This place takes you back to the days of men going to the barber shop to get a hair cut and a shave…read morewith the hot towel experience. It's tucked in off the main road a bit but you will see the old style barber light out front. I had heard of this place second hand from another mama with a son who falls on the spectrum along with Leighton who has away of connecting to people that set them at ease. My son is 13 years old but haircuts are still an issue. If you don't have a child or aren't on the spectrum it is hard to explain. This is very difficult for them on the best day. My son started off as he always does shoulders drawn not communicating & apprehensive as a body can get in that moment. He knows he is a young man and desperately wants to control what he is feeling but he simple just increases his anxiety. Here is where Leighton came in and worked his magic. He connect with my son and got him talking on a subject he was very interested in. I watched my son transform in front of me during that cut to a tense withdrawn child to a confident young man who helped his Dad settle the bill with a tip he thought was fair! I was almost in tears! I've never in my son's days on this earth seen him sit still that long little on enjoy a hair cut to the point he automatically said he wants to come back. Now Leighton may not have a degree in child psychology or not sure if he has felt with this in his own family but if you or any of you family have those feelings when it comes to cuts, please call this place! I really think Leighton just gets people & cares about those that trust to sit in his barber chair. We will be back!

Been going to places like Great Clips for years. Got tired of different people cutting my hair…read moredifferently every single time. Discovered Public Square Barbers in Gallatin about 8-10 months ago. I wish I was going here sooner. Atmosphere is excellent. There is beer and other drinks available if interested. If you have to wait a few min from being a walk-in, no big deal to chill and chat for a few. All the people are easy to talk to. First time I had an appointment, randomly chose K.C. As I sit in the chair, some how we start talking about something not politically correct and I hesitate to say anything else because people get their feelings hurt so easily these days. K.C. says we can talk how we want and people need to accept it. I knew this was the right place after that. Crazy you can get a good quality haircut and have a good time simultaneously. K.C. at the Gallatin location is top tier and it's a real shame he won't relocate to TX when I move. I almost want to deduct a star for that.

I went in on my lunch hour and the lady barber was just finishing up another customer and called me over as soon as she'd cleaned up. I sat down and explained I wanted a basic businessman's cut and she got to work. A short time later, I emerged with a nice, balanced cut. And as an extra touch, once they shave your neck, you get a hot towel! If you haven't experienced that, maybe it sounds silly but boy, does it FEEL great! Price was reasonable: $20 for the cut. If you combine other services like shampoo or beard trim, they offer package deals. Couldn't be happier.
