Still a novice in the trade. Issues were identified but not resolved. No-showed me twice when he said he would correct the issues.

We were very clear that the carpet was being installed on the 2nd floor and the rooms are large, which they knew. The installation crew of 2 people, a man and woman, arrived as scheduled (8am) and began removing the carpet. The shock came when I saw that the man was putting the old carpet/padding through the window and onto the roof. After there where 4-5 rolls of the old carpet/padding on the roof, he climbed out of the window and threw them to the ground. Frankly, I about had a stroke! Not only was that extremely dangerous but was not good for my 2 year old roof. Then they tried to move the new carpet out of the truck but it was too heavy for the 2 of them to move, so my husband and I helped them get it out. They cut the carpet for the largest room (20x17) rolled it up and the man carried it up the flight of stairs to the room and dropped it. It hit the floor so hard that it knocked a picture off the wall downstairs and shook the entire house. I ran to be sure no one was hurt but he didn't look at all concerned, but he didn't carry additional pieces upstairs until additional help arrived at about 1pm. They continued putting old carpet/padding on the roof and then throwing them off. They worked quickly laying the carpet and putting things back. They clearly were not coming back on Friday morning to finish putting things back or clean up the debris in our yard. Perhaps, we made the mistake of moving things into one room to save time. The carpet does look nice but I'm not sure that it will stand the test of time; only time will tell...

We cannot express how pleased we are with our experience with Brooks Flooring, Inc. From our initial phone conversation with Phil, to our showroom visit with Julia, to the actual installation, everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable and timely. All our questions and concerns were addressed and alleviated. We never felt pressured and everything was scheduled to our timeframe. Brooks Flooring was there every step of the process, including the installation. And what great installers they have. Juanfer and his crew are true craftsmen when it comes to flooring installation, taking the time to achieve perfection. If you are looking to get new flooring, contact Brooks Flooring. They will not disappoint.

The floor, which we paid an additional upcharge of $14,000., looks so bad, guest ask us when we're changing the floor! There are ripples and waves, adhesive, unfinished edges and men's size 8 or 9 workbook footprints all over! Yes, they were contacted. They sent out a girl with a broom, then covered my floors with Heritage House plastic coating, ultimately costing us hundreds of dollars to get the shiny, yellowish film off our floors. That did not help. Then they sent a guy over who mopped a patch of flooring and dropped off a box of planks. Great! What's a 70+ woman supposed to do with that??? Never have we been treated with such little respect as clients. Our tile floors were supposed to have gray grout, someone decided unsealed white would be better. Now we have to regroup three bathrooms and a laundry room, as all the unsealed has yellowed Plus they put the wrong tile in the shower floors and did a very unprofessional job at that. Never ever have we seen a company with such little service, respect or appreciation for their client. They hire non English speaking installers who, by the quality of the finished product, have little or no experience or just don't care. If you want your money's worth try someone else. Yellowed.

I was skeptical as they are the only contractors Lumber Liquidators refers to but I can understand why they maintain that referral relationship: SW Contractors are top notch. Our job was an involved one as we were ripping out tile and carpet throughout our downstairs and putting down hardwood in the kitchen, living, two closets, hallway, bathroom and entryway. Steve came to the house and was able to give a detailed (and pretty competitive) quote right then and there. We had some tight scheduling issues as I wanted the rest of the family out of the house for the install. Laura, the business/office manager, worked with me to get our project scheduled on exactly the days I needed. The crew of three arrived and immediately got to work. By mid-morning, they already had ALL the demo done! Jose, William and Eduardo were fast and meticulous - even taking extra (unexpected) steps to minimize the mess (which, if you've ever removed tile, you know there is a LOT of mess!) They hauled away all of their waste when they were done, too and even kept their work area neat between project days- something I didn't expect but really appreciated. I LOVE my new floor. We went with the taller baseboards as Steve recommended and the finished product is gorgeous, contemporary and SO clean! Laura was even helpful in getting some questions answered for me after the install was finished and emphasized that they would be more than happy to come take a look at anything should I have any concerns.

It took them over a year to finally come out and address the problem. When the technician arrived, he ended up breaking several additional planks while attempting to replace the damaged ones, leaving much of the floor still unresolved. Now, a year later, the same areas they "fixed" are once again warped, peeling, and completely distorted. Their customer service has been beyond frustrating--calls and messages go unanswered, and they never follow through. At this point, I am seriously considering legal action to recover the nearly $9,000 I spent because this experience has been unacceptable. This has been one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Honestly, you would be better off hiring someone outside Home Depot than trusting this company with your flooring.

Details: Full home two-level hardwood floor re-sanding/staining/polyurethane sealing ("3 coats"). A 15k job; 7-figure value home. So, (should be always, but) extra attention to make sure all is right? No, unfortunately. Step 1: all shoe molding comes out (to be replaced new after floor work done) Step 2: floors sanded, stained, 3 polyurethane coats Step 3: new stained shoe molding installed **LAST: project manager/job foreman inspect finished project before getting payment? NOPE. PROBLEMS (x3): I followed project progress, and noted the stair-work was a day behind the rest of the floors. No worries: but I'll check stairs especially well at the end. We are told the project is done and we can walk on floors. Timing seems "too soon," and I am suspicious as to whether they put 3 poly coats on stairs. (1) I immediately notice the polyurethane coating was lacking on the two sets of stairs. Casual inspection made readily apparent that the clear coat was thinner than on the floors elsewhere. I contact owner Josh, who reiterated that he was told 3 coats were there. Josh added that "the lighting" can affect the appearance." I invited him to "re"-assess himself. He *does* offer immediately to have them put on another coat. They do this days later. (2) Then, after work done, and payment given, I inspected home with realtor. We saw several areas of uneven sheen and thickness throughout the main floor the polyurethane thickness. There appeared to be thicker areas of application, and thinner layers applied elsewhere. We reach out again, and were told that these were "uneven drying" issues. He agrees to re-apply on the main level, and they *do* follow-through. (3) Thereafter, I inspect the entire project again, and note improvement on the above two issues. I do note, *very frustratingly,* a ~24" span of a curved short wall where shoe molding was replaced. Instead of using a curved piece of shoe-molding (as had been there before), IT WAS SHODDILY REPLACED WITH TWO *STRAIGHT* PIECES of shoe-molding (see photo), with the expected gaps between the straight molding and the curved wall readily apparent. I texted owner Josh on this 3rd issue, and asked for correction and explanation. Josh would not give an explanation. Only, "we will fix it." Josh told me that I "need to talk to Patrick about when he's doing molding. What? So the company OWNER is telling the customer to coordinate the corrective work of his employees? Uh, okay. Well, "Patrick" did fix it, in the end. My realtor (who had referred them) probably gave the company heat about future referrals. So it *is* now fixed. But here are my problems with Floor Gurus: (A) when the employee was removing shoe molding, he ought to have noted the short curved wall, and SAVED the shoe molding for reuse there, OR discussed issue with job foreman for instruction, not be on "auto-pilot." Doing so would have saved the work of having to soak the wood in order to mold the piece well, etc. (B) with our two notable prior problems, the job foreman/project manager/owner should have had us "dead center" on his radar to "re"-inspect the project to insure no further mishaps. This clearly did not occur. This is top-level customer care that one ought to expect on any project, but especially for a 15k project in a 7-figure home. (C) Beyond that, the project manager or owner (Josh) should have (a) run through the home FIRST to see issues (like curved shoe molding) and instructed workman to save that piece, if apropos. These matters ought to be things they've run into before (work smarter, not harder?) AND, (b) personally inspected the job AFTERWARDS so that HE (not me and my realtor) catches the issues that arise. THEN they are managed BEFORE we note it. This clearly was NOT done. (D) When I brought this last issue up with the owner, Josh, I asked for an explanation, and expected him to validate our issues, *OWN* his mess up, and then *LEARN* from the experience, to improve his own business/employer's business. Were I him, I would have stated, "you're right on all points. We will get it all right for you, and furthermore, thank you for sharing these details with me. I will meet with the demolition (shoe molding removal) team and re-educate them on the matter. And I will be more thorough on confirming that our work in the end is of the highest standard, " or the like. Instead, Josh was defensive, and clearly did not like being called out on the issues. That's a shame for the business and potential future clients. In the end, the work is good after the corrections, but perhaps not worth going through these issues. We are selling our home, and these delays do delay the time we can put the home on the market. It was not simply an "inconvenience."
