Puyallup Police Department

The only good thing about this place was the receptionist that answered the phone. If you're…read morecalling to make a complaint about a sheriff or policeman, forget it they'll always side with their own. The Sergeant literally called me with a pre-notion already from the video he watched defending his coworker. All I said was for him to have a little bit more patience and stop being so assertive for nothing considering he's the one that pulled me over and wants to give me a ticket. I don't think you need to rush an individual. The sergeants response was well we have to give citations in a timely manner and all policeman have an assertiveness when they speak.. I doubt I was gonna take up an hour of this guy's time considering he was already sitting across the street just waiting for somebody to make his quota and I'm sorry no not everyone has the same approach with how they speak to someone or else the police force would be worse than it already is in the public's eye. Good luck out there WA people.

Horrible police department that I've been trying to report sexual assaults for over the past year…read moreand have received little to no assistance. Instead, I received mockery, sarcasm, and a jurisdiction excuse for reporting when I have called both the 911 and the non-emergency line even with public business places I know that are within their jurisdiction. You'll be lucky if you can even get them to answer the phone. The couple of times that I did, I had to go through an out of city police department's phone number to have them call Puyallup to then call me. After playing phone tag, I still had to wait about 6 hours before an officer showed up to take a report in which was already way too late and dark outside for me to get back to that location while dealing with multiple attacks of sexual violence. I've even spoken to many officers in-person that I've seen at locations around Puyallup around Meridian Ave. including a Sargeant Melkorz who was less helpful than every other officer that I've spoken to when it comes to answering questions in regards to reporting sexual assault. He along with 19 other officers answered me with more victim blaming statements. The only difference is that Melkorz handed me his card that was stolen out of my phone wallet shortly afterwards when he was standing in front of my church in the evening. There were a couple of officers that I've had success with during a sexual assault nurse examination (S.A.N.E. medical rape test) while in the hospital who had successfully taken down incident details of the cases. While living in my vehicle homeless, I had been harassed and abused in so many ways from this particular police department including stalking. They have been giving me falsified traffic infractions for about over 5 years now while not following the law most of the time including turning on their cameras on their vests. The most recent ticket given to me for no reason while a cop car was following me was from Officer Shaun Nestor. When attempting to report online anything within their jurisdiction, their website leads to a dead end. There is no online form to be submitted for reporting. When going to the page to the "Report a Crime in Progress" webpage, it only mentions to call 911 and not even the non-emergency line. In the "Crime Not in Progress" webpage, there's more details here, but still no option for reporting online even though I had followed a link to another site last week while on this same website. In person, I was given by one of the ladies at the front desk who was very rude to me and wouldn't answer any of my questions and stayed dismissive, a small square sheet of paper that mentioned southsound911.org for reporting due to jurisdiction issues of the home address. But when the address has to deal with a business address within their jurisdiction, the website still leads to errors. I was brought to southsound911.org, but an error message would pop up because Puyallup Police Department is not listed at the bottom While carefully scanning their website, their instructions for reporting led to just calling.

A special thank you to the Enumclaw PD for the brief time in jail tonight -a clerical error…read moresurrounding a traffic violation somehow justifies being pulled out of the car, cuffed, treated like shit, booked and put in jail before bail is posted 45 minutes later. Great use of our tax dollars and everyone's time, you're doing fantastic work out there keeping the streets safe Officer Abel (and two other officers that we're 'backing him up' on the exciting arrest). And making sure the cuffs where as tight as they'd go on the hands of a cooperative subject -a TRAFFIC VIOLATION subject no less- was an ace move. Way to exert your manliness over a guy who wasn't even questioning it or offering resistance in the least. Now I know why people hate cops. Him insisting I didn't have insurance while looking at my VALID insurance card was cool -he added a 'no insurance' infraction and fine to the ticket (I've had insurance forever). Along with BOTH 'driving with a suspended license AND 'driving without a valid license. Which is it, how can it be BOTH?! So I check my files and sure enough, the ticket that caused my license to be flagged in the first place was for EXPIRED TABS (they expired 9/2010, I got the ticket on 9/8/2010) and was ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF in DEC 2010. I even have the letter from the DOL stating as much. THANKS for the fantastic night, officers and WS DOL -your lack of attention to detail with your OWN paperwork and subsequent over-reaction was FANTASTIC! And really, THREE POLICE CARS to cuff and haul away a guy who was just driving his pregnant wife home from a friend's house? I hope to not visit this establishment again.

I actually have no problems at least with this police department, they helped us out when my buddy…read moredecided to be stupid in Greenwater, Yes I did get pulled over once by them- but the Police Officer that pulled me over was very professional and I would give him thumbs up, he didn't give me the ticket even though I was speeding. So overall, I have no issues with this police department (unlike the Fife Police which I dont like)
