Good haircut very respectful but $45 for a fade is not ok. I understand $35 at most but $45 is not ok. We're not in 2035 yet.

Well, we've been here a few times and the ladies do a pretty decent job, nothing out of the ordinary. The prices "were" reasonable about $25 for haircuts. Then they started charging $30, then $35! In my opinion, it's a lot for a kids haircut honestly. You end up paying almost $50 per child once you add the tip. Also, the parking sucks, very hard to find parking. If you end up parking in the back, you go to an alley that's shared with another business so you basically have to come back out in reverse to Paramount Boulevard, not very safe. Will we return? It's Valentines Day and as you know barber shops are either fully booked or unavailable. I decided to call 7 different barber shops and out of all 7, only one answered right away and was very friendly. That was Kings Barber Shop! It's extremely hard to find someone in such short notice who can not only cut your hair, but to trust that they'll give you a great haircut... Upon arrival, the place looks very nice with luxurious chairs. There was a barber there who right away acknowledged me and said she'll be with me shortly. It was 6pm and it didn't seem so busy (which is super convenient for people who have a 9am-5pm job)! Sarah attended me and was very sweet from the beginning, she asked what I wanted and gave me several suggestions for the look. It's RARE when a good barber asks you if you want a double zero or a bald shave! She did absolutely that and more! She kept a conversation going through out the whole hair -cutting process which I appreciate and even gave some legit great life advice. I went to this place after reading a review. My barber had a two and a half hour wait. I was forced to go here. First, parking is located in the rear and they only have about ten spaces. I walked in and wasn't pleased aesthetically. The walls are painted a mint green color. Magazine selection was great. Waiting chairs were comfortable. They have a soda vending machine inside. There's a liquor store about a block south of this location. Three women cut here. The barber chairs are visibly worn. The one I sat on had a large tear in the middle. I wanted a medium shave fade. She went a little to high with the fade. She did use a straight razor. That was good. The price was $15. The price wasn't an issue. I expected more value for my experience. This place SUCKS BIG TIME!! Can't believe they are still in business. I walked in early in the morning, 2 barbers where there. Only one was busy and almost done. The other guy (Gabriel), said he had an appointment that was on his way in, and the other guy said the same. They both made me wait nearly half hour, and no one showed up, until I was about to leave. They said to call and make an appointment and that the fee was $25!! With appointment and $20 for walk ins. They must think I'm an idiot like the rest to pay that much for a mediocre hair cut. Sarah and Elsa get my haircut and keep my beard in check in a reasonable amount of time considering, it is a barbershop, meaning you will wait no matter where you go(good shops anyway). This little hidden treasure is tucked away in a 60's style strip plaza off of Paramount Blvd. (next to Toyko Garden: refer to yelp review). Unbeknownst to the general public, this barber shop handles a nice handful of clients (wait can be up to 45 minutes). They give good haircuts, and the price is alRight. 12 bucks you can get a clean fade with all the trimming (shaving cream, line up, etc.) They keep to the old school way and line you up with a razor blade. Three women cut it up over here. Even came when one was eating flaming hot cheetos in between cuts (visual: red fingers and clippers). Great hair cut! They do a great job! 17$ and they're quick. In and out in 30 minutes! I let them know what size I wanted my hair to be cut and they advised me towards a better option. This is the most unprofessional and rude barber shop I've ever been to. Walked in and no one was seated, they knew I walked in. Sat and waited for the next available spot but instead of being called, they just take whoever walked in. Ok so here's the real low down on what this place is all about. They do a great job at cutting hair, at least in my experience. The shop is very spacious and it's never that crowded like the other little tiny barber shops you see on practically every street here in Los Angeles. Yes they charge $15 for a cut but I got it like that so I don't mind. What I do mind is the fact that they talk on the phone and sometimes even answer their cell phones while cutting a customer's hair. That is so unprofessional and really just bad business. On more then one occasion the worker will stop cutting your hair and talk to you just so they can use their hands to make gestures. In their eyes they are just being polite but in my eyes they are just wasteing my time. Cut the hair and talk while you are cutting it and if you cannot talk and cut then don't talk at all. I don't think these people realize how busy some of us are and we just want to get in and get out. I gave them three stars because they each have done a great job at cutting my hair. Some of them could be a little heavy on the hands but at least it looks good when they are done. All in all this place is not so bad. read more
