And it was a very big store with many different rooms. It seems that somehow they reduced the size of the building. In the past, they had a lot more in the way of unique gifts and country type items, antiques as well as cookies and candies. They still have some of those things, but it seems like it really it has been toned down quite a bit. I also remember in the past there was an old firehouse outside nearby, and I think they renovated it. And turned it into an empty building, which resembles the same building as the country store. My friend ended up buying a bar of lavender soap and I bought a couple of bags of netties kettle corn. The staff was friendly and helpful. We found the prices to be a little bit on the steep side.

I have ordered online from Hallmark and shipped to home or picked up orders there, so I assumed that Hallmark and the Paper Store are one and the same. Not the case. Today, I picked up an order but upon opening immediately in the car, I found that one product was loose in the box and broken in 3 pieces. One other item was missing altogether. Two items were in good order, just poorly boxed which is unusual for Hallmark but it is their busy season. I had the pre-paid order detail and after going back and forth with Paper Store Manager and Hallmark Manager (on-site), i was told they couldn't help me with a refund or exchange because they aren't Hallmark. I had no idea. It was not a good customer service experience but I've never had a problem there before, just the opposite. The one time I did I was basically told we can't help you and there's nothing we can do. You have to deal with Hallmark even though they carry the same products in the store. I was told I could purchase them from them though but not an exchange. Just want to share if you pick up an order there and you have a problem they can't help with it. It's just a pickup place. Every May, my sister sends me a gift certificate for my birthday and I go with a friend on a trip to Weston Nurseries in Hopkinton to kick off the gardening adventure for the year. I love going to Weston Nurseries because they make everyone feel like a garden expert. Their staff are helpful and friendly and if they don't know an answer, they'll find someone who does! I was very pleasantly surprised to see their huge selection of perennials had been laid out alphabetically this year!!!!! No more aimless wandering looking for astilbe in the middle of the hellebores or sedum. The prices are a bit higher than other local shops or big box home improvement stores. However, aside from two of the mini plants I bought from the clearance section that died, I have never been disappointed in the quality of things I've purchased there.
