Good variety tasty food. Seafood medley with crawfish, shrimp, snow crab is surprisingly good. Enjoyed the hot and sour soups, fried chicken and pork ribs too. Didn't try the cooked to order. Mongolian BBQ. $20 for dinner before tax and tip is pretty good value. They didn't charge me for hot tea. read more

Great variety from salad bar to Chinese food to some American food and plenty of seafood. They keep it clean and well staffed. They seemed really efficient, and it was pretty cute that there were several regulars there on a busy Sunday, getting hugs and warm greetings from the staff. They even had ham and roast beef to self-carve. It would be extra nice if they had someone there carving and serving it. It's kind of hard to do and not make a mess but it's a keeper regardless read more

The Chinese food was very good with a great selection and lunch price of $16/person was very reasonable. Recommend and would eat there again. read more

Server was had an attitude, which killed the mood, food was old, wife got sick and ended up throwing up in the restroom

The food was delicious and very fresh! Everything was clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back. Highly recommend! read more

I'm a big fan of Asian buffet restaurants, but this one is definitely one to skip. I went before noon, and the food was already luke warm. Just a whole lot of bland. I actually wondered if I was eating leftovers. I'd recommend skipping Royal Star and going to Four Seasons in Burlington instead. read more

Very friendly staff, all the food was fresh was a very good price. Very good selection. They have a soft serve ice cream machine, which is very good, sushi very good selection of Asian food and including a Mongolian grill. read more

Stopped in a 5pm f ood was luke warm need to restock more. The egg flower soup was not very good.

Terrible maintenance of food quality. I had talked to them about it on a previous visit. Decided to give them another chance today. When i tried to talk to them about the shortcomings of everything, they basically ushered me out and didn't want to hear any of it . I won't be back. As a professional cook of 35 years, it's not like i don't know anything. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! read more

Our family visited this buffet because we were interested in trying a new place. The staff here was nice, they kept our drinks filled and plates cleared. The food here was ok, not the best but it was a slightly later lunch hour. Alot of the food really could of used more salt or flavor, but it was still decent. The restaurant seemed slightly older but it was fairly open and spacious, however I would avoid the bathrooms as they were rather dirty. Overall, this restaurant the food is mediocre the staff was nice but I would avoid the restrooms lol. read more

$36 for 2 plus Tip. Excellent Chinese food. A Seafood Boil with Dungeness Crab Oysters, schrimp mussels Alot of Seafood. You cannot beat the price read more

I wish the meatloaf had had less salt. But, most importantly, when there is natural fruit being served, really important for the restaurant NOT to add extra sugar. I wanted to eat unadulterated fruit, but adding sugar like this worsened the taste (and health value). Are you trying to make us diabetic?? read more

We love the Chinese food here and the people are great too. Lots of seafood, Mongolian bbq, good choices of dishes, salad & dessert bars and free hot tea. read more

I've been to a bunch of buffets including high end ones like feast and mizuki etc. this is hands down the best one I've been to. The service is good, the food is amazing. There are many options and the flavor is great. read more

The food was amazing the service was great! The ambiance was pretty good. I like the ice cream, mac & cheese, garlic bread and chicken strips! I would say in all it an awesome place to eat. (That part of the review was from my 10 year old) From an adult perspective the banana pudding, sugar donuts and éclairs were good. They had mash potatoes, gravy, roast beef ribs, salad, sushi, Chinese food and an area for cooking options right in front of you. I'm not complaining about the selection. The kids are happy am I. read more

First time customer. Came during late lunch so the food was cold and did not taste very good at all. The prices are the best part of this place. Buffets just aren't what they used to be but nowadays nothing is. Might be willing to try again... read more

This place is pretty good, they have a decent selection with tons of American food. The price is great for what you get, the staff is very friendly and they have a private parking lot... They are closed on Tuesday, so keep that in mind.... The reason for the three stars is that the furniture is a bit dated, and worn out, and it is not the "Cleanest " of places... It is not 5 star dining, but it definitely gets the job done read more

The food is great and tasty. The staff always pleasant to assist with drink refills and clearing the table. Having a clean restaurant is a good thing. Thank you read more

I miss when it used to be a country buffet called royal fork. Those were the good days. I was so excited to try the Chinese food version but I was disappointed. So tasteless! I do rolling 36-72hr fasts and OMAD for weight loss and when I came here to break my fast my hopes were ruined by tastelessness. read more

Disgusting and overpriced for lunch. Horrible selection Sushi was obviously not fresh, almost like it's from Cash and Carry or some kind of food service company. No dim sum type food Dessert was seriously lacking. We came here pre-covid for dinner and it was JUST ok. Royal Star Buffet - Lunch price with water for beverage. - Buffets Near Me - Mount Vernon, Washington

I'm currently on an IV to replenish fluids due to the chronic diarrhea I'm dealing with after eating here. I've never had medium rare chicken before, I guess it's a delicacy. Service and ambiance was to be expected for a buffet - people clearing your plates as herds of cattle empty the buffet line continuously. Doctor says I will have to wear a diaper for the rest of my life after eating here. read more

DON't pay any attention to the negative post from a few months ago. My wife and I went to Royal Star today (8/10/2023) and not only did everything I had looked and tasted good. Of course at a buffet you can't try everything but all that I didn't try also looked good. I had mussels, honey shrimp, roast beef, fried fish as well as a few salads and cheesecake for dessert. Whether you've been there before or not Please give this place a chance. The food is great. The employees are attentive and the family that runs the place make sure things are as you expect. read more

We're long- time customers who absolutely love the food and the family that owns the restaurant. The sushi is made daily, and the sliced ginger and wasabi is spicy. I have yet to find anything that I tried that I did not like. Over all our visits have been enjoyable and we'll keep coming to our favorite buffet. read more

My wife and I have been going there for years, great selection, friendly staff, one of the few restaurants we have felt really comfortable and relaxed. Great selection of very enjoyable dishes and not over salted (important for those of us on low sodium diets). Very well managed by an family ( three generations working together) and they work along side the employees. Fresh sushi bar, Mongolian grill, great selection of Chinese and American dishes with salad bar, topped off with desert selections (you can even prepare your own waffle and top it with ice cream) What more could you want. We have had family gatherings and attended large luncheons there. It's a real hidden treasure in the middle to Skagit Valley. We thoroughly enjoy each visit read more

I knew I was taking a serious gamble, lost big time! Salmon was poisonous or lethal, Gawd Awful muscles and clams, nothing was fresh. Couple of chit plates of chit food for shy of $30. Biggest waste of money of the year! I recommend a taco shop to suit your needs SUPER YUCK!!!!!!!! read more

Royal Star Buffet - two musselling mussellings on a plate with a fork - Buffets Near Me - Mount Vernon, Washington

I'm sure arriving at 8pm had something to do with the food quality, but really...should it be left out past its prime? I get it's a buffet and some of the items were tasty. A previous reviewer commented on the poorly behaved children..I wonder if he thought they were customers...cause all the kids tonight belonged to those working...or perhaps they were being baby sat. Running around making noise under foot, not a peaceful meal. I think the 11 year old was acting as host/running the till. Oh well probably a good lunch option. I'll not be back. read more
