The mystery was finally solved when we went to Debra Goldstein Fine Art, thanks to Debra herself. She explained the Sculpture Ranch to us that we'd seen, and this crazy art mansion we'd passed in Stonewall, too. She even took us out in the backyard to see this 3 ton (that's 6000 lbs, readers!) dripped bronze sculpture by Mr. Johann Eyfells that he had put in Debra's backyard with a helicopter. He moved out to Johnson City about eight years ago when his wife Kristen died and never returned to their shared city of New York. How beautifully tragic. Thanks for solving the mystery, Debra, and for the brownies! It was great to meet you! The collection of chairs as art is also fabulous.

The owner also recently created an event area so it would also be a cool place for a party.

Y'all, Sherry at the front desk is the sweetest human being ever AND she really goes out of her way…read morefor the guests here. Came here with my husband & kids and our service dog in training for my disabled husband. She politely let us know that we couldn't bring him in because we didn't have proof. I'm not one to argue so I said that's okay and went and sat outside while my husband & kids went and explored. She came out about 10 mins later to talk to me and was like, "I just researched and you're absolutely right you do not need to have any proof so you're more than welcome to come in with him." Of course she wanted us to just be mindful of his behavior which I absolutely understand and luckily he's such a great well behaved dog. But sherry, the fact that you were so polite and went out of your way to educate yourself to ensure you're giving proper information is how we all should act. I kept outside because I'd rather respect the businesses establishment but I just hope you know how much It truly meant to us that you did that AND came to talk to me outside. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We're very patient and would have appreciated even a simple "We'll be right with you." Instead, watching another table receive service before ours was frustrating and unacceptable. Our server was a tall young man with longer hair and an accent. He seemed to spend more time walking around than actually attending our table. This was our family's last dinner together and it was sad to see such a gorgeous place make us feel like we didn't matter. Based on this experience, I won't be recommending this restaurant or returning. I can't say anything about the resort or wine itself, but if we were treated this way at the restaurant I wouldn't like to see how they treat actual guests if you don't meet their expectations.

Last night I bought a bottle of bourbon barrel wine & hubby bought a 6pk of their beer & we played dominoes in the common area. We had burger & fries and margarita pizza while listening to live music. The villas are cozy & the beds are better than mine at home. Even though we live 4 hours away, we joined the wine club for the perks. Worth giving this place a try!!!!

As part of the Passport wine tasting, we were offered 4 different wines plus a small food pairing including toasted Cuban bread, Spanish Chorizo, Brie, Onion Bacon Jam and homemade Fudge. Everything was delicious and wine so smooth. I don't normally like Rose Wine but Barbara (owner/wine maker) did a great job, for all their wines. We learned a lot about wines and the vineyard during the food and wine tasting. Mark was so informative and a wealth of knowledge. We felt so special during our visit. Even though I have hundreds of bottles of wines at home, I left with 3 bottles. If you have not been, you should definitely stop by. In fact, there will be another Texas Wine passport event in late March to late April. We will definitely come back!!
