An accidental pit stop that worked out perfectly! There were a ton of flavors to choose from and they even had a treat for pups

After a day full of drinking and relaxing on Chautauqua Lake, we were looking for a cold, creamy…read moretreat to wrap up our day and the night before, we had seen signs for The Sprinkle Cone, so we decided to give them a try! On a Saturday, around 8pm or so, the family and I were walking downtown Jamestown and came here for a cold and creamy treat! From what I could tell, they only served hard ice cream, which was locally made by Addie's Ice Cream, along with sundaes, floats, etc., so no custards here, but no complaints here! After perusing their flavors, we were able to go right up to the window and place our order. There appeared to be about two or three people working, but they were courteous and quick, including the woman who took our order. There were a couple of benches near this shop but more than likely, expect to stand or walk somewhere else to sit. We all ordered medium-sized ice cream cones and upgraded to the waffle cone for an additional 75 cents. I went with their New York Cheese Cake and Mint Oreo Fudge flavors. The NY Cheese Cake flavor was on top and was very creamy! I loved how the cherries were swirled in. The Mint Oreo Fudge was an excellent closer for my ice cream cone as it was fudgy with plenty of Oreo cookie pieces and the right amount of mint flavor. The medium-size was the perfect portion too, it left me plenty satisfied. I will admit the prices might seem a tad on the high side, but the ice cream was very good and I like to support local places when I can. Overall, The Sprinkle Cone scooped out a great experience with friendly customer service and quality hard ice cream. When I come back to Jamestown, I wouldn't have any problems coming back and trying a couple different flavors!

W-O-W. This ice cream. The words escape me as feelings and images of the experience wash over…read more It's great. First rate. I've eaten a lot of fancy ice cream so I will designate myself an authority. The space is open, airy, laid back and a little punk rock. Family friendly with the Buzz Cocks playing in the backround. There's an 80's feel about it all in just the right way. The proprietor makes the ice cream himself with fresh cream every Tuesday. It's sooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooood!!!!! NOT OVERLY SWEET. For example I find Perry's cloyingly sweet. Too much for me. Sprinkle Cone hits it just right. I went with my brother and his two teenage kids. Everyone was unexpectedly blown away. Here's the breakdown. Me: Vanilla and Berry Cobbler in a Sprinkle Cone Ethan: Mint Oreo Fudge and Reses Chunk in a cone Bro: Toasted Coconut and Strawberry in a cone Flynn: Don't remember 'cause he inhaled it! There was evidence of a cone tho Side Note: There is sidewalk chalk aplenty for drawing :@) Ps I head there's a badass indoor skateboard park in the same building!! Price: Increadibly reasonable for what you get.

I love these little independent ice cream stands. Unfortunately, when the big fast food chains move…read moreinto a town, they tend to get driven out of business, but somehow Dairy Delite has survived, even though Warren has multiple fast food joints now. Possibly, that's because it's the only fast food joint on, or even close to, Route 6. (Most of the other options are on Pennsylvania Avenue or Market Street.) Or possibly, it's because the food is really good. The kids were under the impression that they only sell drinks and ice cream. That may have been the case once, but now they offer hot food as well. My grilled chicken sandwich was superb and the broccoli and cheddar bits were a nice break from the usual fries, my sweetie enjoyed her fish sandwich and was delighted by the macaroni and cheese bites, Working Man enjoyed his cheeseburger, and the Cute Little Fluffy Kin raved about the hot dogs. (The hot dogs did smell really good, but I resisted the urge to try to steal some.) I suspect that they may figure out a way to get there even when we're not in town to take them. There is also a very wide selection of ice cream flavours. They take plastic, but charge a dollar more if you don't pay cash. (I don't know how they get away with that.) There are a few picnic tables scattered around, but no inside seating (or washrooms). Any time I've been by during their open season, there has been a lineup at the order windows, so clearly, the locals know that this is a good place to get some grub. It's not fine dining, but it's tasty and fun.

Above & beyond customer service…read more As a result of Visit PA's 2023 Scooped Ice Cream Trail, we found this ice cream shop on our way from Pittsburgh to Erie. It wasn't too far out of our way. We called ahead to make sure they were open. It would have been a bummer otherwise. When we went up to the counter to order, we said we were the Pittsburgh people who called. They were excited to see us. There were a lot of ice cream options. We sat under the patio v. at the tables in the sun. You know this is a go to place when a UPS driver stopped and had his lunch here.

Firstly, I saw the sign advertising your milkshake of the week. Tip for the management = please include the price on your sign. Also, tell us that it comes in a fancy, collector cup if that is the case. Personally, I don't want a fancy cup, and secondly, I don't want to pay over ten dollars for a milkshake. If a customer asks you if it can be made in a regular cup for less money, don't act like you are reinventing the wheel. Anyways, the young woman at the counter was very snooty. Her attitude needs an adjustment. Also, I told her to keep the change for a tip, and she gave me the change back anyway ... who does that? We had to put the cash into the tip bucket ourselves, when it was right next to her. Anyways, I ended up with a regular chocolate malt milkshake, and it had a very bad, bitter aftertaste. I'm not sure why ... No Cheers on this visit!
