I am a regular of Neumans, I come in bi-weekly for a mani and usually a pedi as well. About two weeks ago, I came in for a fill and a pedicure with my husband, and we both got the fire and ice pedicure, as the pedicure itself was truly amazing, it left my feet disgusting after two weeks. Dry, crusty, and overall displeased. My nails the last three times I've gotten them done and when they've grown out, have spots where the acrylic is sharp at the cuticle, grabbing little strains of hair, and overall not what you'd expect after explaining what's been going on, and hoping for better results. I'm always charged $45 for a fill, when it's $40 for a fill especially if I shorten my length of my nails down every time. Like I said I am a regular and love this salon, however the quality is not what the price is worth. I left spending $170 for being disappointed 2 weeks later with how my feet feel/look and how the out growth on my nails around the cuticle is absolutely horrible. 4 out of 10 nails have this issue, and I've been extremely pleasant with the situation, but spending that type of money and receiving low quality even after a 2 week grow out is not what you'd expect from a typical nail salon, I am extremely disappointed. read more

Had a pedicure done and I can honestly say it's the worst one I have ever had. I went with a friend, she started hers before me. Mine was a longer pedicure but mine ended before hers did. The woman who did mine was very unprofessional. She wasn't wearing a mask, she coughed in her glove and did not bother to wipe it off or change it. Her hair was not pulled back and was hanging in her face. She could not clearly see my nails to do a good job. When I complained to the receptionist as a sign tells you to do before you leave she was very rude she obviously didn't want to hear it. Essentially refused service to me once they saw I have a service dog. My mom and I used to love going here--we were happy with how they did our nails. However, just the other day I tried to go get my nails done for my birthday with my service dog and mom. They wouldn't serve us because we couldn't have a "big dog in the pedicure chairs." I tried to explain (assertively) that my service dog would be on the floor, that it is a federal offense to not allow my him, etc, but they wouldn't listen. My service dog was doing nothing but behaving as he should, but I decided it wasn't worth my time or energy to keep pushing, so we left. We don't plan on returning. read more

I should have listened to the reviews and not stepped foot in this salon. It is very dingy and dirty inside. When you first walk in you get smacked in the face by the strong nail polish smell. The nail polishes on the shelves lining the walls are all sticky and messy with polish on the outside of the bottle. I had an appointment for 1:00pm. I was greeted by a women and told her I had an appointment. I was told to check in on the IPad and then chose my gel polish. While looking at gel polishes a man came up to me and asked me my name and what I was here for. I told him my name and what services I was getting. He then told me to sit down at station 5. After sitting down an older guy came and began doing my nails. This is when it began to get worse. The man did not cut my natural nails before putting on the tips for the acrylics. Before he began applying the acrylic he dipped the brush into the liquid and then took it out and proceeded to use his none-gloved bare skin fingers to separate the bristles of the brush and ring out the liquid. Then he began applying the acrylic and after he was finished he did the same thing as before, ringing out the brush with his bare fingers before putting it back in the holder. After this, he started filing my nails. He was filing the underside with a metal drill bit and sliced open my ring finger on my left hand. This was extremely painful. He did not apologize or sanitize any of the tools he used after he cut my finger. He looked at the wound and ignored the fact that he cut me. After the nails were done he walked me up to the checkout and proceeded to watch my every step with paying for the service. He then stood there waiting for a tip. I will never be back here nor recommend this salon to anybody. STEER CLEAR! The only reason I am giving them a second star is because my acrylics don't look horrific. read more

Next i showed him a picture and asked if he could do this and he said oh yes shouldn't be a problem, then he clips down my nails to the length i wanted, but then on his own started filing super super short and just kept going until the nails were the same length as my real nails, and while he was filing he cut my finger and he was filing so hard that my fingers got hot. He also kept grabbing at my hands and pulling on them very roughly, did not even say one word to me the whole appointment besides get off of your phone but continued to check his phone throughout the appointment. I asked for square and he just made up his own shape by rounding out the edges of my nails, after he did the french tip he did not even clean up the streak marks from the brush and when i asked him to fix it he was annoyed. She didn't get anything she asked for though, she even showed a photo and I did as well when we walked in, her full set was also only $50 and she is only 13 years old and she had $60 on her and the lady took all of her money! I got my nails done 5 days ago I asked Joe to use my top coat I brought in but he refused and said his nails are always good. Well they weren't the whole top coat was scratched and the polish underneath was bumpy he said that happened bc I'm a hairstylist and it's due to me cutting hair. I've seen Joe for well over a year he gets upset when I see other nail techs even though he does not allow you to make an appointment with him. However Newman was amazing and fixed my nails even though they didn't want to. Joe Yelled at me saying this is the last time he will ever fix my nails and he is DONE. read more

This is actually the worst nail salon that I've been to. I went to get my acrylic nails soaked off, the man that took nails off started off by using the drill the file my nails down but he would look everywhere but my nails and he kept nicking my skin. Then he started to try and pry the left over acrylic off with a nail tip. I asked him if I could get them soaked off instead and he started complaining about me to his coworker while I was in front of both of them. (When I walked in I asked if I could get them soaked off just to be clear). Then he gave me a bowl of acetone and cotton, and had me sit at a different table right next to the bathroom. Then he went to the bathroom for 15 while my nails were in a bowl of acetone and cotton. Then a girl took over and finished my nails but filed them so thin that my nails felt hot and extremely sensitive. Then they charged me 15 dollars for a 50 minute nail soak off where I was treated like horribly, and genuinely my nails were damaged . Do not go here. read more

I went to get my gel nails taken off and new ones put on. Very very dissapointed. She used the electric nail file to file my nails down (took the top layer of my nail off) and then painted over. Again I went for a fill and pedicure and I did not have an appointment, it was fairly busy. This is where Kim the owner needs to be more honest and say "I am sorry we are very busy and we will not be able to help you until later or even tomorrow. Especially when you have clients that have made appointments. I sat in the pedicure chair soaking my feet for an hour before anyone was able to start,the water was freezing by the time they got to me. I usually like to get a more advanced pedicure but decided on the quick one since I still needed to get my nails done . My nails were horrible, the nails were thick and the gel polish was sticky and gummy, I actually had to go to another nail salon to have them fixed. I spent all day on my nails when it should have taken 2 hours. I will never go back to Kims again and if you want nice looking nails I would suggest you stay clear of this business also! read more

I asked for an accent marble nail and the man literally painted my nail basically all black, and once he realized it didn't look good he told me I could come back and change my polish but I didn't have time given I was going on vacation the next day. I called ahead of time & they told me they could take my friend & I in at 12:00pm for two no-chip manicures. When we arrive to the saline we were not greeted or spoken to at all. A customer had to tell a worker that we were waiting and no one had helped us. I signed in & said we made appts, etc. A man told us to pick a color. They have a terrible selection of colors. The colors are not swatched on plastic fake nails like normal nail salons. The colors are only in the nail polish bottles. It is hard to tell how the color is going to appear if it isn't swatched. Also, when I was picking a color the bottles were very sticky & dirty looking! I got seated & was told it would be really quick & someone would be right with me. I WAITED 40 MINUTES until someone helped me. I made an appointment, I should not wait 40 minutes just to be helped. Also, they did a terrible job on the no chip manicure. The woman I had was being very hard and rough when filing my nails/clipping, etc. She was so sloppy & didn't take her time at all. I was charged $30 for my nails to look like this. I went to Kim's as a second resort after the place I wanted to go to (Twins Nail) was booked and could not get me in same day. I was going on an engagement trip to NYC so I got a mani/pedi for the photos. First my nails a naturally long and were cut short, why? Idk. Second, I asked for squared nails and he did half round/half square. Third, when my cuticles were cut so was my skin causing pain and irritation. Fourth, the mani was filled with bubbles I noticed as soon as I got home. Fifth, the paint started cracking that night without me doing anything. Sixth and lastly, my thumb nail over the paint between the two layer turned yellow after two days. I am out of the state and should not have to worry about this nor did I have time to get it fixed. DO NOT GO HERE. I just paid $55 for the worst experience. I asked for a dip manicure and already had dip on that needed to be soaked off. I had really long beautiful nails without tips, but now they're destroyed. Instead of properly soaking them off in acetone until everything came off, the guy that did my nails started using a tip to chip off the dip on my nails. It hurt and caused my nails to break. I told him to stop and let them soak. Once they were finally off, he had to cut them extremely short to match the broken nails. He cut me multiple times while filing and was extremely rough with my hand, yanking it around. It is not okay to be that aggressive. I had to ask multiple times for him to reshape my nails because I had asked for almond and they were all different shapes and sizes. Even after fixing, they are still different lengths. He basically slapped the top coat on and there are parts of my nails that are splotchy from missing clear coat. I also have bubbles on a couple of my nails. I get dip done every month and have for almost three years now. I have never had this happen to me. When I got up to the register expecting to pay $45 for plain dip nails, I was charged $55. That is INSANE! No one else here or near Chicago (where I'm from) charges that much. They claimed the extra charge was for soaking off and for almond shape. I have never had to pay extra for either of those things and especially when I didn't get a design or anything special at all. I don't think I should be paying to "soak off" for him to just rip them off, nor paying for almond shape when I had to ask so many times for him to fix the shape.
