I really find it funny all the negative reviews about how crowded this store is - if you want wide open spaces go to the Safeway! The reason this store is crowded is because EVERYBODY GOES THERE FOR A REASON! The selection is unmatched - they have more than just foodstuffs - a liquor department to rival any free standing liquor store in town - housewares and home deco - even clothes and shoes. The staff is abundant (my experience unlike some reviews,) knowledgeable and helpful! I prefer the self checkout if I don't have a giant cart full of items! I always get offered help out to my car and the checkers are always friendly, accurate and professional. Don't listen to the whiners who give the entire store a negative review because they picked up a badly sliced loaf of garlic bread (for goodness sakes - REALLY?!) recognize that the place is busy because it's freaking awesome. read more

While you can't complain much about a grocery store, I had the unfortunate please of dealing with the lady I believe to be the manager today. I purchased an item in the back of the store (with a bright yellow "paid" sticker and the receipt on the item I paid for) and grabbed another item to pay up front. The manager walked up to me after I paid for the additional item asking if I had scanned the other item in my hand. I said no because I paid in the back. She said she needed to see proof. I showed the giant yellow sticker which said "paid" that was placed on the item after I purchased it. She would not let me leave the store until after I also showed the receipt, because she did not believe I bought the item. While this has not been my typical shopping experience, expect the manager to ask for proof for everything. It's a hard spot, on one hand I expect people to be able to show they bought an item. But on another hand, this is clearly harassment on the way out of the store when there's clearly proof that an item was purchased. Show some better judgement. read more

They need to hire more pharmacy staff. It seems like every single time I go, I am waiting for at least 10-15 minutes to pick up my prescription. That's with either the in-store pharmacy or the drive thru. It gets ridiculous when you're on a time crunch. Tonight I waiting in the drive-thru window for 10 minutes before anyone even said anything to me. I understand it gets busy but that's just insane. read more

Overcrowded and under stocked. The staff are nice enough, but patrons are terrible. Irritable and unfriendly. I don't even shop there on the weekends, way to crowded unless you go right at opening. Even then it hasn't been stocked well. They never should have closed down the other one. The parking lot is very very dark at night and I don't think the lights even work. read more

Their pharmacy is horrible. Every time I get a prescription filled here they never seem to get it. Even when the doctors office gets a confirmation that it was received. So I have to call the doctors office several times and get them to resend it multiple times. The customer service is the worst. I will no longer have them as a pharmacy anymore I would advise anyone else to go somewhere else. read more

This pharmacy is the WORST! They never have prescriptions done in the time frame their recorded message states! And then their staff is nasty when you start questioning why it wasn't done! I came into your store to get a wine. I knew where the wine was located so I went over to the section. When I got to the section I walked past an employee fixing the shelf. She did not acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. A few seconds go by and I could feel someone watching me from the end of the aisle. It was this same woman, and when I looked at her then she asked if I was finding everything ok. Why was she following me and watching me. Why did she have to make me feel uncomfortable. I am a black woman does not mean I am about to do something. Why didn't she allow me to shop in peace. You have cameras in your store,you can view the tape. Clicklist usually does a decent job but today was ridiculous. I tried 4 times to get my groceries and was told to come back later each time. On the fourth try I ended up waiting in a 40 min line and when I got home we were missing 1/4 of the order and was charged for the missing items, not to mention the frozen foods were still barely cold. I sat on hold for an hour trying to get my order adjusted and the line disconnected. Not happy. Walmart is SOOOO much easier to deal with and order from, it pains me to say that, but it's true. read more

First of all I have never in my entire life been so offended shopping at a grocery store. The woman working at the self check out should be ashamed of herself. I was purchasing metal tins for drinks and one of the handles was sticking in the tin so it wasn't pressed down all the way. She came over to my cart lifted up the tin bucket gave me the rudest look and basically accused me of stealing some thing as she was checking for it underneath. I looked at her and I said you have got to be kidding me, are you serious and she looked at me and just said yes. I was also there with my husband and we were buying alcohol for a party. I understand the policy of not serving people without IDs but my husband had his ID and he was the one purchasing the alcohol. I stepped away and she refused to let him buy it. She had so much attitude and clearly should not be working with people. I will NEVER shop at your store again and I will be spreading the word to everyone I know! This King Soopers is big, clean and brand new. It even has a full Wine and Liquor section in the store. And everyone in Colorado knows the draconian alcohol laws and how rare that is. But it is always tooooooo packed. If you go here, expect to wait in long lines and fight heavy traffic in and out the store. I always sneak off to King Soopers at 750 N Ridge Road. It may not be as pretty, but it sure is more convenient. In and out. And if you need alcohol, there is an amazing liquor store next door. read more

After readng another review, which called the store crowded, I suppose it depends on when you go. Shopping at Kroger Company Stores across the country for many decades, I have learned that shopping in the morning, during the week is best for me and find little to no problem with crowds. This store is open later at night as well. It is generally well stocked (although restocking during regular business hours is my second largest complaint--all the stores seem to do it now; saves on overtime, I guess), prices are competitive, the associates are courteous, mostly knowledgeable, and very helpful. Their produce is fresh, baked goods delicious, they have an acceptable array of prepared and deli foods and adult beverages, their plants seem healthy and are beautifully--although sometimes too bountifully--displayed; it's hard to get an electric cart through without running into some! I appreciate not having to make several stops when I shop. The thing I really find concerning is being on the lookout for the child-size carts. They can be a hazard for the child or someone using an electric cart, like me. Do parents find them very useful, distracting, time-consuming or just a novelty, I wonder? In all, this King Soopers is where I like to shop, here in Castle Rock (although I wish they would get rid of those Kiddie Carts . . .)! read more

So disappointed in this store, I won't be back. Missing prices, boxes in front of merchandise on a holiday weekend, empty shelves, lack of specialty items (specifically for common food allergies). They didn't have cart wipes, the guy working told me he could give me a paper towel, but didn't know where to refill the container. Yesterday I went to the King Soopers in Caste Pines, CO which has been my primary grocery store for over 20 years. Over that time the store has gone downhill. A little while back they remodeled the store which in my mind has been a failure with poor lighting in produce, crowded aisles and a closed bakery. My experience yesterday was a prime example of poor service and a store in decline. i like to have Boars Head Black Forest ham for lunch and snacks. I always buy it freshly sliced because I like it thin and just sliced. at 2:45 in the afternoon there was only 1 person in the deli who was slicing meat for the precut case. Finally after waiting a while she acknowledged me and took my order. After she finished my order she turned off all the deli case lights, handed my package to me, turned her back and walked away. Although I had other items to order she didn't ask if I wanted anything else and wasn't coming back to take additional orders. She returned to cutting the prepackaged meats and cheeses and then took her cart to place her packages in the cooler case. Since COVID the store has really gone downhill and everyone has excuses about supply line and lack of employees etc however if I go the the new KS Marketplace in Castle Rock it has plenty of employees and product. In one of the richest zip codes (80108) in Colorado we have one of the most poorly managed stores. I don't directly blame the employees, I blame the store Manager and King Soopers for such a poor excuse of a store. I've always wandered if the plan is to close this store by running it poorly! The crazy thing is that this area continues to grow population with many new high end homes, mid priced homes, townhomes and apartments. It is not a blighted area and they don't have any competition. Very sad that Kroger thinks so little of our area. read more

And then they take someone who just walks up in front of the line. Very unhelpful and extremely unfriendly unless you were the guy who cut the entire line. read more

It's a good store but noticed the staff is too busy to really use thier customers service because they are so busy they seem short staffed. For example when I'm checking out I have to bag my own groceries everytime and do it quickly because thier always a line. They ought to raise thier pay rate so more people would apply and hope thier management is good to keep them so staff can be more available to thier customers. read more

What is going on with King Sooper's Pharmacy at the Promenade in Castle Rock, CO? Prescriptions filled incorrectly, old prescriptions refilled even though no refill authorized, wait time to pick up prescriptions is horrendous, no text notification when ready and on and on. Is it an issue of lack of pharmacists and/or competent help behind the counter. This is a recipe for disaster should someone get the WRONG medication. And the Assistant Store Manager today was very rude and actually told a customer he would have him removed from the store because he expressed his dissatisfaction with the whole situation happening today. Seriously, someone had better get a handle on what is happening at this Pharmacy!! I'm considering transfer my scripts somewhere else. read more

We loved the old King Soopers. However, we avoid it now that it's moved. The Pharmacy is so slow. They told me 2 hours for my husbands antibiotics. We came back in four hours and they were not done. I will start by saying, the store is nice and so are the employees. A few weeks back I decided that I would try curbside pick up. The first week they called to let me know they were running an hour behind, no problem, still fit in my schedule, last week they called to let me know they were two hours behind and told me to pick up at 5. This did not fit in my schedule. I had to get my kids home from school, make dinner and be somewhere at 7. Luckily my 16 year old was able to pick them up for me. He sat there so long he said, "mom, I could have gone in and bought all this stuff already". Then yesterday, I sat there for 55 mins. My daughter ended up doing her homework in the backseat. The poor kid came out and said the system had crashed and they were trying their best. I totally felt for him and in no way mad at the employees but, if they want to offer this service then they need to hire more people. This did not simplify my life as I had hoped it would. read more

If I wanted to shop at a Wal-Mart I would, however I prefer to simply buy groceries. This New store is terrible, it's always in disarray, shelves are not faced and the selection is poor. I think this place is overwhelming. Yeah, there's some cool stuff, but the actual groceries are questionable. The pricing of the produce is very high and more often than not, they're out of what I'm looking for and I go on almost a weekly basis. It seems like they should focus their attention more on the food than on all the extra fancy stuff. Hopefully they can get their inventory ordering under control. read more

We were extremely excited when we heard the Milestone store was being replaced, it is unfortunate that after six weeks of shopping at the new store by the Outlets we swear we will never step foot in there again. Staff is extremely rude, produce department is way too small, there is always two stocking carts blocking customers paths as they keep running out of produce. Joe was our checker, second time we had him, does not say hello, didn't thank us for bagging our own groceries. In the old store there was always a head clerk keeping things moving, calling for assistance when things got busy, not this store. Not once since May has a courtesy clerk bagged for us. Kroger may think this is the type of store to compete with Walmart and Target, sorry you have not done your research. What's not to love about this place!!! First of all, there was an army of small carts there to greet me. I didn't actually need one this time, but at other stores, it's difficult to find one when I do. The produce department alone is almost the size of my entire local KS. Lol. The meat case is huge, and full of 5 kinds of bacon, beef and different kinds of prepared chicken. And don't get me started on the liquor department. Yes, they have a full liquor license, and not for that 3.2 stuff. I was able to pick up all ALL of my mimosa ingredients at one place!! Like almost all KS, everything was well stocked, clean and organized. Unlike other KS, they carry soft goods. They have clothes for men, women and kids and toys and decor. It was super sweet earning points on everything I bought, instead of just groceries. Finally, comes the showstopper of this KS. I got to the front of the store with a full basket prepared to wait awhile. It was, after all, pretty busy. All I could see was a sea of lit up cashier signs. Literally every single one of the 24 cashier lanes was staffed with a bright, friendly face. It bears repeating, EVERY SINGLE LANE WAS OPEN!!!! I will definitely be back on my way through Castle Rock next time. read more

We recently moved here from Littleton. At first, the Castle Rock store seemed amazing because it was so large but truth be told, it doesn't carry near the selection of items that the king Sooper stores in Littleton do. The Chatfield store is much much better. When shopping for particular items, the castle rock store might have a choice of two brands, where the Chatfield store has 4 or 5. I found this to be true with many items I buy. I now just go up to Littleton to shop whenever possible. One reader said the store is always crowded because it's freaking awesome. I think the reason is because what other options are there? There's only Safeway. The castle rock Sprouts and vitamin cottage are both very small and don't have enough selection. I for one can't wait for Whole Foods to open! read more

CLICKLIST - Third time not a charm... We used Clicklist weekly for over a year in Ft Collins and absolutley loved it (we have three children under 4yrs old). Just moved to Castle Rock and have been really disappoint. After 3 pick ups consisting of moldy fruit, ridiculously bruised bananas, expired milk, and finally a surprisingly rude manager. This service is no longer worth it and we will now be Sprouts people in Castle Rock, unfortunately going into the huge King Scoopers with our family is not an easy task :( read more

HIRE MORE STAFF. It is so frustrating to spend so much money a month here and not get any help with checking out or bagging groceries. So many of their customers are mothers who have to take their kids to the store with them; anyone who has shopped with kids know how hard it is, then to add on having to use a self check out or having to bag your own groceries if your lucky enough to have the one register open help check you out. It's just really frustrating to try to juggle kids, pay and then have to bag your own groceries. You pay more for groceries at king soopers hoping to get better service. Definitely not the case with this store. Also, they have way too many self checks available at this store. They should support the job market and hire actually people who need a paycheck. Not cut cost and use machines for everything. Talk about greed. Management obviously doesn't care about their customers either. This store has so many bad reviews about this same issue and yet they don't care to fix it. Spend your money at a store that will give paychecks to actual people. read more

Liquor section has a good selection but outrageous prices, a bottle of Mumm Brut Rose cost between $18-$20 at all liquor stores. They have it priced at $30.99, I asked the manager if they price match or if they had an error and got nothing in return. I will continue to purchase my booze from Bubbles. read more

OURTAGEOUSLY rude employees and under-trained managers that don't know how to hire or train their employees, and don't know basic common-sense policies that should be mandatory. From putting food from the shelves onto the floor as they rearranged things (imagine handing your child a granola bar that just came off the floor of a store where people have been walking in and out of public places and public restrooms!) to seemingly-drunken employees yelling at customers who stopped to make sure they were ok when they were laying on the floor in the aisle....to managers that defend their employees before even investigating. It's a condescending shit show experience! A store this size should not give off the impression that it is run by teenagers. Avoid this store at all cost and take the time to go to another store that will truly appreciate your business. Remember- you pay their salaries.
