From the beginning Michael returned my call, came out and gave me a fair and honest quote to complete the job. We discussed some options, like leaving some wood for our fireplace, agreed on a price and they were here within a day. (I lucked out and caught them at a good time) I had basically 6 trees that needed to be taken down (two split), along with trimming some large branches hanging over our home. One of our oaks was old, split and partially hollowed out. This large oak was between our new home and garage and was dangerous. Needless to say, Michael and his crew got the tree down within the day and cleaned up. Zero damage to anything. The next day (today), they took down 5 other trees that needed to go. Again, they did an outstanding job and they were amazing to watch when I had some free time. Because of the snow, it's difficult to clean up all the saw dust, but they have done a great job at cleaning up branches and the dust they could get at. They even picked up small twigs on my roofline. Anyway, this company is safe, professional and detailed . Michael kept me informed at the beginning of the project and at the end of the day to let me know what his next plan of attack was. I highly recommend these gentlemen if you want a professional job done well. The picture is the view I have of the beach, which was blocked 2 hours ago. Thanks again Clean Cut.

He went right after the water line installation, since he had everything he needed on hand for that portion of the job and had that part of the installation, including the sewer venting and first level sewer line installation, finished before noon. He needed more parts to finish the sewer line connection to the main sewer pipe. We agreed to have him finish the project the next day, Tuesday. After a delay caused by an emergency water line, Jason arrived with the necessary parts and finished the job quickly and professionally. He double-checked everything and left us with a huge improvement in our home's efficiency. I am a DIY sort of person and I don't usually hire people to do work I can do just as well. In Freier's Comfort by Design's case, there is no way I could do the work better for much less money. Both of the techs Freier's Comfort by Design have sent to our home have been quick, efficient, professional, and incredibly respectful of our home.

One morning in the beginning of December our carbon monoxide alarm started going off and woke me up. I ended up evacuating myself and my three cats after it went off a second time and after talking to my husband and opening windows and stuff. We knew it was the furnace because we don't have anything else besides our dryer that is gas. My husband got Chuck Fryer from comfort by design to come out and look at our furnace. He DID NOT RED TAG the furnace, but showed us his meter going up saying there was carbon monoxide. He said we need a new heat exchanger and a new burner and it would run us about $1,700 for labor and everything. I'm SO glad we got a second opinion!! We had a guy from a different company come and he took the burner out and showed us that it was not broken. Why would our furnace be broken two years after it was installed? Because it was installed wrong and cheaply to sell the house. The only problem was the soot at the bottom, which is now thought to be from running out of propane before we moved in. This guy also brought his $200 carbon monoxide detector, didn't detect any in the house with the furnace running, and tested his detector out for us with truck exhaust to show it was working. He said the guy from comfort by design most likely had the meter reading heat and not carbon monoxide, which is why we saw the level rise on the screen, and he said this is a common scam tactic. Considering we are young and new homeowners, this guy Chuck Fryer thought we would just pay it. IF OUR FURNACE HAD A HOLE IN THE HEAT EXCHANGER, IT SHOULD BE RED-TAGGED! This was such a scary experience and I would hope no one has to go through this. DO NOT let comfort by design anywhere near your HVAC system!
