The cashier that brought carts in nearly rammed my handicapped friend because, I guess he was mad he had to do cart duty. This could've ended in a lawsuit. I'm thankful my friend is ok. If you want to be stared down and analyzed while you use self check out by the rude staff check it out. If you are supervising my whole check out then open up a lane and by all means check out the groceries for me. We stopped going here as we don't appreciate the way we are treated by the security guards. I think if their approach at the exit doors was reconsidered form the perspective of the law abiding consumer, it would make shopping here significantly more pleasant rather than treating everyone like they have not been honest while shopping or checking out groceries. Why can't leadership at Kroger be nicer to their patrons and employees? I don't get it. They have created a very unpleasant environment cumulatively over the years between not updating the pricing to match what is in the app/on sale or listed on the shelf to the long lines at self service checkout. This has improved in the last year but we are just kind of done with the poor experience at the price point. They used to be a value leader but not anymore. I see there are many bad reviews, but I've never had a problem with this store. Always very nice (but overworked) employees. And I dread grocery shopping. I'm mildly disabled and I often use the pick up service for large orders. There is one older (not old, 50ish) woman (her name escapes me at the moment), that usually brings out my groceries and she is such a delightful person. She is often overworked since an employee didn't show up for their shift. But is always so nice. And when another employee comes out on her day off, it's usually a teenager who is actually in a good mood they aren't the best packers but I always help load up and grab the eggs first to make sure they aren't crushed. The security guard at King Soopers at Alameda and Wadsworth was belligerent to me. She told me I was required to show my receipt. I told her she could ask me and I could decline. I asked her if she suspected me of shop lifting. She said "just show your receipt, Is that so hard". I had just bought $200 worth of groceries. I reported her to the manager and he stated the security guards were not his employees. I have shopped at this store for over 30 years, but because of this unpleasant incident, I will be going to Green Mountain store from now on. This store is understaffed. How many ways does this store infuriate me regularly? Several! 1. Sometimes the meat counter has someone working there. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes that person knows how to remove the skin from salmon, but they usually don't. 2. The digital coupons and app work roughly half the time. Three of us shoppers with three different phones tried to get a digital coupon for avocados to register in our King Soopers ad. Didn't work for anyone. 3. You have to constantly watch as items get rung up to make sure the correct price is reflected, and if you catch the mistake too late, you have to go to the customer service desk and explain the situation. 4. As I finished unloading my cart, the courtesy clerk was bagging, and I noticed that he had put my eggs in the bottom of a bag and piled literally everything else he could fit on top of them. Do not get your medication at this pharmacy. They have been charging me for medication they are not supposed to and not giving me the entire prescription because - they say - it is the fault of the insurance. Well, I called my insurance, and they told me there should be no charge for a certain type of medication. Trying to get this audited to get a refund for the times I have been charged has been just as bad - like pulling teeth - when the pharmacy manager said he did not show I paid, but I have the receipt. I never really write bad reviews but I feel like this must be addressed. I went and stopped by the Mediterranean bar, and had a question if one of the items was in stock (I understand that, most the times if I can't find something-- its out, however it never hurts to check?) & Desiree responded very harshly stating "if you don't see it. It's out". I apologized and thanked her, (met with no response) and kept looking what they had, I noticed something new I wanted to try, and there is a sign stating to ask employees for a sample cup. I gave it a few seconds and asked her if I may have a sample cup please, she then rolled her eyes at me, and said "hold on A MINUTE." - I understand she was in the middle of something, and I said "no worries take your time." (I kept looking cause it was very awkward and obvious I had annoyed her.) She then walked around to me, and very rudely placed the 2oz cup in my hand, and when I still said thank you she said nothing. At all. I responded with "umm okay??" Mainly confused as to what I did to be treated like that, & was met with a very rude look when grabbing my sample. I decided not to purchase anything that day given that because of her cold attitude, and simple just being rude. I'm not expecting anyone to have perfect days ever, and I always, always think grace should be given, however, I work in customers service, and I felt so unbelievably uncomfortable this day by her. Who ever is the manager is pure lazy. An hour before they close and every isle full of pallets I can't even grab half the stuff I need. This is not a one off either its always like this. The little workers all proud they can start stocking early while shoppers struggle to get even through an isle. These places use to be 24 7 and I could go super late to avoid this garbage how they are limited hours yet they start this stuff while still open. We were staying at an airb&b and needed some supplies to survive. This was the closest grocery store. It's your standard grocery store, prices seemed to be decent. Lay out was easy to follow and we were able to find everything we needed. Fruits were reasonably priced, pretty cheap for bananas and apples. This is my regular grocery store as it is right down the street from our neighborhood. I'm really surprised by all the hate this location is receiving in some recent reviews, so I am leaving this one to show some appreciation for the people there who I think do a fine job. While it may not have the size, selection, and modernity of the Belmar location, this store is generally clean and well stocked, the meat and produce are fresh, and the staff is friendly and helpful when needed. This is the only King Soopers I have been in....so I can't compare it to any other King Soopers. The store appears clean and has a large selection of items. I was able to find a lot of gluten free items. The check out lines were all about 3 people deep each time I was here. The staff was friendly. Just want to leave this review and give everyone at this King Soopers a huge shoutout for the work they've been doing in the last month, as we've all been dealing with coronavirus. It was madness at first but they've done a good job keeping the essentials stocked, helping frantic customers, all the while working to keep the store clean. This was one of the first grocery stores I saw anyone wiping down grocery carts to help keep us safe. Staff and management are friendly and nice, but need more training. Today they had a beautiful selection of heirloom tomatoes. They were piled high on top of each other and ruined the ones on the bottom. You can't treat heirloom tomatoes the same way you do regular commercial tomatoes. read more

I 'very been going here about a year and decided today to finally start going to another grocery store. I keep going to this grocery because it's super close but they are constantly out of stuff. Never expect this place to be clean. The deli staff is lazy and they are never helpful. If you ask them to prep a meal they act like it's the end of the world. We have a company party and every year around this time we get the chicken from the deli. I was annoyed at myself, especially after having to drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction of where I needed to be, but they were so kind to me and even gave me some big coupons to make up for trouble that was my own fault. EXPIRED PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY MEAT are an ongoing problem, including in the meat counter, where you can expect to find hamburger that expired 2-3 days ago. Check all labels. SELECTION IS POOR. The selection has dropped off dramatically in the past year. Only a few of the very top brands are available along with their own products. Example - they have saltines, but quit carrying Keebler saltines. They have IBC rootbeer, but no IBC diet rootbeer. They devote a lot of shelf space to what they do have, rows and rows of the same thing, so it isn't like they don't have room for more selection. Expect extremely limited choices in all sections. RUDE OBLIVIOUS STAFF. The staff is a mixed bunch. Some old-timers are nice and welcoming. In general though, they tend to congregate together at the end of an aisle near the cash registers, chatting, but they space themselves apart so that you have to wend your way through them or ask them to move. I mean ALL THE TIME. Expect them to be in your way and oblivious to that fact and you have to ask them to move so that you can shop and spend money in their store probably 4 times during EVERY shopping trip. I have had to get in line with other people and wait my turn to get past chatting employees. More than once. FILTHY PRACTICES IN PRODUCE DEPT. Don't buy produce from the lowest shelf. The employee spraying the veggies drags the filthy hose from off the floor and over the veggies while spraying. When I pointed it out, he was snotty. Management displayed zero interest when I complained. So the broccoli for sure has that hose dragged over it because it's on the lowest shelf. Anything you can't peel before you eat I would not buy there. Where's a Publix when you need one?!? read more

As a Christmas gift for my mother, my wife and I purchased a $25 Panera gift card from King Soopers. My mother was at the Panera store at 650 S Wadsworth Blvd yesterday evening and her gift card was declined. The manager said that it had not been activated by King Soopers. Went to the customer service desk. They said they could not do anything at the store and gave us a corporate number to call. I called the number and they said the expected wait time would be over one hour. I asked, given the tens of thousand of dollars our family has spent at King Soopers over the past 40 years if they could just fix the issue and give us another $25 gift card or give us a refund. They were unwilling to do so even though they have record of the purchase on our super card. I called the number again, waited over an hour, and got disconnected. It seems nobody there is willing to help resolve the issue. Very disappointed. They just lost several long term customers. read more

I try to avoid going to this grocery store as much as possible. It's pretty much a desperate measures kind of place. There's so much construction to expand it out, there's only one entrance to the store, parking is an absolute nightmare, and you have to be on extra high alert while driving and parking and walking because people speed or brake suddenly. The store itself is fine. But I prefer Sprouts over King Soopers. That said, I do shop at King Soopers when I have a craving for an unhealthy packaged item (like Doritos) that Sprouts does not carry. As far as organics go, King Soopers offers some selections - and they usually have sales on organic stuff when Sprouts doesn't. I really like that King Soopers (in general) has a section in produce of slightly blemished fruits and veggies for discounted prices, as well as discounted bakery items that are not at peak freshness. I appreciate that they're not wasteful. More grocery stores should follow this example and reduce waste of things people will still eat. Of all the King Soopers in the area, this is my least favorite, simply because of all the construction and the madhouse parking lot. read more

This King Soopers is ALWAYS a mad house. The parking lot is inevitably packed with a bunch of impatient minivan drivers trying to either pull in or pull out, cut you off or hit an innocent pedestrian. Just going there stresses me out. The pharmacy staff could not be more indifferent and unwelcoming. They hardly ever make eye contact, much less smile. They stand around looking at their computers as you wait, obviously the next in line, and mutter "It'll just be a moment" like they hate their lives. Maybe they do. The product selection here is OK. Costs are standard. Produce variety is good. The best thing about this and other King Soopers is that they always have lots of cashiers, unlike Safeway which has approximately 1 cashier to every 300 customers. I go out of my way not to go to Safeway because of that, and usually end up at this King Soopers instead. It still kind of sucks, though. read more

The local neighborhood grocery store. I've been to this King Soopers a few times, but recently it was renovated and feels bigger with a clean, modern look. Much nicer than before. It was confusing to find items and one could easily get lost here as a newbie. Thanks to an index board, I was able to find the right aisle. Check out was not too bad at self-check out machines. The machine recognized items fairly quickly. Parking lot was a nightmare. Lots of people in and out of the store. Watch out as you back up out of a parking space! Went in today to pick up a prescription and the girl who checked me out was very abrasive and demeaning. She mentioned that she tried calling me multiple times about my prescription and was upset that my voicemail was full. (Keep in mind, I don't answer to numbers I don't recognize). Meanwhile, I received 3 text messages from the pharmacy saying my prescription was ready to be picked up. So, in my mind, the matter was settled and I was being prompted to come in. So up until their recent remodel I could get all of my grocery shopping done and be out in under an hour. Now, they have switched everything around and finding stuff has been a little more difficult. It also feels more cramped now and for some reason the produce section seems so much smaller and there doesn't seem to be as many options as before. They now have a Sushi Bar, Cheese & Olive Bar, Salad Bar and some other stuff all in the produce section which may be reason for the cramping feel I get. Oh and there is lady that stands at the Sushi Bar screaming "FREE SAMPLE OF SUSHI" every time you walk past. It scares the crap out of me. I have never noticed it being filthy or gross as some other King Soopers are. They always seem to have enough lanes open so you don't have to wait in line for too long and they move relatively quickly even with people that have carts that are full. Once I figure out where everything is again I am confident that I can go back to my in and out in under an hour. read more
