Got my nails done on friday, it is monday and my nails are all chipped. they were done messy and when i asked for them to be fixed they acted like they didn't know what i was asking for. I showed them a picture of what i wanted and they said they could do it. then when she started she told me i couldn't get ANY design done since i was only getting regular polish and not gel. Even after i pointed out how messy the french tip was done and how streaky it looked, they still did not fix it properly. the owner fixed one of my nails and then i sat under the dryer for two minutes. my nail was no where near dry, but i was told i was all set and i " could go now". do not waste your time or money here. read more

Horrible! Had gel nails with tips put on. The woman was mean and horrible. she shaved down my natural nail bed that had no polish and no gel on them then she proceeded to add tips and was very rude and short tempered with the process. she left them all at different lengths and uneven. The gel was very, very thick and looked and felt horrible! I do not recommend ever going to this place. Also had a pedi and while the pedicure was ok, the paint job was sloppy. I went to a different nail salon to get them fixed and it took an hour for the tech to shave off all the extra globs of gel that the woman at Kim's put on my nails. My nail tech wasn't paying any atttention to my nails. Missed at least one part of each nail without the acrylic on them, none of my nails are even. They didn't push down or remove my cuticles. I literally just got them done yesterday. I do not recommend Emma. The woman who did my pedicure sped through it but at least my toe nails came out good. read more

Been coming here for some months . These last few times, my nails came off within days ! Got them done January 9th, paid $80 i only would go to Lynn but only had 5 nails left by the 6th day... and some loose!! My friend got a man pedicure and they only cut his nails and massaged it didn't even offer him clear coat which it came with: anyways I gave the benefit of the doubt came back, brought my mom to get pedicures, they charged me $45 to "fix" my nails and guess what ?!?! 2 DAYS LATER I HAD TO GO BACK !! 4 nails came off !! Tammy redid my nails today without charge so we will see how this goes . I've been driving 30 minutes everytime . I LOVE Kim's Nails. I've been going here for over 5+ years. In fact, I moved a little over an hour away but still make the trip every 2 weeks for a fill. Everyone working there does a fantastic job. I can't even tell you how many people I've sent their way. BUT... With all that being said, I have not been satisfied lately. As I already mentioned, I live over an hour away and making the drive is one I'm happy to make when the quality is good. But lately, I am so unhappy. My last fill was so incredibly rushed after waiting an hour past my appointment time. I know they get busy and since I want them to have a thriving, successful business, I never mind waiting. But I waited over an hour to be in the chair less than 20 minutes. Upon getting home and showing them to my fiancé, we noticed there were parts of my nails that weren't even painted. I also have 3 nails that are completely crooked. On the same day, I also got a gel pedicure. The polish has already chipped off. This is never something I've experienced in the 5+ years I've been going here. I hope it gets better soon read more

My friend religiously comes here, I'm always nervous when trying somewhere new- but her nails always look perfect so I figured I'd try it since I needed a fill! Sandy did my nails, she was super sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. She took her time to make sure my nails looked perfect, but didn't take forever while doing it which is a plus. I made an appointment online and didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes when I got there. I recommend definitely booking online or calling because they were super busy, especially for a Thursday at 3:00pm. I'll definitely be coming back! All of the staff was very nice and professional. I got my nails done on Friday 08/02 and the gel polish had all torn off by Sunday 08/04. I went back on Monday and Tuesday, but they were closed for the whole week ( the whole staff was on vacation). I went back on Monday the following week 8/12 and asked for a refund but all they can do is redo my nails. They already messed up my nails, the first time. Why would I want them to redo it? So now I'm out $34 all because they're incompetent at their job. Mind you I also made an appointment for 3pm. They didn't start doing my nails until 3:45 PM. Don't bother making an appointment with a certain person because you will get someone totally different. If I could give zero stars, I would. Tammy with the BBL is horrible at gel polish. I requested Sandy on my first visit because of all of her positive reviews and I have been scheduling with Sandy ever since. Sandy is a great nail tech! I've been going to Kim's Nails for almost 3 years now off of a recommendation from a co worker. Always clean, quick to get in without an appointment and relatively inexpensive compared to other nail salons in CT. However my last experience ( only FIVE days ago) was horrendous. As soon as I went in I got treated so poorly because I couldn't understand what the woman was asking me. Yes she had an accent but that wasn't the problem! She was wearing a mask so her voice was muffled so when I asked what several times she gave me an attitude. I sat down and had a nice woman working on my nails until randomly she tells me to move my seat to the next chair... uhm ok... not sure why but I moved. My new seat had pre shaven nail filings on the towel so I waited thinking they would give me a new towel to put my hands on but NOPE. I wanted to leave right then and there but they already stripped my nail of the original polish and didn't want to leave like that. The woman I originally had started working on a totally different client and a new woman who spoke no English whatsoever was now working on my nails on the nasty used towel. I'm getting married in a few months so I wanted to ask her to file my nails a certain way but she didn't understand what I was saying and the original woman had to translate for me. So anyways thought we were on the same page but once she was done I noticed the gel was already far away from my cuticle which is unfortunate. The worst part is that the woman SPLIT my thumb nail and I didn't realize it until two days later when I noticed it underneath the gel. This woman also didn't fix all the air bubbles in the polish so now it's already chipping and I had to file my nails down even more. My children got me a giftcard for ChrIstmas. It was not my usual place but I have heard great things so I was excited to go.... not sure what the buzz is about it was a bad experience! I had an appointment but had to wait a half hour before my manicure began. During my appointment I had to point out numerous issues to the nail technician. She left out the sides of my nail bed and left empty spots. At the end I left with nails that look horrible and polish all over my hands but I just couldn't take it anymore. Ladies... hands down the Best Salon in the area. Been coming here for over a year after searching and searching for the perfect salon. Firstly, it's super clean, they plastic every pedicure bath in between each customer and use new plastic wrapped tools as well. All of the nail techs are so attentive for gel nails and are all great with designs. I get endless compliments on my nails. My fill usually lasts 3 weeks. They also recently renovated and the salon is so modern and beautiful! You won't want to leave. For $35 you can get an amazing gel pedicure, Nails will run between $25-48 depending on your style! I called ahead because I was on a tight schedule. Made a noon appointment. Arrived at 11:55 and waited in a chair for 20 min before my services started. I chose DNC black licorice nail polish. After my nails were filed down the man working on my nails (and coughing in my face) pulls an unlabeled bottle of black polish out of a drawer and says it's better. I confirm that I want a design w stones on my ring fingers and matte top coat on my other nails. While sitting through I noticed that lights kept shutting off and that the polish wasn't setting right and I kept pointing it out. He kept telling me it would be fine and to trust him. I am hurried out of my chair after being charged $45 for a fill w 2 nail designs. (What I paid for a full gel set w design two weeks prior at another salon across town) when I step outside and see #1 the gel coat is puckered and has literally fallen over a ome of the tips so there are some bubble/rounded edges on what should have been coffin nails #2 that there are an unequal number of stones in the designs from one hand to another and #3 the matte top coat is streaky and uneven. I walk back in and the manager tells me to "go show him". He promptly took off the extra stone, then just begins layering on extra coats of gel to every nail. He is not shaping or taking care in the process. At this point I am already running late, and he can tell I am not happy but didn't seem to find my time valuable or be concerned w my satisfaction. I try to leave again and turn around a second time because they look worse! And again his solution was to throw more gel clear coat on top. The last coats were so sloppily applied that I have polish in little shards hanging off in multiple places. 4 days later I am left with a set that is rippled and bumpy, there was no matte top coat applied, one nail has already broken off. And the stones are coming loose so I am afraid to run my hands through my hair, the stones keep ripping it out. And thanks to the experience I was severely late for my function and embarrassed, trying to hide my hands. Will not be returning. read more

Today I made an appointment for 330 and it was very crowded when I came in I checked in at the desk and was told to sit and wait. After 40 minutes of waiting I had to leave to pick up my children at school. Many people were walking out due to long waits. I went to Kim's on a recommendation of a coworker. The salon itself is not remarkable in any way, and the chemical smell is strong, but I got a really nice looking gel fill. I did make an appointment and had to wait about 15 minutes, which is kind of annoying, but I was very happy with the end result. I went to Kim's when they first opened 20 years ago. I saw they were recommended in the Town Forum FB page so I decided to get an acrylic fill done. They always seem to be overbooked. I previously went there for a pedicure, booked with a specific person, and that person didn't even do my nails. Again this most recent visit I booked with a specific tech and was promptly asked if I would be ok having my nails done with someone else...then why bother have us book with a specific person?!? I did say it was ok, but then that nail tech (Sandy) became free and started doing my nails. Then she looks up says "oh my 5:30 is here" (I was her 5pm so I guess I wasn't that important) and passes me off to a man. This man was very nice and did an ok job with my nails. However the language barrier was so bad that I had to constantly repeat what I wanted to have done on my nails. I had a picture reference and wanted to make some changes to my nails. Sadly I was constantly having to tell this man what I did or did not want on my nails. The kicker for me was the client the Sandy had left me to work on left before me!! It is one of the only places I've found that is extremely cheap, so many gel colors, always able to take you in when you call and consistently does a great job on my nails.
