I don't get educated by watching the news. Here is the list of things I have observed: The newer news anchors are talking faster. More boobs are showing to grab attention. Their attires tend to enhance the boobs. I like the weather man Palmer. He is professional and speaks in a normal tone. His sidekick weather woman talks so fast as if she is going to miss her plane. She makes my head spin. Evening is supposed to be a relax time without the alcohol. I decided to listen to NPR in the evening to catch up the financial market and the local and world news instead.

I'm retired and I don't get up at 4:30 anymore so I like to watch the National News desk and then catch the daily news afterwards. Unfortunately, you have no idea which day they're going to air. There was a Tuesday where they showed the previous Friday's broadcast. Today they showed yesterday's broadcast. As much as I love the morning crew, it does make me wonder how reliable their broadcasts are if they can't even take care of a website which is so easily programmable these days. I wish they would fix this because I've always felt they were the least biased of all of the current local stations.

I find that it skips over the ages 12-25 in terms of demographics because it shows kid's shows and things geared towards older people like the antiques roadshow. If they did a program that was more relevant for our age group more youth would watch it. I find that when it comes to educational TV the history channel and discovery are better. One thing that did not make logical sense to me was in Arthur the cool kids loved school, homework and things of that sort. Of course I watched this as a child in the late 90's so it could have changed. Most of the kids I knew that liked school had no social life and were often picked on. I don't feel it's right to cram more learning into a kids day. It's like coming home after a busy day of work and watching a show on how wonderful work is. As a kid I thought my parents were trying to brainwash me into liking school!

The College Friend and I weren't able to attend the other food/drink event at the KCTS 9 studios. But we froze waiting in line, hoping to get a good seat for the later free panel event. I remember we had had a terrific time chatting with a couple that had just moved from Chicago to Seattle. I was able to get tips for an upcoming trip to the upper midwest, just wished I was brilliant and actually exchanged contact info. I remember feeling so much pride seeing so many Filipino/Filipino American participants from the greater Seattle community from the cultural presentation from UW students to the folks on the panel with Chef Samuelson. I enjoyed the venue hosting the event that is adjacent to the Seattle Opera. Decent seating and interior, well emceed, and an overall memorable event. Thank you KCTS 9 for having terrific programming and community events like this.

I watch pbs in LA , great station,lucky them. Seattle is cursed with one of the worst PBS Stations and Classical music stations. It's embarrassing.
