By far, the best veterinary surgical center, and let me tell you why: I took my pup to two…read moredifferent Vets for surgical consults near my house, but I didn't have much confidence with my local vets because I felt rushed at those appointments and they barely checked my pup before printing out an estimate. When I brought her here to Mid-Michigan, Dr. Creighton did an incredibly thorough eval. She was able to remove some tissue for biopsy prior to the surgery, and that helped my pup a lot. The mass calmed down and stopped bleeding which made it more tolerable for my sweet Sprite while waiting for surgery day. Sprite has a grade 3/4 heart murmur and the team adjusted accordingly for her. Surgery went really smooth and Sprite came through the door wagging her cute little bandaged tail with no problems. Dr. Creighton also helped us out of a jam with scheduling. We had a vacation planned and she was able to squeeze us in quickly so that our pup would have time to heal and I wouldn't have to cancel our trip. The estimates we received from other Vets were three times the price. We live 3 hours away and it was worth the drive. I will come here for any of Sprite's surgical needs in the future. Dr. Creighton took the time to truly evaluate Sprite by manually feeling the mass, performing a biopsy, asking important questions about her health history, and coming up with a plan for her surgery. Sprite is normally a very anxious, nervous dog who hates the vet, but when Dr. Creighton evaluated her, she felt at ease and behaved very well. I am grateful for the Mid-Michigan Surgical​​ Referral center and Dr. Creighton and her team. They will take amazing care of your pup! Do yourself a favor and if you are debating where to go....come here! You won't regret it.

It was difficult to find a veterinarian and office our family clicked with after our beloved vet retired. The reasons I trust Dr. Botsford and staff with my wonderful animals are #1. When my animals have an actual medical problem, Woodland fits them in. They are compassionate and quick. It's important to me that my animals are seen by the same vet that has their history when they need medical attention as is inevitable. Background setting is behind the office desk. No costumes or poses. UNPRETENTIOUS! When we look for a Doctor to take care of our animal children, we don't need pictures with Santa or all that fluff! Our dog had been a patient for years here. The younger vets were great for regular care, but the…read morelast time he was there when we noticed something was wrong he had to see Dr. Swannebeck because she was available. She did some "thorough testing" and said we had to wait until we could get in for an MRI. After a few days he just kept getting worse and she said we had to wait until we could get a better picture from the MRI in a couple weeks. I finally called and asked if MSU ER would be a better option because he was going downhill fast and she said sure. An hour at MSU and they told us he had cancer throughout his body and probably wouldn't make it thru the night. They told us that with an ultrasound which she said she did and couldn't see anything. They were absolutely right. Within four hours he was in horrible condition and we had him euthanized in the morning. No phone call or anything from Swartz Creek to see what happened or they were sorry for our loss. I still get emails to remind me to make his next appointment or order him medicine, even after calling corporate. Would not recommend.
