    First time drum medidation!
    Ryan L.

My friend Alisa referred me here as we went to our first sound bath Sunday night class. It was a great therapy session and made me much calmer and stress free afterwards. I decided to sign up for the week pass to check out what else they have to offer. The staff is great and knowledgable of their teachings. I have done somatic yoga, drum mediation and sound bath. I came here with an open mind and I feel great after a session.

Kin is such a special studio with very unique donation based classes centered on deep holistic healing. I felt that each class took me on a beautiful journey through either movement, sound or inner release. Janelle, the owner is really lovely. She participates in some of the classes herself and hosts an amazing event called Tiendaan every month where many of her teachers vend their jewelry or share their healing services. There are also martial arts demos, food contests, sound baths and more! I felt truly impacted by the classes I took. Listed below are the ones that sparked great change, healing and energetic shifts for me: Sacred Drum Journey with Jeff Rivos, Reiki Light and Sound with Amanda, Cosmic Fire Kundalini with Angeli. I haven't been able to attend but I have also heard amazing things about Healing Alchemy with Lizette. And I would definitely say for me, my favorite class, because I received a deep emotional cleansing was from taking Hilda's Align: Energy + Breath class regularly. Take advantage of the donation based community classes. No one is turned away for lack of funds. There are also amazing courses and curriculum for those on their path to sharing healing with others. I have never seen such powerful courses offered in one place not to forget that they also offer various modalities of healing sessions including an Akashic Records reading and/Reiki or Sekhem Khrem. I love this place and it's brother school Kailukuan and sister restaurant business next door Native Fields. It's a very special area. Go check out everything they offer to the community! It's worth it for your mental, physical and spiritual health.

Full transparency...I've had the privilege of teaching here at Jupiter Soundscape. In comparison to the handful of studios where I've held space, Jupiter Soundscape is the most pure in regards to intention and building an authentic community that takes the time to include, uplift, and support many through their spiritual journey. Jupiter Soundscape started as the identity of Janelle, the owner as she left a corporate life and take on a new life within the healing arts. She later decided to expand the name into a business. I've seen several businesses take on spiritual capitalism...and it isn't an easy road because you're pioneering a new kind of path. From the branding down to the candles and crystals, to the copy of her thoughtful coursework...packaging and staging gift shop items and picking the right font...bringing the right people together...this woman is a genius and knows what she's doing. She is also one of the most knowledgeable and caring healers that I know. Her classes, courses, privates...she will always give her all. Janelle puts her heart and soul into all that she does. To be a part of this community has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my spiritual path. Not only do I feel the support of Janelle when I'm holding space, I feel like I'm part of a community that really cares deeply about making a difference. The students I've met here...many have began teaching their own courses and leading beautiful workshops. Jupiter Soundscape is authentically interested in empowering the community, not just collecting numbers. If you're contemplating attending a class or signing up for a course, this studio is setup for both in-person and online. So wherever you are in the world, you can receive pure teachings and wisdom. I highly recommend Jupiter Soundscape from the bottom of my heart.

This review is for Camp Kin for Kids. This was a great learning experience for my son who is 7 years old. The instructors are so caring and give them the chance to be who they are (kids) and teach them whats in their outlined curriculum in the pace they understand and love. Next session will start on July 11 and I wanted to encourage anyone in the community to sign their kids up. Jeff and Janelle are the best instructors who work very well with the kids.

I have been a yearly member for 2 years and boy has Kin helped me in my inner personal development with their breath work, meditation and yoga classes. Janelle and her staff are so very helpful and I have nothing but praise when it comes to their services as well as giving back to the community. I was able to calm my anxieties and also lower my blood sugar from 8.4 to normal 5.6 due to their sound healing and yoga glasses. They also influenced me to live a healthier life by choosing to eat healthier and overall just have a positive mindset through this journey we call life. Thank you Janelle and staff for all you do for me and the community. I will be forever indebted to you. Keep up the great work!!!!

Rejuvenate, relax and detox the mind, body and soul with movements of ones self with sound. Enter a realm where not only will you experiece piece of mind but wellness for your being. Besides the fundamentals of yoga they also offer other journeys to the path of self care like vinyasa and ashtanga that have a sound bath at the end of ones travels through inner peace. If that's not enticing enough they also have a session on manta meditation. My yogini Carroll made my sessions challenging and also fun with her constant motivation with humor. The eclectic playlist she had on flowed well with every pause and movement throughout the session. She pushed me to the point were I achieved things I thought I couldn't like actually standing on my head. The sound bath after was a pleasant and relaxing inner and outer experience. Depending on what one is looking for, I'm more than positive you'll find it here. All the staff I came across are walking good vibes. And that's my take on this, Peace.

When I looked into visiting, it was quite odd to me that the website was asking me to pay to reserve a seat before ever even going. This struck me as odd. Only a bit of investigation was needed before I quickly learned this is a cult with tremendous wealth and power. Rather than accepting "Dana," a contribution made of generosity in Buddhism, where no one is turned away due to a lack of funds to meditate, they specifically charge and further proclaim, the more you donate, the 'better your merit. Be careful if you get involved with this group. They advocate for materialism and wealth, which is absolutely not in alignment with the ancient teachings of the Buddha. In fact, his views were *the very opposite*.

It is with great gratitude and respect that I write this review of Lake Shrine because I found it…read moreto be the best free experience that the Los Angeles Basin has to offer and this is not an exaggeration, nor is commentary sponsored by ad funds. I am feeling pure and substantial admiration and thus I will try to convey it on to page in hopes of celebrating the gift of serenity this place offered me without asking for anything in return, from me. The serenity that this place induced within me, so quickly and firmly, was so strong that I dared to think of scenarios that would challenge it. Meaning I was so in peace in the Lake Shrine grounds, that I wondered what would disturb this seemingly unshakable peace? And my mind went to a dark place. I will eventually know the heart-woe of being an orphan and I wondered if my biggest grief would be lessened in this environment. I know that this was a quirky maybe even macabre way of describing the grandiose peace of this place but I wanted to be honest to the experience because the serenity offered by this place was extreme and unique because I had never felt something quite like it. Thus the question becomes: How did this place achieve this new sense of peace/serenity within me? First, the ground themselves were tranquility in soft, barely moving stillness. As soon as I was walking down the 100 or so steps to get to the bottom of this sunlit, open-air cathedral I felt the calming colors of nature all around me, plus the absence of city sounds. Like the freeway was near the Shrine. And I could hear it. But the traffic was not a reminder of a city near, it was more like rumors of cities that were somewhere in the horizon but not near because the stress of these distant cities and their bills and heinous crime did not belong amongst the quietly pulsating, encompassing peace. As I walked the grounds, I saw koi fish and a swan swimming amongst its central lake that was clear as I hoped my mind would be while engaging in the meditative practices that this placed offer. In fact, in one of the videos I clipped I followed a white koi with my video camera. As it swam in the water that was not hit by sunlight the fish was white. As it continued to swim to the part of the lake that had water hit by sun, the koi fish turned a little bit green, like a turqouise shade. And I thought about why the fish would turn green, just slighthly? And that is is where I understood that the clear blue water and the yellow sunlight came together to make green. In fact, the play of light across the grounds was one of the reasons why I loved! this place. I took a picture of a tree drenched with sunlight. But to my eye, the tree did not get covered with sunlight, it was more adorned in sunlight. Like the green was present and the yellow light was present, but they did not become one, it was like the skin of a female was covered in golden lace. Take these moments and add the duo of mingling butterflies I spotted, the small but mighty waterfall, and all of the majestic roses around I feel great comfort in describing this place an Eden of curated nature. I was also fortunate enough to arrive at a time where I could wait an hour and attend one of their guided meditations, inside a windmill. And this was an experience that made me feel the power of meditation in full scope. At the end, the guide, asked all of us to say om three times. The first time I joined, the second time I did too, but in the third om I remained quiet. I heard the symphony of om's around me and together they made music that verberated within my skin. I did not feel goosebumps, instead I felt my skin shimmer with waves that come an in-rest mind. The meditation focused on feeling love from the heart and have it encompass us, our neighbors, our family, and all people who claim the world their earth. The words of the guide, the peace of the spot, the sounds that could not be heard but felt, made me feel like I was pulsating with love vibes that were being transmitted from me to all in golden, circular vibes. Like I said when I first started to write this Yelp, I am not exaggerating, those images and feelings came to my mind. What I fear is that I will visit this place a second time and not feel the wonders of my first visit. I mean that is a common situation, people will never feel the same pleasure they first felt, when they heard their favorite song. I asked a working gardener if he ever lost the love for the wondrous garden surrounding him. He said never. I hope he was right. I don't plan to go hear regularly, but enough for the peace to feel needed and true. I also took a tour of the garden with another guide. She described the lotus frame next to the lake as a "wallless temple" which made a lot of sense. I was at a pier not too long ago after my visit. And I was at the pier's edge facing the water and I realized this was also a wallless temple. I hope this Yelp is a peace pulse, too!

The shrine honors many spiritual paths, with plaques and iconography representing different faiths, creating a sense of unity and respect. The lake is filled with huge koi fish, turtles, ducks, and swans, and the surrounding grounds are full of lush trees and colorful flowers. There are many lovely benches where you can sit, meditate, and simply enjoy the serene views. Being here feels incredibly calming and cleansing for the soul. Visitors can meditate inside the houseboat, which adds a very special and intimate experience. If you are spiritually sensitive or simply looking for a quiet, reflective place, this is highly recommended. There are restrooms on site, a small gift shop with items from India, and a small museum sharing the history of the shrine and the fellowship. The area itself is not large -- you can walk around the lake in about 15 minutes -- but it's a place meant to be experienced slowly, with time to pause and truly take it all in. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Many visitors from across Southern California have a tradition of visiting within the first 15 days of the Lunar New Year as this period is still considered a part of the holiday celebration. [Lunar New Year Food Fair]: Each year, the temple sets up a food fair and this year the fair happened on the 1st, 5th, and 6th days of the Lunar New Year. Always check the website for the dates the temple sets up the food fair. All dishes are 100% vegetarian. Booths were selling fa gao (Chinese steamed cake), nian gao (steamed rice cake), turnip cake, boba milk tea, and even Girl Scout cookies. [Parking]: Under normal circumstances, there is free onsite parking at the temple; however, do NOT bother trying to park at the temple on days when shuttle service is available as visitors will be redirected to a shuttle parking lot. Temporary off-site parking and shuttle buses were located at Puente Hills Mall near Round1. Check the website for shuttle service dates. This year the shuttle service was offered on the 1st, 5th, 6th, and 12th days of the Lunar New Year. The shuttle service operated from 8 AM to 5 PM. There were two types of shuttles - big buses dropped off at the street level so guests needed to walk up to the temple while small shuttles dropped off in front of the Bodhisattva Hall. [Other experience outside of food fair]: There were booths selling cute zodiac charms. Most visitors come here to do the following acitivities (1) ring the Peace Bell, (2) view art gallery exhibitions like calligraphy, (3) attend Dharma services, (4) participate in the Light Offering Ceremony on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, (5) enjoy cultural performances on the 1st day of the Lunar New Year, (6) drink free hot teas at the information center, (7) throw pennies and try to hit a bell at the Arhat Garden, and (8) throw golden medallions with red ribbons at the tree. Visitors can go behind the Bodhisattva Hall to stop by the Main Shrine. At the Main Shrine, visitors can get free incense, pray & bow to Buddhas, and place it in the giant incense burner. Visitors can also purchase light offerings for $120 per person as well as other offering items at tables near the giant incense burner. [Photo]: Outdoors ONLY. [Prohibits]: No meat, fish, poultry, alcoholic beverages, smoking and vaping (e-cigarette), any use of marijuana, bicycles, rollerblading, skateboarding, pets (except certified service animals), and drone planes. [Dress code - preferred]: Shirts with sleeves (male and female), no tank tops, shorts, short skirts/dresses, flip-flops, or slippers. [Conclusion]: The temple offers one of the most comprehensive Lunar New Year food experiences in the entire Southern California. This is also one of the most festive places in Southern California during Lunar New Year. Highly recommend to stop by here at least once to experience the celebration. P.S. - The temple has a really good vegetarian lunch buffet.

Cleansing session anyone?…read more When you're looking for the perfect way to start the Chinese New Year! This is a temple which my mom's best friend who is Thai recommended as she comes here and brings food for the monks every week. During a Chinese New Year, as you may already know, Asian parents want you to wash all your sins so that you could have a prosperous new year. So mom advised me to visit the Virgin Mary statue in Long Beach and then to this Thai temple. Although I'm not Buddhist, I've been very interested in Buddhism lately as I've read a lot of scientific reviews regarding the affects of sound and prayer of specific séances which can actually heal the body and at other times destroy cancer. The temple is situated on a beautiful lot with tons of citrus trees and a bunch of oversized cock statues. There were three monks who worked on the day I visited. We removed our shoes and went in. We were then provided an envelope to write our name and place a cash monetary donation in. After that you kneel in front of the monks before they simultaneously start chanting. It was such a beautiful feeling and to feel the love and energy through their vibrations which really heals the mind and relieves stress. If you've into sound healing with bowls you'll like this! They then gave both my mom and I a necklace and a bracelet before we left. Traditionally monks are not supposed to touch a woman's hand or body so they delicately placed my bracelet onto my wrist carefully as to not touch my skin. They sent me home with some holy water to rinse in the shower and were so nice that they also gave me a huge serving of their freshly picked loquats and two grapefruits which were both organically grown in their lush front yard garden. The loquat skin was so sweet although the actual fruit was a bit sour. The head monk takes pictures with his guests and texts his guests pictures of their visit. The day after I visited he reached out to me and told me that he will be praying for three days to make me a special holy water. He also told me that when I come back, he had a gift for me and that it was a Buddha amulet from the infamous monk Somdej Watrakang from Thailand. This is the best therapy if you're looking to meditate and clear your mind. There's always a serenity that really cleanses the soul when you leave a temple or monastery. I'm definitely coming back here again and will try to be a regular.

Sometimes we all need reminders about the beauty in simplicity. My Sister took me to an event that…read moreincluded Monk Chanting, Spiritual Speaking, & Light Yoga workout. Blessed.. Monk's could not have been kinder and supportive of your being there. It's their religion to share space in humanity without Material or Current News Events. The talk was a clear attempt to shift our minds to a kinder way of living, which is LOVING... please remember our donations, although never requested, are greatly welcomed and worth the experience without doubt.
