We were in the area so decided to stop by King's restaurant. The service was great. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They stopped by our table frequently to make sure we had what we needed and that the food was good. I enjoyed the food, packed with flavors and came out sizzling and hot.

King's Restaurant was delicious for an authentic Korean dinner tonight. The deep fried chicken with spicy garlic sauce was so yummy and perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and very quick. I ordered to-go and waited for only about 15 mins. Inside was clean and tables were ready to be seated.

Yum yum yum!! Haven't been here for quite some time and I'm so glad to be back! Super clean, very friendly staff and amazing food. I ordered the kimchi pancake to start. It is fried lightly and is a thin layer of amazing fresh kimchi. It comes with a soy sauce based dipping sauce. It is a large plate so plenty for leftovers. So delish!! I also ordered the stir fried glass noodles with pork and vegetables. That dish comes with several sides to top it yourself. Fresh and tasty! Stop by and enjoy this delish Korean food! Def recommend!

Definitely a gem! The seafood pancakes were crispy, which i liked. The bulgogi and haemul soon-dubu were delicious and hit the spot, although there wasn't as much seafood as other spots, I didn't mind. The servers were also super nice! You get two free rounds of bonchon and there's a charge for the third but my husband and I only needed two rounds. We came in at 7 on a Friday and it was quiet originally, but definitely started to get busier later on. It's clean, nicely spaced out and definitely a spot I'd come back to. I wish they still did their ayce!

Service was decent esp for a Korean restaurant. First time there, food was tasty. My niece's first Korean food experience. It was enjoyable.

Galbi - 3-Bone beef grilled short ribs marinated in soy sauce (10/10) flavor was just phenominal.

I come to Kings for the beef short ribs, and it sure didnt disappoint yet again. I figured I would try a few other things, Bibimbap in a hot stone bowl didnt really have much flavor and just wasnt worth it but everything else was great. Service was quick and helpful. Restaurant is in a strip mall in fridley so its convenient, and its a simple restaurant with a chill ambiance.

The food was delicious! The service was also very good. The entire restaurant (including the ladies room) was very clean. I will definitely return!

Was actually shopping next door, but was very hungry and I decided to stop by here. I had pretty low expectations of this place because I've tried other Korean restaurants that wasn't good. To my surprise this restaurant was actually to my liking. I came around lunch hour and it was super dead empty. My husband and I had gotten steamed shrimp and pork dumplings, gal-Bi and bulgogi. Ngl, but the sweetness of the bulgogi was on point. I loved for the fact that I can taste both of the beef and slightly of the sweetness, coming through when I chew that beef. The sweetness of the bulgogi wasn't overpowering or less seasoning, it was just perfect to my liking. Another thing I also love is the seasoning on the side dishes. I've had some side dishes either uncooked or overcooked and thats a no no for me. But this place did what I liked. The seasoning was just about right almost too good to be true. Not too sour or bitter but just enough where I can taste that hint of flavor. Cleaningness was pretty clean. No mess whatsoever. Prices were expensive, but knowing how expensive grocery items are, I wasn't surprised by that. Service was super fast knowing we're the only customers there. Definitely will come back to this fine dining restaurant.

I've been recommending this restaurant to anyone who will listen. This is the best Korean food in the Twin Cities - every dish is so delicious and flavorful and well made. My favorite entrees are the fried chicken, galbi, and the beef and octopus soups. If you dine in the multi-person soups are served on a portable burner so you can have piping hot soup. The price may look steep but there is enough soup for 3-4 people comfortably. So delicious and addicting. The seafood pancake and kimbap here are also absolutely delectable. Plus they come with a generous helping and selection of side dishes. Kind of out of the way of the cities but 100% worth the drive. It's kind of part of a strip mall area with a parking lot in front of it. Since I've found out about it I've gone multiple times and spend maybe a concerning amount of time thinking about the food. Definitely my current go-to place for Korean food

Probably one of the best japchaes in the state and yes,,they took out the onions. Sometimes the onions overbare the taste of everything else. Tip: see above. Dislike: Not gonna lie, I actually love ice water. They don't give you ice here anymore. Taste: 5/5

Their food quality is at its worst, which makes me wonder if Dong Yang, K-bob, or Dong Hae is better than them now.

Ask the Community - King's Restaurant

When do they have the buffet?

Everyday! 11:00-1:30 sometimes later if it's busy

Somehow staff doesn't know what's in their buffet, & I've seen conflicting accounts here so I thought I'd see if someone knew for a fact. Does the buffet include tuna & salmon sushi or is it just shrimp and various rolls? Other food looks nice too.

It's changed everyday. I have seen several times tuna and salmon. However I can say from experience that most people who go to the buffet prefer the cooked rolls VS the raw. This is a much more quality vs quantity buffet. Gives you a chance to try… Read more

I think the wings come with white rice. The staff was friendly. They gave me a free plain mochi donut that was from Te'Amo. I am very particular about my Japchae, and this was delicious. I literally ate everything that was in the Japchae. The sauce was good. The fried chicken was juicy. I had sauce on the side. You can pick 2 sauces. The options were plain, soy, spicy, and danmae. Despite the sauces, I liked it plain--is that crazy of me? Anyway, I definitely will be coming back.

The staff is very friendly and attentive which makes it a welcoming experience. We always go for the soy garlic sauce on the KFC, it is by far our favorite. The chicken is always good sized, juicy, and the sauce blends perfectly. Just an FYI, the wings are split into two pieces, the flat and the drummie. That will count as two pieces when calculating the piece count. We have not tried any other dishes because we love the chicken so much! You can't go wrong with Korean Fried Chicken!

We also split a happy hour burger and each had a hand roll - they serve it fancy with a plastic sheet above the seaweed to avoid sogginess (didn't catch a pic of this but presentation was very nice!) The showstopper was the local vanilla ice cream with sesame oil (a nice twist on the olive oil on ice cream trend) and Maldon sea salt flakes. Truly such a simple yet exquisite dessert. Service: we sat at the bar and service was friendly and attentive. Our bartender/servers let us know about the happy hour and suggested a great grapefruit NA drink. Ambiance: it's a quaint and modern looking bar. Overall it's approachable but probably not great for a large group without a reservation or private party.

The food is mostly good, although there is something missing still that could make this restaurant truly one of the best in the state. Still, it's a great night out, especially if you like Korean and/or Chinese food. Here's a rundown: The food: First and foremost, Minari has special menus to meet many dietary restrictions. Not just symbols on one menu, but different menus depending on your restrictions. That's amazing. We ordered off of the Dairy Free (DF) menu, which does include a lot of their dishes from the regular menu. The Szechuan Ribs were my favorite, they are exquisite. The KFC wings are good too, although they could have used a bit more sauce (I am used to Korean-style wings being pretty saucy). The pork jowl was good but did not have quite enough gojuchang flavor. The accompaniments that came with it were awesome, especially the sauces. The bonchon need some work; I would love to see more traditional bonchon, ours had a couple "fusion" type dishes that were a little too contemporary for us. The drinks: The Minari Old Fashioned was AWESOME, a great drink (and the rice cracker was great too). Highly recommend this. The service was some of the best in the metro. From entering (where the host stand will make sure you have appropriate menu(s)), to the server, who was perfectly attentive and very knowledgeable about every dish, including dietary issues, to the complimentary tea and birthday sparkling wine, I can't say enough about the service here. The only weird thing is the dim sum, I would actually just put the dim sum dishes on the menu and bring them out on demand. The ambiance was really nice, and the bathrooms were clean. The final thing I would say is that I think that Minari could benefit from making their Korean dishes a little bit more traditional...as I mentioned earlier, small touches like making the wings a bit "saucier," more gojuchang flavor on the dishes that feature it, and more traditional bonchon would all be great. Still, this is a phenomenal place to dine/drink in NE Minneapolis, and if you like Korean and Chinese food, you will not be disappointed!

It was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot, so the server explained the menu and took our drink order. He also informed us where we could find the sauce bar (near the entrance) if we wanted sauces. Good. We ordered and received the Hot Pot bases and all of the toppings relatively quickly. The server turned on the bbq pit thing in the center of the table once the proteins arrived. Great! The table ordered Original, Miso, Kimchi (best favor), and Tom Thai. Most of the flavors were bland at best, except the Kimichi, which was too spicy for most of the table but it was tasty! Bc I was sharing a pot with someone that can't tolerate spicy, I didn't get that base. We tried the soup bases. Meh... Everyone added proteins and veggies to their soups. 6 out of 7 people were disappointed with the hot pots. The common complaint was "this doesn't have flavor." We had two 10 years that enjoyed watching the squid tentacles curl in the soup but not the soup, specifically bc it was bland. This was true for most of us at the table. The beef, chicken and pork all had a mild fishy taste but lacked beef, chicken, or pork flavor. I cooked the protein on the little table grill with chopsticks (we weren't provided with tongs) but again, no flavor. I went to the sauce bar for the table (I found the tongs there). We were told about the sauce bar but not about the tongs, which made my personal experience laborious bc I was one of two people decent with chopsticks at our table. Anyways, sauce bar. Got sauces. Sauces didn't help cover the fish taste. Nor did the sauce help the already cooked protein taste good. The ambiance was smoky, probably due to the grills on the table but of our guests had to leave bc the smoke gave him a headache. The started off nicely but as the meal progressed the server never came to refill drinks or inquire about our meal. He didn't provide recommendations to get the best experience and he didn't provide serving utensils. All in all, I don't recommend. I would like a refund but based on the lack of serve (especially knowing this was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot), I didn't feel comfortable saying anything and I didn't feel like being upset. We just decided to not return and leave a review. Passive, yes, but the experience remained underwhelming not overwhelming. ALSO, you get ice cream bars at the end of your meal! They didn't tell us that! But I saw so many other guests eating them and we were still hungry, I asked if they were included in our PREMIUM DINNER. Ice cream was included. No one told us until we asked. We spent close to $300 dollars for this meal and we received subpar serve and subpar fishy food. I don't recommend.
