Philip is my go to. He's easy going, attention to detail is great and also he is not drama!!! Kevin is great as well. The only thing that I experienced today was a bit of awkward confrontation. This nail tech lady that removed my gel-x got upset that the nails she removed from me was not of her artwork. She had the audacity to even fling all the nail shavings all over my face and laugh I should have walked out at that point. Its like she was taking it out on me. She asked who I got this done from. I told her it was Philip. Why bother to be unprofessional and try to be upset at a customer for that reason? *-2 stars for her. She told me next time to ask for Philip, I didn't request someone else, I was willing to work with her but her behavior has made me not want to go here. Well, I was excited to get an appointment 5 minutes after I called in however this is what I left with this afternoon. The gentleman in the front who had initially greeted me was kind, unfortunately there was a mixup and he had an appointment booked that he forgot about so I had to move to another nail artist (totally fine, this happens). I didn't get the name of the gentleman who wound up working on my nails but the pictures say it all. From what I caught he was telling me was that he has a severe lack of sleep. Im sad to say that he was visibly shaking and had to drink out of his coffee cup every 5 mins (maybe just super wired off caffeine?). I should have said something from the get-go when he glued our fingers together while putting the tips on, however I continued--and paid for the service in full. These took about an hour, he had to file the gel coating off on 5 nails which left my cuticles and nail bed sore @ 5 hours after the apt. My technician asked another nail tech to help me initially, but she made him do it because acrylics "take too long". Every time he'd mess up he'd say "see, I told her to help you and now you got me". She kept walking by to watch him on my nails the entire time, and did not have any customers. Didn't matter who I got, I still walked out having to pay... The gentleman at the register was not the manicurist however as soon as I walked up, he asked to look at my nails and then said...we'll only charge $45 today. My manicurist also let me know that I looked 18 from afar but laughed and said when he put his glasses on, that he could definitely tell I was not 18 and asked how many children I have at my age... I have a feeling my manicurists day didn't end too well by the energy in the room when I left, they knew what he'd done. Very kind staff, just the longer I sit on the whole situation I just become more and more disappointed. Update: It's been a rough evening trying to clean this up myself, and I had to go spend even more money to do so sanitized and safely. Just know they'll charge you for a job like this. She gave me suggestions as to what lashes look good with my eye-shape and did such a beautiful job. I recently got Gel-X nails and it's been a GAME CHANGER. They've lasted me 5 weeks and I haven't broken a single nail compared to when I do acrylics. Once you arrive, they place you in the massage chair (if getting a pedicure) while offering complimentary mimosas, the best viet iced coffee, soda or water. My first visit here was GREAT! Second time I felt like my entire appointment was rush not to mention the 30-35 min wait to be helped and that's with an appointment. Although I appreciate how they offered me a free gel removal, it wasn't completed taken off. You can see the previous red gel I had within my new set of acrylics. I would have gladly paid the extra $5 if it meant to completely take off my previous bright red gel in order to fully enjoy the clear acrylic look I was going for. Absolutely the best !!! I had a second appointment today. It was as awesome as the first. Today I had Jamie for a mani/pedi. It was on point. I don't like acrylic or gel. My nails are perfect. The salon is quite with soft music. This may sound crazy but even the customers bring a Zen to the salon. Everyone is so kind and interested in your happiness, I love the staff. I have had services with Tiffany and today Jamie, I highly recommend both of them. A basic mani/pedi is $55 plus tip. For some that may seem expensive, but I assure you it's worth it. Ok experience. Went with my mom and most of them who work there act like they have more important things to do then to talk to you and ignore you. I have been here about 3 times, the first time was fine so I returned once again being new in Santa Maria area. I got gel French tip nail polish. The second time I returned they removed my gel polish and there was a dark black spot under my toe nail I noticed slightly when the polish was on. I have never in my life had a toe infection so I assumed I dropped something on my toe, the guy asked me what happened to your toe? Making actually think to myself when did I drop something on myself so hard it left a bruise ? I said not sure and we continued on. Then he asked what color Id like I replied the same French tip style and he refused because my "bruise" would show through. I went with a solid color, the next time I returned I had two bruises on the same toe and another on my other big toe. I knew I was taking a risk going here being a cosmetologist my self knowing these places aren't the most sanitary I noticed the autoclave packaging in the cart but the clippers out already as if previously used but being dumb I went ahead with the service. These places use the same un sanitary tools on other people over and over & I went to the doctor to find out these dark spots are infections caused by un sanitary tools being used on me. I will never return to any salon now on I'm doing my own toe nails. Very very disappointed but this is what you should expect from these large shops they save time to get more clients and infect them rather then waiting a few to disinfect implements. Please do your own toe nails or just find a place where you know for certain the items are disinfect correctly. If I can give no stars I would. Because it won't let me comment back to the owner; Why weren't fresh implements used? That's what causes infections in people and I've seen the little cart you use rolled on over from person to person without disinfecting correctly you can't just dip in alcohol and move on there is a process you must follow to avoid this which you clearly are NOT doing or there wouldn't be this problem. read more

This review is for Shirley A who posted a rating yesterday 3/24/22. This lady is a total Karen who felt very entitled. I was the client in the chair, I told Ivy I would wait to finish my nails so the crazy Karen could get her service and leave. Shirley A. walked into the salon at 1:30 pm. She got up a couple seconds after having a seat and yelled at Ivy. Demanding to know how long it would be. Ivy said it would be 15-20 minutes. To which Karen replied no this is unacceptable, my time matters, have you read your reviews! They are all awful. This whole time she's yelling like a crazy person. There were 3 other people in the salon along with me and my 13 year old daughter. As we walked to the waiting area...Karen glared at us like a crazy person... she then sat at Ivy's station and proceeded to belittle Ivy she kept yelling at Ivy at one point she even told Ivy that Ivy was being rude even though Ivy was keeping her cool and staying quiet and taking it. My daughter happened to walk to Ivy Station to drop off the color samples and she overheard this crazy lady continuing to berate Ivy talking about how horrible her reviews are yet she is sitting in the salon with Ivy getting her nails done. My daughter snapped and told her that there was other people present and it was not OK for her to be talking to Ivy that way. You know you are the problem when a child has to call you out on your behavior. This lady should be ashamed of herself she attempted to humiliate Ivy she was very rude to everyone in the salon. Unfortunately Ivy is too nice of a person to refuse service to her but she should've refused service to her the moment she walked in and started demanding to be seen when everybody there had an appointment. So one of my friends referred me here. She goes to one of the guys and gets his nails done. So I decided to try it and get a fill. I made an appointment a few days prior. So I walk in and tell the lady I'm trying this place for the first time. The last place was really too expensive. She says she can do a fill for $35 which was great. The first min or two after sitting down she's drilling down my nails while on the phone with a personal call for the first ten min or so. I was tempted to walk out but didn't. Once she gets off the phone I said I heard you have mimosas here. She ask where did you hear that, I said Yelp and my friend. Then ask another worker to get me one lol. If she wasn't on the phone prior she could of asked me, is what I was thinking. Then once more got on the phone and was face timing her husband and dog. Finally she gets to the drying part. They have gel machines on each side for each hand, which is nice but each were different. One was the original kind im familiar with the other was new where you stick your entire hand in. Well I guess it didn't finish my thumb and she even mentioned it. Then painted another coat over it and I cured it again. Well, later that day I notice it's a huge bubble. It never dried right. So I call first thing am and ask if I can get it fixed. So I go in and the lady I had was just rude as I was sitting down. She says well you didn't stick your hand in right so it dried wrong. I said I'm not familiar with the new gel machine and you shouldn't of let me leave, if you knew it wasn't cured right. She said she didn't know but she had even told me it wasn't right. She was just too lazy to redo it the first time. I'm never going back there. So disrespectful and rude. They have only been there a year and I doubt they will be there for another! read more
