They've also got these cement (or some sort of stone anyway) tables and chairs that are built into the ground. They are great for stopping to chill and have a snack or for playing chess. One of my favorite things about this park is that the big kids section and younger kids playground are pretty well separated as well as fenced in so you don't need to worry about your toddler running off and disappearing. The toilet here is pretty crap ngl but hey, at least they have a toilet st all. Look out for the birds in the summer. They will stare you down and follow you like you're treading on their turf and it's pretty damn intimidating haha RUN!!!

My husband said the bathrooms were heated which was pretty cool. The park is right next to Lynn elementary and there is a ton of grass and walking areas around, including a soccer field. I think there was a basketball court as well but don't quote me on that. It's a great place to take your dog for a long stroll without feeling as crowded as some trails like Shelley lake can be.

So I took the privilege of adding it myself and attaching some great photos. This park is fairly big. It includes 3 separate playgrounds for kids, one being more slides and swings for the babies with sand. Also, a one hoop basketball court, a soccer and/or football field? A small baseball field with a ring around which I saw a gentleman running on. Lastly, a sidewalk on the perimeter of the park for a long walk. They have a hut with picnic tables and I believe I saw a BBQ pit. Very dog friendly. Will be coming back for a picnic one of these days.

It looks like they have updated some of the equipment, which is nice. The location is kind of hidden, its in a residential area, tucked away. They have a basketball court, baseball fields and play equipment including swings. The landscaping is not a neat as the other nearby parks, so its hard to give more than 3 stars. The city does host a 4th of July festival here every year as it has lots of space. Overall, its a cute little park that never gets very busy.

Yesterday, however, we…read morewere able to experience the walking trail a brand-new playground for the first time, and were really disappointed. The walking trail was fine, clean, and a little hilly. There were a lot of people and well-behaved pups on leashes enjoying the beautiful weather. However, the actual paths were covered in a thick carpet of pine needles, so people were slipping and sliding everywhere (in dry conditions). I would think there's a way for trees to be pruned so as to provide for a safer walking trail (see Lake Lynn's trail for an example). My primary issue was with the new playground. Whoever designed and selected it does not have children. And has never been around children. I think the only kids who would enjoy it are 8 year olds without their parents nearby to stop them from climbing to the top of the structures and jumping off. The floor is that rubberized mat, which is nice. There's a large swing for multiple kids to use, which is fine but often not super popular. No regular or baby swings, which is a bummer. The structure for little kids is barely adequate - basically just a couple of platforms and a spinning toy that seemed to contain trash and a couple of balls. No slides, covers, puzzles.... really anything interesting. I'm not sure if the play structure is more an abomination or an art piece not meant to be played with, but it's certainly bizarre. The only slide has NO sides to prevent one from falling - it's just a steep piece of metal designed to cause harm. The other thing that looks like a slide from behind is for climbing, and has a railing straight down the middle. Why not on the side? I cannot explain. There are lots of rope webs for climbing, which will prove fun for some kids. But the platforms are not practical for standing or climbing, and it's mostly simply an unusable hazard.

They have a large community building which was open for people to use the restroom. They have two play structures and a swing set, all set atop a squish foamesq material. There is also a basketball court and a large dog park. Parking was easy, it seemed like most people had walked or rode their bike there, they are in the middle of a neighborhood and a Greenway stop. One play structure was designed for kids aged 2-5 and the other was for older kids. My son loved the baby swings! We will definitely head back to this playground again soon.

Kiwanis Park is a great place to park and run/bike/walk on the Capital Area Greenway. It is a huge…read morespace and includes a playground, large open field and a baseball fields (there's a additional huge gated open field through the trees heading towards the greenway), a basketball court and posts for a volleyball court. There's a large covered picnic area capable to seat 36-60ppl with 5 tables, 2 grills, $9/hour to rent but no electricity (Mami Nora's is down the street, so you could take your meal to go and eat it outdoors here!) The park includes a neighborhood center with a meeting room large enough to hold 85 people, rentable for $50/hour (which includes warming kitchen, tables and chairs). Overall, it's a good park, it seems to be a popular place to park and eat lunch on weekdays and a safe place to park and utilize the greenway.
