This review concerns the pharmacy. The extra stars are for the store, the pharmacy gets no stars. I recently had a pharmacist laugh at me needs, tell me my prescription was not as important as others, and blame COVID for inefficiencies. I have been taking said prescription for 10+ years and I have never been treated so poorly. I have never felt so judged and discriminated against in a healthcare setting, including pharmacies. It's a disgrace and disservice to the entire system. Moreover, Sam's and Target can get this Rx filled in 15-60 mins. King Soopers needs 30+ hours and has a multitude of excuses for their inefficiencies. If you try to understand why the turn around time is so long, they will interrupt you, talk over you, laugh at you, and pull out all sorts of unprofessional tools to use on you. This is regarding the King Soopers at 995 S. Hover St., Longmont, Colorado. On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 5:40 PM, I went to the Bakery department to purchase an item. The posted sign clearly stated the Bakery was open until 7:00 PM. However, there was no employee present. I waited for approximately 5-7 minutes, and no one ever arrived. During that time, an employee working behind the Meat counter saw me standing at the Bakery counter on multiple occasions. Not once did they acknowledge me, ask if I needed assistance, or attempt to contact someone from the Bakery. I then walked to Customer Service, where I waited another five minutes without anyone present. Eventually, an employee pushing a trash can with a mop and broom asked if I needed help. When I explained that I was trying to find someone to assist me in the Bakery, I was told Customer Service was already closed--even though it was only about 5:52 PM on a Wednesday evening. That employee was courteous enough to page the Bakery over the intercom. Shortly afterward, an employee monitoring the self-checkout area approached me and bluntly stated, "The bakery is closed." I politely pointed out that the posted hours clearly indicated the Bakery was open until 7:00 PM. Without offering any explanation, apology, or assistance, the employee responded again in an abrupt and dismissive tone, "The bakery is closed," then turned around and walked away. This experience demonstrated a complete breakdown in customer service. The issue wasn't simply that no one was available in the Bakery--it was that multiple employees knew a customer needed assistance and chose not to help. When I finally did receive a response, it was dismissive, discourteous, and offered no attempt to resolve the problem or explain why the posted hours did not match reality. The rest of the store reflected the same lack of customer focus. Only 6 of the 20 self-checkout lanes were operating, along with just two staffed checkout lanes. The checkout lines stretched back across at least seven closed registers, creating long waits for customers during what should have been a busy evening shopping period. From what I observed, this store appears to be operating with staffing levels that are far below what is necessary to provide even basic customer service. If that is the result of corporate cost-cutting, it is your customers who are paying the price. If employees are under so much pressure that they respond to customers with frustration and indifference, that points to a management failure, not an employee failure. Management needs to take a hard look at this store's staffing, employee training, and customer service expectations. Customers should never be ignored, given inaccurate information, or treated dismissively simply because they are asking for assistance during posted business hours. read more

Coupons are intentionally deceiving - true for all KS stores, not just this one. One example - Coke/Pepsi advertised buy 3 get 3 free and show both cans and 6 pak bottles, but you gotta read between the lines to see that Coke is one deal (bottles) and Pepsi is another (cans only) - so if you buy 6x 6pk bottles of Pepsi products you do not get this deal. King Soopers has been under fire for deceiving coupons in the past, but they persist in this shady practice anyway read more

I order a birthday cake for my boyfriend from the Main Street Bakery and there was no communication between the employees or myself I was told they would call me and they never did I had to. The cake I ordered was supposed to be a half sheet cake and it was not I asked for a monopoly board on the top and instead of got just rows of the monopoly properties poorly done. read more

And special mention Diana - who stocks items on the shelves during the day, and helps load customer's vehicles outside the store - at the northeast end. All the staff are outstanding. I just thought I needed to give mention to these two people, because they have helped me with much kindness during the last several years that I have been a customer. I've been shopping at this store since it opened. Since the pandemic, it stinks. The shelves are never stocked and you'll just be lucky to get what you go in there for. It often looks like The Walking Dead have pillaged it. The excuse is that's it's the second busiest store in Colorado. Ok. So order more stuff and hire more people. Perhaps some of the rif raf roaming around the property could use jobs? Oh and forget about getting through the narrow aisles since they remodeled. Most of the time you're stuck behind one of those rude personal shopper people with the enormous carts. Pffftttt. Just go to Whole Foods and pay a little more to not subject yourself to the chaos, disorganization, crowded aisles, and long lines. It's like the new Walmart, without the low prices. read more

I've been going to this Hover St. King Soopers for years. Just the other day I was ready to check out in a big line and a clerk named Greg said he would take a customer at his station. So the guy in front me who had a basket with four things went to Greg's station. I followed the customer and Greg said to me he was closed in a curt tone. So I ended up at the self checkout and he was watching me checkout for some reason and I asked him why he didn't ring up my groceries and he said his light wasn't on.This is crap because I've seen plenty of cashier's lights off and they had a line of customers. So I told him he was very rude to me, and he gave me this lame apology. When I got home my avocados I got on sale were bruised and overripe. My whole experience there left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't really want to return to that King Soopers.Not sure I want to go to the other ones either. read more

I've been to this King Soopers many times when visiting friends or doing errands out in Longmont. They always seem to have new and exciting products as well as good prices on staple items. With some unsavory organic strawberries and a receipt in tow I approached the customer service desk today to request a return. While the strawberries came from a neighboring King Sooper's they were happy to provide me with a refund (King Sooper's typically requests that you return items back to the store they were purchased from for inventory purposes). Now that's what I call customer service. While perusing the Optimum Wellness section I struck up some friendly conversation with Sherman. We chatted in depth about the better for you offerings they carried and he made some great recommendations about what products would best suit my needs. Buyer beware. CHECK EXP. DATES. This store sells past expiration date food. Sometimes WAY past. I bought some Keto Culture bread 2 days ago (2/6/22) that was dated 1/17/22. Didn't notice until I got home. Two Weeks. The only reason it wasn't moldy and looked find is it's a specialty bread with low gluten/high fiber. I was, however, hard and inedible. The only reason they get 2 stars is they have a good selection of foods. Like, Keto Culture bread. This place has the most unprofessional pharmacy I've ever been to. You call to refill a prescription, they dislike answering the phone. If you need it on the same day , good luck. If you ask to have it the same day they will sigh and make you feel bad, then give you a time to pick it up. Upon picking up said prescription... They say they don't have it on file or it was never worked on. Don't they understand see of these medications cause withdrawal or other symptoms if you stop taking them? They don't care. This actually goes for the handful of King Soopers I've been to I've been to the one on main Street in Longmont Hoover Street and Longmont fort Collins on Taft and also in gun barrel which I have to say the reason why I'm doing this review is because gun barrel and Colorado would be the only King Soopers thus far when I've used the restroom you know how they have those toilet guard dispensers? Yes they would probably be that I've only seen now the only one that actually fills their toilet guard dispensers with the paper the toilet Guard PAPER!!!! How are you going to put the dispensers in there and not fill them? How you going to pay for that and go yeah we don't need the paper seriously I don't want to be touching nobody's butt with my butt on the toilet seat seriously get that paper in there!!!! read more

Boy oh boy this place is the best! If you are into playing Hide-n-Seek, you're going to love this place. See, they hide the food in a different spot nearly every time I come in! You can find bread near the bakery, OR you can find the rest five isles away. Hate Grapefruit that are too tough, every bag comes with at least one or two that are carefully bashed into softness. If your arms are too sore, don't worry because every cart has a built in rattle feature the massage those sore pythons! And for a bonus, if you ever find yourself into cashier CosPlay, you will more than likely get you wish since they never have enough of them and the long lines will provide your wish to play that role! I've never enjoyed the looooong lines at the pharmacy only because I have a life worth living and get my remedies elsewhere. The staff here seem really nice and are trying to do their best. But I believe this place needs proper leadership and vision. I don't like giving poor reviews but I find myself frustrated with every visit. read more

Unfortunately, the pharmacy has gone way, way downhill. The employees are stressed, unhappy and unable to meet expectations There are signs in place saying they are understaffed and to expect longer wait times. I called a prescription in on Friday and it still wasn't filled on Wednesday. Yep, that's a long ass wait time. After waiting in line for half an hour, I was able to convince them to fill the damn thing while I was there. Oddly enough, one of the meds is for high blood pressure. For years i have picked up on the way the employees at Soopers were not treated well. I also am not pleased with the way that customers are treated. At the start of the pandemic they increased the displays blocking customer paths without any regard for recommended distancing. Managers have shrugged their shoulders and simply said, "It's corporate." Local workers have no say. These workers have kept serving the public through the pandemic and deserve better treatment. I fully support the strike and will not shop at Sooper before there is a reasonable and respectful resolution. read more

I don't know if this one is better or worse than the Safeway in town. I thik the meat selection is better here, but some of the prices might be better at the Safeway. I found some ground pork for my tofu dish, and was satisfied enough with it. Entire aisle of teas and coffees, plus a decent bakery. Upon further review, I do think the prices are better than the ones at Safeway. Annie's Mac and Cheese, dollar each; assorted chocolate bars, buy one get one free. Maybe the only thing that is lacking are cheap vegetables, but everything green is more expensive than in California. Seems also to have a much better selection of real cheeses, if you're willing to fork over $9/lb. for Comte, for example. I might just have to wait till my next trip to France. This is one of the few grocery stores if not the only one in town that I can really find everything that I am looking for everytime I need it.It has a lot of the rarity items (specific cheeses, oils, seasonings, bread & seafood, etc) that I don't really find in other stores of the same quality which is great when you are cooking a specific meal and need a specific ingredient. I know I can come here and get it. The staff here is great and willing to help with almost any problem and can be found in abundance all over the store which is great, and in the 20 of so years I have never had an issue with anyone when I needed help. Same goes for the delivery service which has always been on time, polite, and with my correct order. Food quality for me has always been great as well from the meat, seafood, and deli counters with the only exception sometimes with produce just being either overly ripened which I think is a problem of location getting fresh seasonal food from other countries/west coast. It has never really been a problem but does seem to happen from time to time. The store to me always appears to be clean and free of random trash and sporatic food placements. The shelves are usually always stocked and fronted with very little things ever really out of order which to me is rather impressive given the severe traffic that this store gets which is really its only downside. If you come during after work hours you can expect a large crowd and a decent wait to checkout which isnt from lack of checkers which they usually have 90% of the lanes open, its just incredibly busy hence leaning on delivery, or even late night shopping being ideal. read more

Shop here a lot and am more and more disappointed with the customer service and cleanliness. The store just seems overwhelmed. Yesterday, I wanted a pre-cooked chicken at 5 pm (peak time for such items). None available. Waited 19 minutes at the counter and no service. Clerk at deli said they only had 2 people working and there were at least 10 customers in line. LEFT!! Pharmacy is always overwhelmed and lately they have not had my prescriptions in stock so I have to wait for days. What happened?? A prescription was called in from our Veterinarian to this pharmacy, I went to pick it up and the Pharmacy Tech (young gentleman) asked the name. I told him the name, he said "I have no prescription for ______!" I explained that the Veterinarian office called me and said it was called in to the pharmacy. "Well, there is NO prescription called in". Then, the PHARMACIST said " I took that prescription, it's over there." The pharmacist tech said to me, "it will be over an hour to fill!" I explained that I was told from our Veterinarian office it would be ready in 30 minutes! Here is his response to me...."well they don't work here do they?" First of all, what employee of King Soopers talks to a customer like that, with such attitude??????" Obviously, the PHARMACIST who took the new prescription TOLD the Veterinarian office it would be ready in 30 minutes, those were not my words! So thanks to this rude Tech who works at King Soopers, we had to wait 1 hour 45 minutes for this RX. In the meantime our dog had a massive seizure..... I worked for King Soopers and in the pharmacy, Mr. King would never hire an employee that would talk to a customer. It's all about Customer Service! read more

I like to go to King Soopers because their prices are usually better than the competition and they allow me the chance to earn free groceries. ( using their store loyalty card and their credit card) Plus sign up for their email club and they will send you special members only coupons and each Friday you get an instant online downloadable coupon that you place on your shoppers card for a free item. read more

I'm staying nearby for a few days and wanted to find a grocery store to stock up on some snacks and found this place on Yelp. Glad I looked at the reviews a decided to check it out. This store was great. Their cheese and olive bar alone make it worth stopping in for. They have a nice selection and veggies and fruits as well. Parking was simple. Aisles were wide enough to comfortable navigate. Nice liquor and beer choices. I'll visit again for sure! read more
