My daughter and I visited this shop seeking help with a specific alteration to her wedding dress. Before even seeing the dress on her, the seamstress dismissed our concern. Once my daughter tried it on, she loudly stated multiple times the dress was "too tight" and said she could not fix it. To make matters worse, she turned to other customers in the store and asked them to comment on whether the dress was too tight. Involving strangers to publicly judge the bride's dress was rude and completely unprofessional. There were two more clients in the store while we were there, and she told both she could not fix the items they brought in. She was very dismissive to all of us. All customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. When it comes to a bride bringing in her wedding dress, that expectation should be even higher. This is one of the most meaningful and emotional moments in her life, and it should be handled with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. We ended up taking the dress back to the original seamstress we had used -- even though she is much farther away -- and she immediately saw the issue we were describing and is correcting it without hesitation. read more

Two sisters run this shop. I brought in two suit jackets and a couple of dresses for alterations. The person who helped me didn't want to do any of the work. She was hard to understand and she couldn't have been more unhelpful. I had a different experience with the other sister who wasn't in the shop. Bottom line: find another tailor for alterations. One of the worst experiences Ive had at a tailor. I made an appointment to get my wedding dress altered. Kim's was recommended by a friend. I showed up early, was asked to put my dress on and then was told Kim was not there and would not be there for at least an hour. The woman in the shop called Kim and she spoke to my friend and said the other woman could do the fitting. So we hung up with Kim and the other employee pulled at my dress, could not communicate well. Then said she didnt know what to do and was told to come back in an hour. I can't believe how unprofessional this business was. The shop itself was dirty, and musty, the dressing room was small and it was incredibly hot inside. I would not recommend this business at all. I ended up going elsewhere and had an incredible experience. read more

I took a dress in on Friday for straps to be shortened. Kim said it would be $30 and not ready until the next Thursday. I went back the very next day to pick up the dress and take it to another alterations place that could finish it sooner. The owner was waiting on a man who's pants needed taken in and she charged him only $16 and gladly offered to have them ready on Wednesday. When she finally asked what I needed and I said I just needed to pick up our dress, she said it was finished. When I asked why she told me Thursday, she rudely said sometimes she finishes things early. She is extremely rude, seems to base her pricing by what she thinks someone can and should pay vs. what the actual alteration job is, and is super unprofessional. I appreciate her honesty. I had several things I wanted repaired/altered, and she gave me exact estimates for all of them. I desperately wanted two specific items of clothing shortened significantly. After I tried them on and she had a chance to examine them, she openly told me she could not do it without ruining the garments. I didn't exactly get what she was saying, so she showed me with pins, and I realized I couldn't get in or out of the garments. Also, a flat sheet I brought in had several tears. I fixed one at home, but it looked like bad surgery. Her first response was to turn it into rags (brutal but probably true). However, they were a wedding gift and have sentimental value. She gave me an estimate on fixing the other rips, but told me what I had already done was sufficient. Although rough looking, she promised that my technique had accomplished what was necessary to make the sheet serviceable. She didn't decline the job completely, but she forthrightly let me know I could save the money if I chose to. So on my first visit, her integrity saved me a lot of money on something I could do at home, and on two things that couldn't be done at all. I ended up not leaving her anything to be repaired, but I am absolutely sold on her integrity and ethics. Parking is very limited and rather awkward. read more

I called this store to do the hems on two pair of scrubs and I specifically said i needed them for next day, Kim told me 8 dollars, then I called early in the morning to make sure with her again, then she raised the price to $10, I drove all the way from Palm Bay only to be overcharged $12 per pant when I got there!!! I dropped off 3 pairs of slacks to be ironed..no I'm not lazy..but I still can't seem to get that crease down the front of the pants just right.. So I dropped off the slacks..and two days later picked them up..they were ironed to perfection and only cost me $12! read more

I found Kim to be very anti plus size. I brought my beautiful gown to her to have her alter it.. it has beading all over it and she said she couldn't alter the sides or shoulders because of the beading and it would cost $80 to hem it since there were three layers. I understand it would be very time consuming so i wasn't too upset with the price.. What caused me to write this review is she told me I was too big to wear the gown and i needed to buy a new gown that was an a line. It was very hurtful and disrespectful in my opinion. I am a big woman and i realize that not all things look good on plus size woman, however, to tell me i looked bad in the gown pointing out the "fat under my arm showing" was ridiculous. She challenged me to find someone that would hem the gown cheaper. I actually did, Aurora Bridal, where i bought the gown was significantly cheaper. Every time I go Kim is always honest about what looks good and what she suggests should be done to the garment. If you don't like her suggestion she's fine with doing whatever you decide. My clothes are always done within 3 days and due to the smell I like to believe that she also cleans them before I pick them up. I take all my garments here and never have a problem, except for the fact I don't carry cash and have to get it and come back. A few times I didn't have cash and she allowed me to pay when I picked up. read more

Awful! Awful! Awful! I needed to shorten my wedding dress and I was recommended Kim's Tailoring as being one of the best in Melbourne, FL. The dress was tulle with 2 and 2 underskirts. Unfortunately my wedding dress got nearly ruined. The edge was cut so uneven, a blind eye could see it, right side was shorter than the left. I understand that few layers of tulle are not easy to cut, but if you take the job and get paid upfront I'm expecting a certain result. When confronted I was told that no one would see it since its in the bottom. I had to find another tailor to fix it and if I wanted it to be fixed perfect I needed a lower heel.
