Don't forget to take off your shoes before entering and letting the instructor know it is your first time here. I tried out a yoga and sound bath, a strictly all-sound bath, and one that was more vocal with sound bath/meditation. If you want something relaxing and chill why not come on by? Kin is such a special studio with very unique donation based classes centered on deep holistic healing. I felt that each class took me on a beautiful journey through either movement, sound or inner release. Janelle, the owner is really lovely. She participates in some of the classes herself and hosts an amazing event called Tiendaan every month where many of her teachers vend their jewelry or share their healing services. There are also martial arts demos, food contests, sound baths and more! I felt truly impacted by the classes I took. Listed below are the ones that sparked great change, healing and energetic shifts for me: Sacred Drum Journey with Jeff Rivos, Reiki Light and Sound with Amanda, Cosmic Fire Kundalini with Angeli. I haven't been able to attend but I have also heard amazing things about Healing Alchemy with Lizette. I have been going here for over a month now. The variety of classes offered here ranges from relaxing to intense. Sound bath, meditation, yoga, and the more. The technique depends on the instructor and the class itself. It is best to try out the various classes to figure out what fits you best. I think the price is reasonable. Logistically there are things that may need improvement. Virtual class not coming on or a class that starts very late (15 mins?!) to accommodate a private session. That is not okay for a business. Other than that, I say give it a try and see if it is for you. I do yoga and group classes in 2 other places near by. They have not run late or missed a class. read more

The instructors are so caring and give them the chance to be who they are (kids) and teach them whats in their outlined curriculum in the pace they understand and love. I attended the breathwork class yesterday. This was my first experience in this setting or type of activity. I was referred by a good friend of mine who has been telling me about KIN for several months now. I wasn't really sure what to expect to get out of this experience, and honestly I was a bit skeptical going in to it. But I told myself to keep a open mind, and see for myself. I was amazed by the experience. The instructor was aware that this was my first experience and she made me feel comfortable by acknowledging it and being very thorough with her instructions. Once I submerged my self into the class and it's objective, what happened next was both pleasant and unexpected. As we got into the breath work exercises I felt a state of calmness over myself. Next what i felt can only be explained as a state of Euphoria. It's been a rough go at it personally over the last few months for myself. The stresses of life have been nipping at my heels and was starting to overwhelm my life. But none of that mattered while I was in this euphoric state. As if my body was able to let go Of the hardships I've been encountering. I can go on and on about the experience, but to sum it up. I was pleasantly surprised about the experience. Janelle has been my mentor for years. She first brought me under her wing when we both worked for a company that mistreated their employees in the fashion industry. Janelle and her sound baths tap into the deep levels of healing across all times, space, and realities. It was as though, I was traveling in a different plane. I have been to a few other sound baths in the LA area, but Janelle's brings forth a transformative spirit that is PROFOUND. It is similar to the Integratron in Joshua tree where you feel your WHOLE body vibrating! The way it works is that the 1st part is a workshop about an hour and the 2nd part also an hour is a sound bath. For me, the first one was Yoga with Shamanic healing and 33 Ascended Masters were called for the sound bath. For the second one, I learned to make my own salt bath -very cool! The sound bath followed afterward. I would recommend bringing your own yoga mat, pillow, and whatever else you need to be cozy and comfy. I have been to two sound baths thus far and I am sure I will keep going to more. I also brought my parents and my husband as well. My parents who I thought initially would be "freaked" out by this are REALLY into it now. My mother who has vivid nightmares has had them greatly reduced. My father feels more positive. My girls enjoy their summer camp, so much! It's has only been three days! Everyday, they come home and share with me what they see and learned. For my 5yr old who has been attending preschool full time the past 3yrs, I have not seen her this excited with her daily encounters. The excitement is in a calm way. The eclectic playlist she had on flowed well with every pause and movement throughout the session. My son recently completed the first session of Camp Kin and he enjoyed it very much! He was excited to attend each day and even more excited to discuss all the activities he did. He was able to learn musical instruments, meditation, capoeira, yoga, and even brought home arts and crafts that he crated with the help of his amazing teachers. This was a great experience for the summer because it was a way to take a break from academics. He made new friends right from his own community. WE LOVE CAMP KIN! Kin Studio has been so welcoming and an answer to my seeking. After attending Angeli's yoga class and the Tieandann Night Market, we enrolled our son who is almost 5 in Camp Kin. Even though the camp is designed for older kids, the owner Janelle accommodated us and Janelle and Jeff were such awesome teachers for my son. Every day my son would come home singing and practicing things he had learned during camp. He would even ask to go right back to camp after lunch and I would tell him you have to wait until tomorrow. Camp was held from 9am-12pm each day and was filled with mindful yet engaging activities. My very active son learned to love meditation for the first time but his favorite activities was capoeira, art making, and playing instruments. The teachers do a great job of making the lessons accessible to the kids and my son gained so much knowledge and character building during this time. I have been curious about learning Reiki for some time now. Last Friday I came in for a Reiki healing session just to experience it first hand what it is all about. I have to say that it was magical! It certainly was not a placebo effect, it is very much REAL and soothing to the body. First off, GPS gave me the wrong location. Instead of along the same roll of L-shaped building in the plaza, it directed me off to a smaller independent building in the same plaza. I had to call but the issue was immediately resolved with the direction given by the operator. Upon entering, I immediately felt a sense of peace and calm by the set up of the place. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. My healer was Noilyn Mendoza. I filled out some paperwork and Noilyn led me into the space and we chatted about the place and what it offers. It was my first Reiki healing session, so Noilyn gave me a brief on what it is and what she would be doing. Although Noilyn put a warm blanket on me, my feet felt a little cold at first. But once the healing started, my body instantly felt warm and tingly all over like a gentle electric current running through, especially over the areas where she was working the Reiki on. When she sent Reiki over my chest, my exhale became a little choppy as if the breath wasn't smooth. Noilyn gently whispered like a guided meditation and instructed me to inhale and exhale along with her healing. Then my breathing quickly became smooth and deep. Towards the end of the session, she guided me with another visualization to lock-in and contain the Reiki energy she sent me. Then after the session, I had plenty of time to rest and get up and stretch myself out. Then we chatted a little about my experience and what I felt during the session. The warm that I felt in my body was wonderful, but most of all I felt very light physically and spiritually. She offered me two decks of cards to draw and reflect on. Noilyn is enthusiastic about what she does. She was patient and made sure all of my questions were answered. Nothing was ever rushed. If hadn't had to head home soon, I would have stayed longer and ask more of my endless questions. Overall the experience was amazing, very tranquil and calming. That night I felt just a little bit nauseated like Noilyn had warned me about some of the possible reactions to this kind detox and clearing of energy. It was however easily manageable. I put my son to bed at 8pm that night and slept in with him until the morning, waking up feeling very well rested and energetic. I have recommend this place to my wife and my sisters. And, I am definitely telling my cousin about it when she comes to visit. I would most likely check back in for a Reiki healing session every month. Needless to say, I am looking forward to their next Reiki workshop to learn this skill for myself. read more

Janelle is an amazing healer. I met her at Native Sol's new moon in Pisces pineal gland activation event during the first day of Mercury retrograde. I've been seeing Janelle for 2 years now. The first time I was drawn to her for her fertility soundbath. I was having ferility issues for years and suffered a devastating miscarriage. When I first met her she has 9 months pregnant and she told me her story about her infertility naturally and how she overcame it through holistics and spirituality. She was so relatable, so caring. The first time I had my sound bath it was a very unique experience, she includes crystals, crystal sound bowls and her angelic voice. Janelle is an absolutely sincere healer who tries her best to understand the person she is working with. I've never had a soundbath before, tonight was my first. It being a Sunday, she was extremely accommodating; and I chatted w her for an hour before we even started my session, yet at no point was she ever rushing me... moreover, she gave me a little stone for grounding purposes as a little gift. Knowing this is the beginning of her little business, I want to give details to my experience. The whole one hour of her sound healing session listening to the bowls and her singing gave me an intense experience physically speaking, and being someone who is very distrusting I didn't expect to get any "message" like advertised by most healers, I just lay there wanting to experience something magical during my hard times of exhaustion and confusions. Yet I did hear words of maybe my own intuition that I've never experienced before, some form of clarity and strong emphasizes that really pressed hard on my forehead and the calming-ness while the panting-ness are all intertwined... I suspected it might be the medication I took right before I left or it could be that therapeutic chat we just had, regardless of all that suspicions, the sound frequencies are real things. Have you seen flowing water dances due to sound? sand moves due to sound? It's a real vibrational thing that you can easily YouTube. BUT, I've only seen, but I've never FELT or LAID in it personally, so even tho I don't know how that works metaphysically speaking and how our minds connect through it. The experience is very evident and obvious even if you can't tell the details from one to another. I was not 100% sure what I heard internally, but I was at the very least sure of 50% of them. That is more than quite enough for me, I have "heard", that's pretty golden. Give a shot if you've never tried, I don't know how other soundbath is like this is only my first time.
