Sonny's Kebabs & Chicken looks a little ropey as in fairness most kebab shops do. I ordered a large Doner Kebab, with chilli and garlic sauce. oh yes the 'Death breathe' combo, and chips smothered in tomato sauce and mayonnaise (Mmmm Laura N's favourite.) Maybe it was the combination of being 3am in the morning and infused with a little alcohol, but the food tasted good. The meat was tasty, the chilli sauce didn't incinerate my insides and the salad tasted fresh. Ok I'll admit the pitta was a little wooden but I didn't care. Sonny; you get the thumbs up.

Somehow life's twists and turns allowed me to find my way to Slough. We were visiting the area for…read morea few days and I needed a lamb doner fix. After some research, I took a stroll to Slough Kebab, which is about a 15-20 min walk from the train station. Anyway we walk in to a vast takeout counter, but as we were dining in we were directed to the room on the right side with many open tables. They were busy cleaning, and as we sat we noticed the place was spotless. We ordered from our table, and of course, we ended up getting the lamb and chicken doners with chips as our side. There was a small and large option and we went with the small. When the plates arrived they looked like a large to us, but this place just has generous portions. The lamb was succulent and glistening, and the chicken was packed with flavor. We also had a fresh hot pita, garlic sauce, and spicy sauce on the side to accompany the meal. Everything was fantastic! We certainly couldn't finish all the food, but rest assured, it was thoroughly enjoyed. Only feedback I would have is perhaps offering the doner in a wrap form for easy lunch eating. The establishment was cash only on this visit, not sure if that is normal. Nevertheless, if my travels ever find me in Slough again, I would certainly return to indulge in the countless other menu items.

There are two locations in Croydon: One near the East Croydon station and this location, on High Street. The High Street location is the one that sell dumplings - the other does not. For someone like me who loooves the hell out of some dumplings, this was my go-to location for some shrimp and chive dumplings. Free wifi. Good service. Lots of seating. They also deliver.

Service at this branch is marginally speedier than the other location, and it does seem that your food is hotter when you get it. Recommended: the Singapore fried noodles are nicely curried and spiced. The Pad Thai noodles are a good second choice.

The burgers here are pretty good actually and it seems like a well run and clean environment. The prices are pretty good too. I once asked for cheesy chips here (a regular northern take-away option) but the best they could do was offer me a box of chips, which were better than most take-away kebab shop chips in London, with a slice of plastic cheese on top. (It wasn't actually plastic but you know the ones i mean?!). It was quite funny really and i didn't mind because the guys in Flame are a good laugh and friendly. They also gave me unlimited amounts of ketchup to make up for their lack of grated cheese.
