This location is brand new, means everything is bright, new and clean. You won't find any broken or sticky plastic toys or worn furniture. Teachers are very kind and patient. At least 2 teachers per class and few helpers for diaper changes, cleaning and serve meals. The only down side is they do not have a full kitchen to cook, which have to order take out from Chinatown. I hope they specify no MSG when ordering. Anyway, my son enjoys his time there because the center is filled up with different kinds of new educational toys. My son is in their middle class, which is for 2.5-3 yrs old. They read books every morning and do a lot of painting and crafts. They learned how to share, feed themselves, put on shoes, clean up, etc. My favorite teacher Ms Alice can handle all crying, fighting and stubborn kids; she is like a magician to me. Thanks Alice!

They had weekly karate and art classes and went to the park on most days which was great. I was mostly unhappy with the many teacher changes and some of the staff's behavior. My son had at least 4 or 5 different teachers or assistant teachers in a year. The only one who stayed the whole year was Ms Amy and she was loud and overbearing. My son said she yelled a lot. I walked in on her screaming at the kids when I went to pick him up. She looked scary angry and the kids just stared at her and walked away like they were used to this. That's when I decided not to continue wiht this place.

They are very caring. Bright Horizons is a chain and has a consistent schedule and areas of focus during the day. The curriculum does have an organized plan around education for all ages. They get supplemental classes in Spanish, Music and Soccer included. There is usually at least 2-3 art activities during the week. For my oldest, they are working on letters, numbers, and basic reasoning skills in science, comprehension and relationships. During nice weather, the kids will go out to the local park to play at the playground. My son could qualify for free pre-K but we liked the convenience of having both kids in the same place. The pre-K class is small, but they get lots of attention and it's a close knit group of kids who get along well. They also organize parent seminars for G&T testing info, eating habits, etc. We've attended a few evening events- International Potluck and Open House. It's not a fancy schmancy place with a super unique education philosophy, it's a great daycare and place to learn with good hours for working parents. This center also handles last minute drop-ins.

She comes home happy, relaxed, and ready to sleep after a day of interacting. Transitioning back to work from maternity leave is stressful for any new mom, and we were specifically looking for daycare that was safe, loving, and engaging. The Bright Horizons program has kind teachers who love the kids, built in activities to stimulate them (you can never learn the solar system too early), and all the normal bells and whistles (app with push notifications). I often pop in early and find the kids in little groups around an activity. The teachers even helped our daughter get more adept at bottle feeding after mostly breastfeeding at home. Like with any new environment, we had a few days of acclimating to the process and how the team works. And like all daycares, you trade off in pure one-to-one interaction with a nanny or mom/dad for more engagement with activities and other people. I've been sitting in the room when all the kids want to eat at once, and they do have to learn a little patience. Overall, Bright Horizons has exceeded what I was expecting from a larger daycare provider. The Director has been thoughtful and flexible, and the teachers are so sweet with our little girl.

Here's what we like: - Welcoming/warm atmosphere: the staff all seem to genuinely care about every child and support their individual needs. - Curriculum: with babies/young toddlers, we initially just wanted a safe and loving environment for them while we were at work. But we've also enjoyed seeing them learn and grow in every way. New concepts, numbers, the alphabet, etc - and of course, lots of songs - they cover it all. - Activities: art, yoga, "science lab", and Music Together - these have been great for our littles ones. - It's also nice to feel a part of the community, even though we're not Jewish. Many of the families are from different cultures/backgrounds. And it's kind of fun to hear your child pick up bits of Hebrew. The only real drawback is that October can be challenging with so many Jewish holidays (not all of them observed by other NYC schools). But we still love sending our baby and our preschooler to KK.

Our one-year-old has been enrolled since late-2020 and in just a short amount of time, we've seen so much growth that we directly attribute to her days at KA! From increased language and physical skills to the importance they place on teaching patience, sharing, and independence, our little one is thriving. Paige, Cristal, and now Anissa make such a meaningful effort to reinforce values that will help our kiddo develop, both emotionally and mentally. They've also helped us with several big growth milestones and transitions. The teamwork and communication is really helpful. Beyond the educational benefits, KA is unfussy and grounded -- sometimes a rare find in lower Manhattan. Everyone we've met is empathetic and supportive without coddling; there is structure without rigidity. We were immediately attracted to their leveled, non-reactive approach to big emotions. There are also toys, dolls, and books that represent everyone! And, probably most importantly for a bunch of babies and toddlers, they make the days FUN. Fun art projects, music and dancing, gym and outdoor time, water play, books galore -- June is WIPED at the end of the day and sleeps like a rock at home. We couldn't be happier!
