I bought this software about a month ago. I paid $29.95 although I see it is now advertised for…read more$39.95. It definitely locks the file. The problem is that it does not unlock the file. I tried repeatedly. I then contacted support (who I purchased it from which is a credit card service). They immediately forwarded me to Michelle Rossevelt at the company NewSoftwares. I do not know who she is: owner, customer support, etc. She replies once daily on Monday - Fridays 9PM - 4AM Pacific Time. Yes: she replies ONLY at night. She doesn't answer the phone. She refuses to talk on the phone. She did want to talk on Skype. I do not have Skype. She refused to communicate any other way. I explained the problem. She answered but her answers were garbage & not helpful. I finally said that she might as well refund my money. She was asked to resolve my problem MANY times or refund my money. All she did was to talk a little (in writing). I finally contacted her credit card service. They were fast to refund my money. Warning: Remember that I PAID for this. However, before I paid, there was a warning that I would only be able to have several (I forget the number) uses before I had to pay. I was testing it on & off (I did turn it on & off ONCE) until it locked me out permanently. Inputting the password made NO difference. It refused to work. I ended up formatting the flash drive (losing the files) so I could use the flash drive.

I have been using the program for 5 years and I am continuously infuriated by its user unfriendliness. Most recently, they have reprogrammed all the part numbers such that they no longer match the numbers used by Mark Kay. You have to figure out that you have to add "100" at the beginning, and that doesn't work 100% of the time. The invoices won't total certain items or let you manually override to do so. Their customer service is limited to normal business hours when most reps work their real jobs, making it incredibly frustrating to get any help. I truly hate this program and I don't use that word often. But I don't know of any alternative and it's better than nothing for those of us who like to keep meticulous records.

Lucky for me, Google brought Steve's company up and because he had such a good rating, I gave him a call. Steve thought the new motherboard would take a week to order/arrive but it was here in 4 days & he came over the day he got it and got my PC back up and running! His labor was $180 (2 hours/2 trips to my house) & the motherboard was $100. That was a small price to pay for him to be able to save all the work, photos, music, movies I had on my hard drive! If you ever think your computer has burned out & died, call Steve before buying a new one and starting everything (re-installing everything & re-doing tons of work) over.
