If there were a negative 5 stars I would rate Windstream as that! Their customer service is terrible. They refuse to provide a receipt of payment, which my company requires for all of my business transactions. When I saw the payment online it did not match the bill amount. When I called they told me there was a $6.95 processing fee-would have been nice if the person who took the payment on the phone would have told me that. They keep telling me that I can see the payment on the online account, but I made the payment for a client and do not have access to the online account. read more

Worst internet service you will ever in your lifetime waste your money on. When i get service most of the time its about 3.5mbps. Buffering all the time. Had this junk service since February. 3 different modems and when the service goes out will be at least 1 week before someone will come out. I say one thing that always works is the bill comes on time. I'm supposed to get high speed which i am billed for 10 mbps minimum. Junk service junk company. Run like your life depends on it. read more

Be Aware!!! My internet has been down since Mar 16th and the earliest they could send a tech out was April 1st! I run a business, so this is terrible. They have totally outsourced their customer service and they have no clue other than to read the script. The have complete lack of empathy or professional customer service. Then have the gall to ask you to review them. I will be looking for a new provider in NM as quick as I can. To the president and CEO Anthony W. Thomas, you may want to revamp your entire Customer Service experience. Terrible! read more

Had them for a few years untill September/Ocotober of last year. I decided to go with XFINITY for a better pkg. I had land phone service with Winstream. When I called to cancell my service with them THAT'S when the problem started. Importing the phone number over to Xfinity became such a storm that up to LAST WEEK they still had NOT COMPLETED THAT PROCESS !!!! After many calls it FINALY got done BUT I decided to have Xfinity give me a NEW HOME number and I called it a day. A refund was due me for over payment for the time that I did not have the sevice with them anymore and for which they charged me. I'M STILL WAITING FOR $96.00. They started laying down the fiber optic cables about 2 months ago in my sub division and what a mess that started. When they got on my block they somehow CUT some lines and some of us lost internet, and land phone connections as well. Xfinity has been to my home 3 times in 12 days and as recently as yesterday over the issue of NO internet or phone service because of this fiber optic thing. That I know of, we were NEVER notifide that this work was going to be done. They tore up grass, top soil on private property and blocked STOP SIGNS and driveways so you could barely get in. NOT ONLY that, BUT left HAY ALL OVER the street and on front lawns EVERYWHERE !!!!!! MY STREET LOOKS AWFUL. THERE'S "MORE" TO THIS CABLE THING........................? read more

Service was OK but pricey. Customer support however stinks. Made numerous calls to arrange return of modem. Each time I was assured an email with shipping label was on its way. Never got here. I gave uo in the end and shipped their modem at my expense just to get rid of the xxxxxxx thing. read more

No way to reach these people when having issues. It's like they don't want to hear from you yet continually want me to sign up for new services. The service drops constantly, always having to reset the modem and no customer service on the weekend! They also recently jacked up my bill by $25/month and I can't reach anyone to find out what's going on. read more

My mother has been without internet services for 3 weeks now. She has called twice since then, to set up a technician appointment. She was told " they can't give her a date or time for repairs" at this time. Wth, but she's being charged for service. This should be illegal. This is not the first time. Every time the wind blows service is interrupted. Buyer beware!! In preparation to find a new internet provider. read more

It would take too much space to write everything that I experienced when switching to the Kinetic fiber service so I will be leaving a lot out. After calling and discussing, I decided not to get the upgrade. They sent the tech anyway! This was on Thurs. before Labor Day weekend. As long as he was there, I went ahead and let him install it. Later, when I discovered I had no service for my laptop (cell and streaming tv were fine), I called. After only about 10 mins. and no questions or suggestions, Carlos told me it was my computer's fault. Called again and after being put on hold for 30 mins., Donald disconnected me. Eventually I received a "ticket" but was told they were swamped and couldn't come for 2 weeks!! After only taking one week to arrive to put it in and now you screw it up and tell me 2 weeks?! You are going to put more installations ahead of repairs? Or are they all repairs? After threatening to cancel, the tech did show up on Tues., the day after Labor Day and decided it was the modem's fault and put in a new one. A big, black ugly thing (7" long and 9 l/2" high) compared to my little, unobtrusive original. Worst part of all, it is absolutely NO faster and I totally regret the change and don't know how much longer I will stay with them. read more

I am a customer since October 2022. And every day I am sorry for my choice. I should leave current location in 2 month and no sense to reapply to other internet companies. I count every day to say goodbye and wish this company crush with such service. 1. You lie and manipulate with price since first bill. 2. Your speed barely up to 9 mbps instead of promised 100. 3. I was approved to ACP service Nov 12, but every month since that time your tellers saying I am asking to early and finally, today, one of your zero-knowledge person from billing department said you don't support ACP. 4. Your modem shuts down every week and make me to restart it. 5. When I report about that problem and was waiting your technician to fix problem - nobody came, but one week later 3 people came to install fiber optic. They had my address, but someone name. All of these should be enough to wish your company drop crush. So disgusting! read more

Worst customer service ever. And they know that they are the only option in some areas so they dont care. Long long story short 3 weeks waiting for installation. 3 order tickets , 17 representatives , 2 supervisors , 12 transfers to wrong departments. Still no service. WHY Ticket 1 We completed and closed the ticked. service installed. Nope Ticket 2 We cancelled the ticket bc there was already service at the address. They used the neighbors address from referral program from ticket 1. 2 names and 2 numbers that didnt match the neighbors. No call. NO knock on door. Just cancelled order. Ticket 3 Oopps the girl that made the ticket made the wrong type. it has an i and should have a T .. Supervisor 1 Ill escalate the ticket and call you back with update. No call back , just text with a apt with THE WRONG ADDRESS. So i call to correct AGAIn and no one will talk to me bc im not listed on the account ..what .. I talked to a supervisor yesterday . Supervisor 2 oh well. cant talk to you. Exact words " where is your husband, cant he just come to the phone real quick " pretty much go f myself. I threaten to call coorporate just bc of the way ive been treated . Supervisor #1 calls back ... tells me theres nothing she can do but keep the apt for a week from now .... I say the address is STILL wrong .. She says its okay, she made a note . The tech will understand ... read more

seriously I soooo wish Commerce, Ga would get spectrum. Windstream sucks so bad. I've tried to be patient, but y'all are stealing people's money, we know you can provide a better internet service because I've had it with others. I pay for 12mb for $30 a month(that's not a lot, for too much money) yet that can barely run just my phone and xbox without skipping and loading. Y'all talk about how fast your service is, and it's terrible. I mean my Spotify account even skips sometimes with the wifi I have with y'all. read more

Garbage!!! Not reliable, not friendly, prices are not reasonable for the amount of disconnecting that happens, customer service will hang up on you, $30 a month in fees alone, day 6 with no one coming to fix issue, will not give credits for time spent without service, and down right junk service! I will be so glad when First Electric gets their service up and running because I will be saying "see ya kinetic!!" read more

if I could give this company 0 stars I would. this is the worst internet I've had over the past 10 years living in 6 different locations across the United States. slow, unreliable and spotty connections. it's a monopoly because in most places they are the only service available and they'll charge more then Verizon or Comcast. The customer service teams are slow and will run you around a circle before you can get an answer. it's honestly pathetic. avoid at all cost read more

A relic of the past. They only get by via people like me who have no other internet providers in their area, so they can get away with charging premium prices for abysmal performance. If there were another ISP I could switch to, I would. Used to have MetroNet, and I'm really missing it. I rue the day when Windstream gets pushed out of the market by other ISP's that are actually providing a service, not just leeching cash like them. read more

Problem is these guys on a Monday morning. Instead of knocking on my door to ask me to move my truck they just drove around it and destroyed my grass. I have 12 inch hole ruts now. Could have been avoided. I worked so hard to make that grass nice. It just rained last night. Come on man. read more

its already unbelievable that we have to call at least every 2 weeks to have our modem reset, especially after the two years we have had with our service being out up to 38 times in a few months. And I thought it took the cake when a tech to unplugged our equipment at the main box to hook up a new customer, leaving us with no Internet for 8 days. But i must admit the last call I made to customer service really had me wondering about this company. I thought the rep was maybe outside on a farm with a tractor approaching, but nope! It was her falling asleep and snoring! I woke her the 3rd time before I realized she was just falying asleep on the line instead of trying to reset my modem. I couldn't report her because she never even entered any information during the 40 minute call she was napping on. This is unreal. And it is unfair we have no other options for our service. C'mon Windstream, this is pathetic! read more

Windstream is the absolute worst internet service we have ever had. They monopolize our city where we have no other choices which I don't understand why. It's unreliable, goes out all the time, every single day, and just can't keep up with anything. Yes they have come out multiple times to "improve" service, but has yet to work. One of our biggest neighborhood complaints as well as our school systems. Our schools can't totally do digital learning because windstream could NEVER keep up. Says we are supposed to get 50mpb which we dont ever. If I could give negative stars I would. I don't think they care since they know at this time we have no other choice in internet service. I would pay double just to have someone else. This is just ridiculous. read more

If I could give zero stars and still leave a review I would. They are not worthy of the single star rating. Windstream is the absolute WORST!! We had our bill changed to paperless and they had entered our city incorrectly, so the bill was late getting to us. Our service was disconnected before the bill ever arrived! When we realized that they had the city wrong, we called them to correct this and have service restored. They took two weeks to restore service and still DID NOT correct the address. It has taken 3 months to get the address corrected and every time we call we get someone that we cannot understand. When we ask to have a supervisor call us back no one ever does. We currently have internet as well as phone service with them. Our internet works SOME of the time and our phone does not work AT ALL. UNHAPPY CUSTOMER - LOOKING FOR NEW SERVICE PROVIDER AFTER 28 YEARS AS A CUSTOMER. It is no wonder that they have bankrupt themselves. If they actually provided a service worth paying for, if they actually had customer service that at least pretended to care; then MAYBE they would not lose the few customers they have, MAYBE they would not feel the need to WARN other customers about the poor service they provide. Just MAYBE if WINDSTREAM cared. read more

They are not informative, the first person I talk to just signed me up for shit, they have a chain of miscommunication from one employee to another, internet just cuts out randomly, I don't even get my full 250mbps speed. It's always downloading at 1 mega bite per second. I was overcharged had to call 3 times before the change was actually made. I'm very annoyed. read more

"It takes months to find a customer and only seconds to lose one!" It's been two weeks and I still do not have internet and phone service. Current customer of Kinetic internet service. Windstream Internet service is good until it isn't. I have been a customer of Windstream for almost 30 years, and was able to work from home during COVID while my kids were streaming. It is our only internet option in the rural area of western PA that we live in. When a storm knocks out your internet and phone service it is near impossible to get a real person on the phone to report the issue. You have to simultaneously stay on hold for 30 minutes plus, while trying to find a tech support rep to chat with online. If you are disconnected, it is another 30 minutes+ to try and reconnect and start the process all over again. The customer service is impossible to reach and near non-existent. After many hours on hold and another week later, still no service going on 2 weeks and unable to work remotely. The automated systems do not work correctly and links are "no longer active" as soon as you receive the text messages. If I had any other option, I would no longer be a customer. I would never recommend to a friend or family member. If your job is dependent on solid internet service for remote work, I would recommend that you look at other internet options that are available. I have lost all confidence in Windstream as an internet provider. Again, "It takes months to find a customer and only seconds to lose one!" read more

Worst Internet service I've ever dealt with. Internet speeds are not at all what you pay for. Customer service is unheard of. Good luck reaching someone. And if you think you can manage your account from home online then you are surely mistaken. No wonder they went bankrupt. read more

started on wrong foot. they didn't come on the initial date and never called to let us know. after two phone calls by us to them we were finally able to get it installed. It is fast and served our needs well. more than satisfied with the internet itself. However, 3 months in it quit. We call customer service and after a quite lengthy process of trying to resolve the issue over the phone they said they would need to set up a tech visit. I thought, great, let's get this done. this call was on June 22 and the my proceeded to tell me that July 4 was the earliest tech date available. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! 2 weeks! We know it will be at least the 5th, no one is coming out on the 4th. My whole house runs on this.if I had a better option I would cut this off in a heartbeat. Very dissatisfied with customer service. read more

9 days later, not one response from tech support has been the truth. still no tech at my house that was promised 9 days ago.

our phone line hasn't worked since we've became Customers 7 years ago which wasn't a big deal since we have cell phones we didn't even want the phone but they said we had to have it to get Internet then the internet just starts acting funky running slow and going out a lot then on top of that the Bill goes up every year for some odd reason like for real it went up $9 since last year so if you're thinking about getting service with this company DON'T read more

I had internet service installed on dec 5 the service stopped working sometime in the middle of the night and hasn't come back on since I have called Windstream 3 different times got hung up on the second called back to speak to a supervisor and never got to speak to one the internet service is crap anyways I'm only getting to 2 or 3 Mbps after being told by the very first representative that my area was prime for high speed internet 3 Mbps is not high speed. One reason that the internet service is such crap in my area could be caused by the fact that part of the phone lines we have in my neighbor are old and laying on the ground the service tech that installed my service said that the lines in this neighborhood have been on the ground for a long time and Windstream refuses to replace the lines or fix them even though Windstream is the only internet service in abbeville Georgia I don't advise anyone getting kinetic by windstream read more

Not only is it the worst internet I've ever had, it is probably the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with and thought that the jokes people made including myself about customer service we're funny until you actually call Kinetic by Windstream. Literally everything that you would think is a joke actually happens with this company. Everything from having an attitude while trying to figure out your automatic draft setup and telling you that you're broke because that's the only reason why the card would be declined all the way to completely looking up the wrong account and convincing you that not only have they made a mistake but that I made a mistake while setting up my account so now I have to have a technician come out and I just had complete new hardware mailed to my house. Mind you that I just called back 45 minutes after that phone call last week and spent an hour and a half on the phone just to get them to figure out my correct account so they could just flip the switch and turn my internet back on for the hardware that I already have . This company is at least entertaining at its core but it is definitely not an internet or customer service company . read more
