First time (and possibly last time) buying from Toyota Kingston. Car is great, not a slight on the brand. Sales: We walked in from the street, knowing what we wanted, took very little time to decide, and purchased the car with minimal fuss - was told we didn't need winter tires because this car came with 'all season' tires which were adequate for winter (I'm not a Canadian and I'm quite trusting of expertise - so that cost me $2K last month when I realized winter tires are named that for a reason). When we came to collect, we found the experience to be rushed, On pickup, sales guy was running late to pick kids up, rushed the plates on our $60K car, and told us to work out the tech package as it was intuitive. I felt completely flat about this experience. Winter tire fitting: So - got to dealership at 7:30am, shuttle went 'everywhere', including East. Driver was a legend, but I could tell he was upset about this too - I got to work at 10:20am, having cancelled an important meeting. First service: Rude lady on the phone - I asked for someone else, who wouldn't be barking down the phone at me, she is the only service coordinator. She kept asking which service I wanted, I told her I was responding to the notification that my car gave me. She then asked for milage, which I gave pretty accurately, and she told me I must be mistaken. Shocked. This place is a sh*tshow. The only shimmer of light was the finance guy (who'd just moved to Toyota from Chevy) - that guy was great, but can't remember name. I think there's a Toyota garages in Belleville, in Napanee - hell - go to Ottawa... These small town chumps are the worst. read more

I bought my new to me 2017 Rav4 directly from Kingston Toyota (Summer 2021) - wanting to do it all correctly and buy the car I have wanted for the last 5 years! I was buying direct, certified and was ready to baby it and treat it like gold! I negotiated a Winter Tire package with Toyota. I asked what kind of winters I would get (I like to research) and they let me know they buy in bulk closer to winter, so he didn't know yet. I would also get a set of steel rims, which is nice for switching my own tires out later. Fast forward to last week and I went to get my new tires and rims. It was dark when I left and I simply drove home. When I woke up I was greeted by the deeply pitted rust on my rims - all 4! Not to mention, upon helpful inspection from others, the tires were over 7 years old, with manufactures recommending ~6 seasons, and transport Canada 10. The tread depth seemed fine, which is why I didn't go digging for the tire age at first. I emailed the GM and was obviously angry and wanted to know what they would do about it. He told me this was a "used tire package" they basically grab old tires and rims from trade-ins and resell them. The SKU didn't say used, and they never ever said they would be used. I am certain of that because I would have insisted on new. I worked hard to get this new-to- me SUVI have waited years for, I wasn't gonna put rusty junk on it. He is now ignoring my emails after telling me he wouldn't help. I have filed a complaint with Toyota but they said they can't help. I have filed with the BBB, but that takes time and they aren't a member anyway. This speaks nothing of my negative sales experience, where frankly if it wasn't such a good deal I simply would have (should have?!) walked out. But one problem at a time! TLDR; bought new to me car with winter tire package. They put rusty rims with the winters and they refuse to correct it claiming it was a used tire package. read more

Great parts department! Just want to shout out to Robert. I've been in the collision industry for almost 30 years, I can tell where the good parts departments are and where the shitty ones are. From the time I walked in the young lady at the service counter had a welcoming smile and a hello, the cashier was so nice and then there's Robert, I hope the GM reads this because service like this is why trades people like me come back. I've been to Brockville to buy parts because the parts department in Kingston was so hard to deal with. Wife bought a 22 4runner, sales was great as well, I don't know how the service department is because this 4Runner is like a tank! Far too often all we do is bitch about poor service and never about good service, just want to say thank you for being good people at Kingston Toyota. read more

I've been to several car dealerships, but I have to say that Kingston Toyota was the worst car shopping experience ever. After waiting for what felt like an eternity for service, the sales associate was rude and condescending. It was obvious that he was trying to rush us out the door. When I asked for a detailed breakdown of the costs, interest rates, payment terms and trade-in value for my vehicle, he became frustrated. He acted like he was doing me a favour by selling me a truck. He repeatedly asked, "do you want the truck or not?" He reluctantly provided the breakdown that I requested. When I said that I would like some time to look it over, he indicated that it was confidential information and could not leave the showroom. What are they trying to hide? I booked my tundra in for service 2 weeks in advance. Dropped the truck off at 8:30 and at 4:00 they informed me it would not be ready to drive that night as they were missing a washer! They assured me the part would be in the next morning. When I asked how I was to get home (a 1/2 hour away) they suggested I rent a car or get a cab. By 3:00 the next day I still had not received a call saying it was ready. When I ended up calling them, I was told it would not be ready until 5:00. When I requested a pick up from my work, they said I would have to come now (3:30) and sit in the office until 5:00 or find my own ride! read more

Bought a used Venza from this dealership. I also purchased brand new winter tires which they installed for me and the summers were left loose for me to store. When I had the tires switched in the spring my mechanic told me that the summer tires would need to be replaced and that I should get one season out of them. I immediately called Kingston Toyota and informed them about what my mechanic had said. I was told that they had to speak to the sales manager and they would get back to me. After 2 weeks I called again and left a voicemail. I then received an email saying that there was nothing they could do. I then called the sales manager and was told to bring the car in. When I did their mechanic measured the tread depth of the tires at 3/32, 4/32, 4/32 and 4.5/32. The minimum safety is 2/32 and recommended change depth is 4/32. The sales manager eventually offered to change one tire but said that was all he would do. I asked to speak to the General Manager, Brian Stuart, who was the biggest bumbling fool I've ever met. How this man runs a business I do not know. After quite a bit of back and forth he eventually offered to give me 4 new tires at cost. I informed him of the sales manager's offer was to replace the one tire at no charge to which he replied, "that is not my offer, you should have taken his". Not knowing that his mechanic had already measured the tread depth of the tires, he retrieved a card that the dealership uses to measure the tread depth of lease returns. Their minimum allowed depth on returns is 3.3/32. When the one tire failed his test he kept moving the card to different spots on the tire attempting to find a spot that would pass. I then informed him that his mechanic had already measured the depth of all the tires and according to his test at least on of my tires fails. I asked for one tire replaced at no cost and 3 at cost. He said no and turned and walked away from me. When I questioned what he was doing he didn't answer and went up to his office and didn't return. I have never in my life received such poor customer service or have ever dealt with such an incompetent manager. I will never recommend Kingston Toyota and will always speak negatively of them. read more
