We constantly struggled with obedience and her inability to listen to us, intense pulling when we went on walks, jumping, getting mouthy - the list goes on and on. We felt defeated and insecure - but as soon as we talked with Jean and Linda at NJ Fix My Dog, we felt hopeful! They assured us Millie was the kind of dog that could be helped, and they'd be happy to step in.  Throughout Millie's 2 week bootcamp, we received frequent updates from Linda on Millie's progress, photos, and videos. We missed her but we knew she was in excellent care and learning so much everyday. After the 2 week bootcamp, Linda brought Millie home and we were in shock at how well-behaved, and well-mannered suddenly became. The day she came home, Linda spent over an hour with us going over what Millie learned and how to work with her going forward. She also gave us a full document with an assessment of Millie's overall behavior, how to continue to enforce what she learned, and how encourage her along the way.  Before bootcamp, we dreaded going for a walk with Millie because of how she behaved when she saw other dogs (pulling toward them, whimpering, getting anxious, etc.), and how she walked in general (tugging and zig-zagging the entire walk). Now she walks like an absolute DREAM! Right at our side, a nice little trot, ignores other dogs, people, squirrels - everything! We could walk her all day long now, and we look forward to all our walks! Millie used to ignore us when we called for her, or told her "no" if she was doing something we didn't like, but now her recall skills are excellent and she runs right over to us when we call her. She doesn't even try to attempt the bad behavior she used to do, like jumping, getting mouthy, etc., and instead happily relaxes. Her overall demeanor used to be just a little bit intense, always on the lookout for something to get into - but now she is so calm and seems at east with herself. Linda worked WONDERS! We learned so much about Millie through this process, and we truly feel comfortable with what Linda taught us to help Millie be her best self. We feel like we have the tools we need, and the confidence. We feel the support of NJ Fix My Dog now even after Millie is back home - we know Linda is just a call or text away if we need any help.

Nancy worked with us and within a week it was like we had a completely different dog. I have been a loyal customer for many years and have entrusted K9 Resorts with my three pugs. Under the original owner and staff, both I and my dogs were treated like family. Unfortunately, my last three boarding experiences have been increasingly disappointing. Instead of being welcomed as a long-time customer, I have been greeted with comments such as, "Who are these dogs?" It was surprising and disheartening given our long history with the facility. The most troubling incident occurred during my most recent pickup. After I expressed that I was disappointed that no one remembers the dogs or me, the front desk employee became visibly upset. She went to retrieve my dogs, and while I was waiting in the lobby, I heard my smallest pug let out a loud yelp. Moments later, the employee came running into the lobby, yelling and holding out her arm, saying, "Look what your dog did to me," referring to what appeared to be a scratch. Furthermore I was being verbally confronted for expressing my dissatisfaction. The entire interaction was alarming and unprofessional, especially considering she was handling my three dogs at the time. I later called the location to speak with the manager, only to be told that she had resigned. I then contacted the corporate office in Berkeley Heights, where my information was taken and I was advised to contact the Regional Director. I did so, and he also took my information and told me he would investigate the incident and call me in 2 days. That was a week ago and I've heard nothing. My concern extends beyond poor customer service to the manner in which both I and my dogs were treated during this experience. I hope this matter is thoroughly investigated and that meaningful steps are taken to restore the level of professionalism and care that once made this location exceptional. It's is currently substandard. K9 Resorts has permanently lost my business. I don't trust them with my dogs and I don't like being treated poorly especially when I pay so much for their services.

The staff is incredibly friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. They also offer grooming and boarding. My dog hasn't stayed overnight yet, but he definitely will in the near future. I feel completely comfortable and safe leaving him in their care. One of my favorite things is their Instagram because you can actually see what the dogs are doing throughout the day. It really gives you a day in the life of a dog at Barker Lounge. They do require dogs to be up to date on their vaccinations and spayed or neutered. Pickup is typically by 7 PM. After that, the dog will stay overnight and you'll be charged for boarding. And let me tell you, every time my dog comes home, he goes straight to sleep.
