I love Indian food, and despite this place being across the street from my flat, it took me 9 months before I finally got around to going in it.
It had been recommended very strongly by my housemates (both Indian), so I eventually went in with my friend Amit (also Indian) and I feel like a tool for not having gone inside sooner!
The atmosphere inside is very, very lively. It's frequented a lot by the Punjabi community (but not exclusively), which certainly loves its food and dance and music. The place is buzzing at all hours.
King Karahi has an amazing scent of Indian spices and fragrances that hit you as soon as you walk in, with scents of cooking food wafting out of the open kitchen. Your mouth is watering before you even eat.
The fare is varied, you have all the food you would expect from an Indian restaurant, and the list is quite extensive. I had some masala lamb chops that had me licking my fingers (and the pan) for a good 30 minutes after I was done!
I tried another 2 dishes that I can't remember what they were called, but OMG they were like an explosion of flavour bursting in my mouth!
Definitely go, if you get a chance. I'm told by many local Indians that this is the best Indian restaurant in the area (and the food I had certainly makes me agree!) read more
