at the paint counter was quite welcoming. Too bad it wasn't paint that I needed that day. Perhaps some employee training, education, or rearranging can help redeem the store eventually. But customer service like that was MUCH MUCH worse than no customer service at all! In the end, I looked for and found the correct part independently at a local family owned store. If you want something done right...

This is an old school hardware store that has more actual hardware than you'll find elsewhere in…read moreBloomington. They do everything from keys (including "digital chip" key clones) to vast amounts of nuts and bolts, SAE and metric, tools, supplies, home/industrial hardware. They are not Grainger or Lee's. They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people.
