I've been a Kinetic customer for over two years, primarily due to limited internet options in my area. However, with a new provider now available, I decided to cancel my service. I acknowledge that service quality can vary by location, and I don't fault Kinetic for the slow 15 Kbps speeds I experienced. My primary concern is the billing practices and customer service I encountered. Since January, my bill has increased three times, each by approximately $10 per month, despite no improvements to my service. When I called to cancel, I was offered a $40 plan to stay, which I declined. I needed service to continue for a few days past my billing cycle until my new provider was set up. However, I was informed that Kinetic does not prorate bills, meaning I would be charged a full $93 for just a few days of service. Despite my request for flexibility--such as a partial credit or adjustment--no accommodations were offered, though they continued to push the $40 plan to retain me. As a business owner who works from home, reliable internet is critical, and the lack of flexibility left me frustrated. I canceled my service to avoid the additional $93 charge, even though going without internet for a few days was inconvenient. I hope this feedback encourages Kinetic to reconsider their billing policies and approach to customer retention with more flexibility. This experience has left a negative impression, making it difficult for me to recommend Kinetic to others. read more

I have been a Windstream subscriber for a little over a year. Since I work from home, my internet connection is vital! The service has been great and problem free. In the last two weeks, however, I have lost my internet twice, which resulted in a huge inconvenience. Windstream's customer service was on top of it! Technician Robert (Luke) came to my house and went above and beyond to restore my connection. Fittingly, I call him "Skywalker"!!! The lost service was not Windstream's fault. Rather, I learned, construction crews in my area were cutting lines, causing the disruption in service to me and several other residences and businesses. If you are blessed to live long enough, you learn that s%*t happens. Most times it is out of the service provider's control. When things happen, it's how they respond that makes all the difference! Many thanks and big kudos to the Windstream support staff for taking great care of me! The first time they sent technician Phil, who is great, thorough knowledgeable and professional. The last two times, "Skywalker" (Robert/Luke) was dispatched and each time he made sure I was solidly up and running before he left. He deserves a cape... and a light saber!! These techs rock and they are BUSY!!! I appreciate all they do to make sure we all stay connected! When things go south - and they will, give them a chance to make it RIGHT!!! read more

Do not trust this company. Please do not enroll in autopay. On March 18th I disconnect the phone and internet service. In April they took the full amount for the service, I called customer service about the charges her name is Swati Reddy, and she said she would take care of the matter. In May they took another 200 out of my account. I called again I talked to another customer service person Janelle Forbs, and she said we would reimburse the fund to my account and in June of 2024, they again took the amount from my bank account. Today is June 13th. I am talking to Vikas Reddy, and he says my account is still pending close. From March 18th. to June 13th the account is still pending to close because they have access to my account. This company is a fraud. I wish I could give them a negative rate read more

Terrible customer service. They tell you people will call you back and never do. The port is not working down the street from me, reported in July 2022. It is still not fixed, left 3 messages for engineering to call me for the status as directed by the technicians. No call backs. The temp. line was damaged and replaced. Tech today, 10/14, days the port is still not fixed. Why and what is the hold up? This is ridiculous!! I would change companies but they are the ONLY ones that serve my area. read more

Very very very hard to get to talk to a person. Takes so long to actually get help by a human. You have to know the numbers to who ever and what ever set it up for you. Was hard to reconnect the service back if it was disputed. Some TVS are harder then others to reconnect. You have to be a computer expert to figure it out. Give any other provider a chance before Windstream or just use your phone for a hot spot. There is no one call to get a human..STAY AWAY if you have a choice. read more

Iv lost my Internet connection again four days ago for no apparent reason. Apparently it takes a week to send someone out according to the person who barely spoke English. Everyday I'm greeted with a text it's fixed but its not and I have to call again and start from the beginning. These people are the definition of incompetent. read more

Tried to cancel internet service, I got a run around had to make internet appointments to talk to anyone for any answers and they wanted to charge me $2188.00 early termination fees on a plan from 2018. This is a terrible company and is horrible at communication. This has gone on for months now and they are still charging me. read more

Currently an Xfinity customer was going to add or give these guys a try at my parents house they wanted me remove my credit freezes for There my credit report so they could run a credit check and give them my Social Security number and a credit card. I'm not buying a car or a house. You don't need to do a credit check. read more

If they cut your gas line putting fiber optic in, expect to pay for it yourself. We had to spend 1,000.00 for a plumber to fix it and windstream's answer was "yep, our people cut it. see you later."
