I was treated as if I had hip pain and needed to stretch my hamstring muscles. These stretches caused back pain and did nothing to resolve the numbness in my thigh. Yesterday as I was waiting for Stacey a young lady (another McKenzie) from the the front counter asked me to come to it as we have an issue with some of your appointments. So she proceeded to tell me that my allotment of appointments will have to be reduced as per the paperwork they have. I tried to explain to her my side of the story but she did not want to listen to one word I was saying. She even went as far as to tell me she would be reducing the remaining appointments I have. I asked her if we could discuss this tomorrow when I bring in my paperwork which would show she was wrong. After some further talking I convinced her to this. So when I got home I found my paperwork and called. What was really annoying was when I told her that my paperwork would show that she was wrong she basically told me she would not believe it. She is even the office manager. She sure should learn to to be lot more tactful when dealing with situations like this. She was actually rude to me. I use the facility located in the Oak Hill shopping center up by Lake Nacimiento. From the very beginning Wendy, Amy, and Ryan have done their very best to help me regain use of my arm and shoulder after an accident I had this past summer. They are very in tune to their patient's needs, and are excellent at answering any questions you may have regarding your therapy. The team encourages you to step out of your comfort zone, but not in a way to where you would injure yourself. When I started my therapy over a month and a half ago, I had very serious doubts on what physical therapy could actually do to help me with my injury; I worried that my arm might not ever get better. Little by little Wendy and her team have worked to get my arm moving again and after every appointment I can see and feel the difference. If you're in the Heritage Ranch or Oak Shores area and require physical therapy, please give these folks a try. One of the reasons Medicare said that they were refusing to extend my girlfriends stay was because she refused to get PT. All she wanted was to get her pain meds(see two above) before getting physical therapy. Not an unreasonable request. I could go on and on but why?

I have been a neuro client of Alyson's for a few months now and as someone who has been in & out of…read morephysical therapy for the past 8 years, it feels important to share that this experience has been very different than any PT I've experienced prior. Most of what I've experienced before has been repair of injuries. (Also important!) As someone who struggles with muscle spasticity and holding tension, I regularly tear, pull, and tweak muscles & tendons. I was seeking to find targeted PT that could actually address the root cause and hopefully prevent what has felt like a continuous cascade of injuries. I'm feeling incredibly hopeful about this therapy! Already I have regained some abilities like being able to put my socks on while standing on one leg, and my confidence in my Achilles and other vulnerable areas is growing. Alyson is a very empathetic listener, builds rapport quickly, has a clear & highly intelligent individualized care plan, and yet is incredibly responsive as immediate needs arise. Her hands-on approach really helps me - I notice changes in my muscles as we work them together. She also takes the time to teach me about my muscles and tendons - and the rationale behind each muscle movement. For the first time in many years I am hopeful about the future in terms of maintaining and improving (!) my physical fitness as I continue to age. Living with MS certainly has its challenges - I'm grateful Alyson and the super friendly team at PRPT for their support and their ability to teach what's possible. Highly recommend!
