Hostess is very rude. I used to go for lunch often when I worked in Everett. Stopped in today after being retired for over ten years. The price was what I expected but I mentioned it seemed expensive and put a twenty dollar bill on the counter to pay. The expensive remark was intended to start a friendly conversation about how I haven't been there in over ten years. However she got mad and told be to go eat somewhere else. I ended up having a good lunch at Taco Time. If she would have taken my money I would have explained that I hadn't been there in a long time and the price was fine. That may have included an apology. For the price of a single entree at most other "Chinese" restaurants you get all you can eat here. This is not fine dining of course, but the food is pretty good. When I went at 12:30 on a Tuesday it was nearly deserted, but buffet well stocked and everything hot. I was pleasantly surprised by a few dishes such as breaded shrimp and scallops. The decor is well worn but place looks clean. As other reviews point out there is no hand sanitizer but I carry my own and use it before and after each trip to the buffet. With scant few buffets left (moment of silence please for Old Country Buffet) I welcome a place that can put out good food for a low price. Keep your expectations reasonable!! read more

This buffet is by far the most subpar in quality. - The Chinese donuts were a bit hard - I tried the salmon- it tasted stale and hard - The general quality of the food tastes extremely cheap, even compared to Grand Buffet. The food did not feel fresh at all. It was generally a bit bland and is likely premade. - The chow mein noodles especially felt cheap compared to all the buffets I've went to. - The food diversity wasn't good at all - The sushi was probably on-par with Grand Buffet (very cheap, cream cheese, cucumber, a lack of raw fish diversity, etc.) I went during the summer of 2022 during a lunch hour. I go out to lunch a couple times a month. The last 2 times going to king buffet, the food was satisfactory. Today, a different story. I found at least 4 things that were burned, some pretty badly. Some of what wasn't burned, tasted really old. When I ask I was told it was put out 20 minutes ago. Now, they opened at 11:00 and I got there at 12:10. The only way it could be like that, is the food was leftover. I told her I couldn't do it. And started to walk out. She told me, "This is a buffet, you eat whats there." I said not me, and left. If I could give zero stars I would. Place is dirty, you can tell the food has been sitting out for awhile. There was hardly anyone there even though we were there on a Saturday evening during dinner time. They had a habachi grill.... I questioned how the meats were chilled (it looked very questionable) yet I still had them cook up a dish for me anyway. 6 hours later, I'm now at home with horrible food poisoning (no doubt from the grill) in addition to maybe whatever else had been sitting out there with no temperature control or monitor. Went to Thanksgiving dinner there. They had turkey and no other thanksgiving food items. Turkey was cold as well as other food items. They over salted most of the food. The food was of poor quality. Lesson learned, will not eat there again unless they change hands. read more

We came in for a quick lunch when the person we were meeting at one of the nearby stores was running late. We asked for a table for two and the hostess was quick to say, "you pay first". We did and were told to seat ourselves. The restaurant is not very well lit, but it was fairly clean. There is quite a large variety of dishes, but sadly, the quality of some of the dishes leave a lot to be desired. Some looked and tasted old and dry. I don't like giving bad reviews but I'm forced to do one for this establishment. The setting is so so. Clean but not very inviting. It might have been the time I visited 4:00pm. But the food selection was sparce. With many of the trays 1/4 full of wilted or cool food. The only real hot food was the soup and one of the spicey chicken dishes. The Desert tray was filled with a good selection of deserts. The sushi area was available but I had known idea how old it was. I would not recommend this Restaurant to my friends or family. They change the trays and leave the same food in there. Most of it isn't even fresh, its leftovers from days before. I came here with the appetite to eat noodles and chicken and my favorite donuts. Donuts were hard, chicken noodles with teriyaki sauce smelled and tasted bad. Floors are sticky, it's always empty in there whenever we go eat, but food wasn't as bad as it was today. I highly recommend the King's Buffett. It seems to be a family-owned business, it's clean and the food is GREAT. It's a simple but attractive place and the staff is friendly. I've been coming here for a few years every once in a while and I'm NEVER dissapointed. There's a GREAT variety of different foods, both cooked and raw, considering the size of the restraunt, which I'd say is medium. I'm not even a customer of Asian food most of the time except for this place and another one on Everett Mall Way, which I haven't been to for a few years now and that one was good too. The name of that one used to be "Lucky Buffett." However, I've been to the King Buffett several times in that same time period, including last week and today's date is May 12, 2018. I tell you, folks, if someone has a problem with diarrhea or indigestion after coming to King Buffett, it's most likely NOT caused by the restaurant but something else instead, if you ask me anyway, even though I'm NO doctor. I'm going to be honest with you. I haven't tried everything at the King Buffett like the Mongolian grill but it looks FABULOUS. I haven't tried everything on the buffet either but that looks and smells FABULOUS too, if that's any help to you. By the way, that part of the restraunt is clean too. One of the items I've tried there is the Won Ton Soup, which was simple but GOOD. I wish I could remember everything I've tried but like I said, I'm NEVER dissapointed. I ALWAYS remember leaving there feeling like they did a BANG-UP, INCREDIBLEY GREAT job so I SALUTE them. Oh, they have a Frappachino or similar machine, a milk machine with both chocolate and I guess 2 percent white milk and the soda machine includes peach-flavored, no or low-calorie Lipton Tea. For those who want ice cream, there's about four different flavors. Plus, there's small pieces of different cakes and cookies as well. It's an "all you can eat" type of place, as noted in their name, King BUFFET. If you're like me and appreciate some HEALTHY food, there's PLENTY of that too. ONE other thing that is REALLY IMPORTANT to note is that there's a sign at the buffet that tells us to ONLY take the amount of food that we REALLY ARE able to eat in one trip to the buffet. They HATE seeing us waste food and that may be because they're FORCED to RAISE prices when we waste too much food. Something to think about. If you want LOW prices at a BUFFET restraunt, it's a GOOD idea to be CAREFUL regarding the amount of food you CAN REALISTICALLY eat. PLEASE keep this in mind even though our eyes are often WAY BIGGER than our stomachs can REALLY handle. This is fair to EVERYONE so that we can ALL enjoy the GREAT food for GREAT prices. Thank you! We have gone to King Buffet in the past and will go again. We went yesterday 09092021. We hadn't been in over a year. The food for the most was is good. We have gone in in the past and yes, some of the food could have been hotter. And yes, empty trays suck! But, in their defense it's hard to keep trays full when you have two people in line take everything in a tray! The soups were so hot you had to wait to eat it! (that's a good thing) all the other items I tried were very warm if not hot as well. They have really done a 180 since the last time we were there. Pretty much all the food I had was warm and seemed rather fresh. There were more empty trays out than I would have liked, but it was still a good selection for lunch. Nice quiet spot to eat for a fairly inexpensive price. I came during lunch hours on a weekday and the total was only $23 for a family of three. I think the kids price was under a dollar. Big plus. All the food is hot and there weren't any empty plates. For only having a few workers, they keep everything filled. The entree food was good, but the shu mai and buns were soggy. Fillings weren't great either. Soups were decent, but most of the pastry deserts were too dry. The Mongolian grill was probably the best part.
