I was reconnected with Instructor Betty through one of my dear friends. Years ago, I took a yoga class with her, and a couple of years ago I started working with her again through Pilates. Looking back, I am so grateful our paths crossed again. For many years, I have dealt with physical challenges, including scoliosis, a straight spine condition, hip rotation issues, and poor posture habits that developed over time. After trying different approaches such as acupuncture and physical therapy, I realized that improving my overall well-being would require a deeper understanding of my own body. That journey eventually led me to Pilates and back to Instructor Betty. What makes Instructor Betty truly exceptional is her patience, knowledge, and genuine dedication to her students. She does not simply tell me what to do. She takes the time to explain why I am doing each movement and how it relates to my body's unique needs. I ask a lot of questions, and she always takes the time to answer them thoroughly. Through her guidance, I have gained a much deeper understanding of posture, breathing, alignment, movement patterns, and overall body awareness. I especially appreciate that Instructor Betty recognizes that every body is different. Rather than using a one size fits all approach, she carefully adjusts the exercises to address my specific imbalances and challenges. Her attention to detail and personalized guidance have helped me become more aware of how I move, stand, breathe, and carry myself throughout the day. The improvements I have experienced go far beyond physical strength. My posture has improved, my breathing has become more intentional, and I feel more connected to my body, mind, and overall well-being. Pilates has become much more than exercise for me. It has become part of a lifelong journey toward better health and self-awareness. Another quality I truly admire about Instructor Betty is her commitment to continuous learning. Even with all of her experience, she continues to study with other masters and pursue advanced training to deepen her knowledge and refine her techniques. Her passion for learning and growth is reflected in every session. Instructor Betty's approach is truly one of a kind. Her understanding of the body, attention to detail, and ability to personalize each session are remarkable. Looking back, I only wish I had met Instructor Betty much earlier in life. However, it is never too late to start. I also believe that children can greatly benefit from learning proper posture, body awareness, and healthy movement habits at a young age. The foundation Instructor Betty helps build can benefit someone for a lifetime. If you are looking for an instructor who is knowledgeable, patient, caring, and truly invested in helping you understand your body, I wholeheartedly recommend Instructor Betty. I am deeply grateful for her guidance, encouragement, and expertise. She has made a meaningful difference in my life, and I look forward to continuing this lifelong journey with her. Thank you, Instructor Betty, for your patience, wisdom, and dedication. You are truly a gift to your students. read more

I wanted to try Pilates because I work in an office and was looking for something to help with posture and overall strength. I had taken group classes before, but I really wanted something at my own pace and with more focus on form and my goals. So I ended up booking a trial session with Maggie. Maggie is the sweetest. She's patient, down to earth, and really knows her stuff. She also struck the perfect balance of being respectful while also gently pushing me to do better, which is exactly what I needed. What stood out to me was how she explained the rationale for each movement. Even from just one session, I could tell she genuinely cares about her clients and takes so much pride in her work. I've tried other fitness classes before, but Maggie stands out as one of the most attentive and thoughtful instructors. I'd strongly recommend her to someone who wants an instructor who is knowledgeable, supportive, transparent, and patient. read more

I have attended five classes with two Pilates instructors in past two months. I attempted group class(with totally 4 people) and semi private Pilates class(with totally 3 people). In the group class with Maggie and Louisa, they are all well informed us the pose, movement and the muscles you need to engaged in. It is normal you might not do all the pose correctly immediately. But no worried, both instructor will adjust while you are practicing it. In the semi private class, you will feel there are more challenging move since the smaller size of the group. But the same, you can communicate to Maggie and Louisa if you feel any uncomfortable during the session. Last, besides 5 to 6 reform tables in the regular class space, they also equipped other machine to achieve other workout goal. The environment is clean and cozy! read more

Short answer: Let me start off by saying that I highly recommend Maggie. She is patient, compassionate, and most importantly, has the technical skills to teach 1 on 1 that I haven't seen in many other places. Long answer: My primary focus is mobility workout, with Pilate as secondary. Due to my previous gym injury, my body's muscle have become a bit stiff + limited range of movements. In addition, I did have surgery for my lower back because of the injury. Previously, I tried going to strictly physical therapy store/center in Walnut, Alhambra, Ktown, and Newport Beach. But none of those places tailor the exercises or class to my specific CORE issue. When they do provide exercises, it's very simple exercise that targets surface issues. For example, my range of movement is limited when I try to twist left and right with my upper body. All the other PT places just tell me to keep practicing twisting at home, so it becomes easier over time. But what they don't understand and address is the root cause, which is my upper back muscle has become inactive for over a long period of time. So doing more twisting motion will not help wake it up. What needs to be done is do exercise that specifically target the muscle that's inactive. Then after the muscle becomes active, the twisting of left and right of the upper back naturally becomes smooth. I started attending 1 on 1 class with Maggie about 2 months ago. 2 sessions a week. Then after a month into it, I bump it into to 3 sessions a week. All my classes are specifically tailored to improve my issue. The muscles are starting to get less tight, and flexibility is increasing. She's very careful on how much she can push me and at the same time conservative so as not to injure me. It's a fine line that I felt she has balanced extremely well. I am constantly surprised how attentive Maggie is to my well-being. There's a genuine feeling that she wants me to improve and have a better life. That's completely opposite from what I felt from going to other physical therapy places. These places I basically check in, do a few exercises (sometimes with trainees or volunteers), and get a piece of paper to do some exercise at home until the next session. I understand this is mainly a Pilate place. But I wanted to leave a review to let others, that might have similar issues as me. Be aware it is more of a mobility + flexibility workout WHILE USING Pilate equipment. So, it's not pure Pilate workout that you typically see on YouTube or TikTok. I think the only downside to this place is that they do not accept insurance. Instead, I've been paying out of pocket for all my 1 on 1 sessions. But honestly the price is comparable, if not, slightly cheaper than what some of the physical therapy places charge. Ultimately, I bite the bullet and just do it, because after all, you cannot put a price on a healthy body. I understand I'll have to keep doing mobility workout to continue getting better as it has only been 2 months. I just feel very fortunate to have found Maggie to help me on this journey. read more

Absolutely LOVE my Pilates sessions with Maggie! She used to teach at another studio that closed and I followed her here to Mindful Movement. She can be challenging and will test your limits, so definitely be ready to sweat your butt off. She's also very helpful and encouraging, and will make sure you're comfortable on the machines. I highly recommend taking a class with her because she will probably make you fall in love with Pilates. Parking is easy and the plaza has its own lot. I've only gone to the evening classes and the parking has always been plenty. read more

This Pilates studio is super cute, tidy and filled with very professional instructors. I take private 1:1 class with one of the instructors here. I have bad posture, light scoliosis issue which causes severe back pain issues for me for years. The 1:1 class is much tailored specifically to my needs. Not only do they target class to strengthen my core but the instructor spends intensive time in working with me on my back. Since coming here, I no longer experience back pains and have seen progress in body contouring and becoming more tone. I highly recommend this studio is you are really looking for quality class and instructors that truly cares about their students. They also offer group classes. Although I have not experience the group class setting myself, but I have heard from other students that it's also quite good. Highly recommend and thank you for such a great studio! read more
