I paid with a $10.00 bill and was supposed to receive $4.64 in change. However, the store clerk informed me that she did not have the $0.04 to return. Although the amount may seem small, the principle of the situation is significant. If I had not had other commitments that day, I would have considered leaving the worms at the store and requesting a full refund or even protesting for the $0.04. It may sound petty to argue over such a small amount, but I believe that if I had underpaid for the product, I would not have been allowed to complete the purchase. This experience left me feeling dissatisfied with the service I received.

While she walked down one of the isles she could hear the dog yelping and crying. She looked over to the window and they had double wrapped the dogs head in a towel. One girl was squeezing the head and mouth while another cut her nails. My grandmother ran over and started knocking on the window telling her to give her the dog back! My grandmother was so nervous and upset she grabbed the dog and left. That night the dog needed to be rushed urgently to a vet. They had broken her jaw and required emergency surgery and had all her teeth pulled. The manager had the nerve to tell my grandmother that the incident occurred at home and not at his store. He asked my grandmother where the dog uses the bathroom, maybe an animal did it to her outside or maybe someone at home abuses her. Chichi (the dog) lives a better life then most humans. She is an inside dog and no one abuses her. We have sent multiple letters to the company and they have been unresponsive. We weren't asking for anything more then they take care of the VET bill since their staff had broken our dogs jaw. The company has been unresponsive. They did however put up a sign stating they no longer take small pets. I am almost sure it is because their staff is poorly trained and abused our dog.

We even did a meet and greet with our one dog. So far it has gone well at home. The Humane Society and their staff were wonderful especially shout out to Tyler. He was great in giving me all the information that I needed and asked for as well as the handling of the adoption. I have seen some people, dislike the fact that you do have to jump through some hoops to adopt. However, given that they want to make sure that these animals do not come back to the shelter and have a forever home as well as make sure that they are responsibly taken care of after they leave their care, I see why they do it. Even after the adoption my new dog came up with kennel cough they immediately had us come back to the shelter, came to meet us at the car in proper PPE and sent us home with medication which now has worked wonderfully and laddie is now feeling so much better and more like himself. I'm excited for our journey with our new family member and thank you so much Humane Society of Marion County.

After approving our application and after I personally spent over 30 minutes meeting the dogs, they insisted that my partially disabled wife travel a 2.5‑hour round trip so a medically untrained volunteer could "evaluate" whether she might fall on a dog. That person would then report their impressions to a committee for final approval. I am fully mobile and would be the primary caregiver for the dogs. My wife simply wanted companionship. No other rescue in our 20 years of adopting dogs has ever required this kind of intrusive and medically unqualified assessment, nor have they refused to offer reasonable accommodation such as a home visit. This process effectively penalizes disabled applicants and creates barriers that are unnecessary, inappropriate, and discriminatory in practice. For an adoption fee of $600, adopters deserve a respectful, professional, and accommodating process. Until they revise these policies or offer a reasonable alternative, this review stands. Apparently the concept of service or companion animals for the elderly or partially handicapped is beyond the capacity of this rescue. They will claim that they just want to protect the animal while providing unqualified and a harshly judgemental attitude toward the human client.
