The staff was kind, however, the man there didn't wear gloves and his knuckles kept digging into the ice cream as he tried to scoop. Also, it was very expensive and the man didnt mention that you have to pay for the cartoon bowls and for each single scoop, too. Place was a bit clean tho too. read more

I'm from Charlotte, NC and my father lives up in Edinboro and the few times I've been up to visit we end up coming here for ice cream. So I guess you could say it's a tradition to visit! It's in a tiny little shop that is simple, but the ice cream is amazing! The employees are always so patient because you have to try more than one flavor to see what you like. They give you a very large scoop so one is usually good enough for me. Two scoops is usually too overwhelming. The price is about $3-$4, so not too bad. Its a small family business and that I love but I almost drove past the place there is no curb appeal at all. There are a few picnic tables that you can eat at and seating inside. The amount of ice cream they give you is huge too much to finish if you get a banana split, my kids laughed and said NO WAY DADDY! No way you can eat all of that and being the hero dad I said sure I can. I failed, it was too much goodness, my body had dropped 10 degrees and overloaded with more sugar than my body to handle. Amazing ice cream. We were visiting Erie and of course had to ask where the best ice cream was. Without hesitation the answer was of course, Connie's. So we stopped by and were not disappointed! Tons of flavors and a good amount of room to enjoy your freshly scooped ice cream. I enjoyed the fact that it was a family business. It seemed they did a great job of incorporating the community into their work place as well. I would definitely seek this place out if you are in the area. This was our first time visiting. It was dirty inside and all four flavors we ordered tasted basically the same. The texture was weird, too. It was kind of...chewy. Vey disappointed. It was extremely busy though so apparently they do a good business. Definitely recommend Creamland or Sara's instead. read more

Connie's is one of my favorite places to get ice cream in Erie! They tend to also set up at most of the summer events in Erie, so it is really easy to get hooked. They have a great variety of flavors - my favorite is the chocolate turtle- and the portions are generous. For what you get the prices are fair - more costly than a soft serve ice cream stand, but not expensive if you want a truly good ice cream! read more

Amazing!! My husband is always laughing at me for how excited I get about icecream. This place has some of the best. We were passing through town this summer and stopped for an afternoon snack. The TNT is worth 5 stars! The variety of flavors also gets 5 stars. The Salty Carmel Pretzel chocolate ice cream portion was good but the pretzels were soggy so that was disappointing. It's hard to put something like pretzels in ice cream without them being soggy that why I was surprised that they tried. The Nestle's Crunch Squally was delicious and super chocolatey. The service was speedy for the cones but the Squally was a long wait. The price was a bit higher than most local places but the portions were really generous. We got single scoops but they filled the whole waffle cone! It was really busy and there were tables out doors to enjoy the ice cream. I would recommend it to others and if the opportunity arose we would return. read more

Great ice cream, but........ As we were paying ($10.50)for single scoop, dog scoop and Italian ice my husband dropped the Italian ice right in front of the cash register . The girl behind the counter just started ringing up the next customer who was still waiting for their order while I cleaned up the spill. Didn't even ask we we wanted another one . Really great ice cream. They don't carry my favorite dark chocolate ice cream but they produce the best ice cream I have ever had. They are way better than the brand names like hagen daaz or ben and jerry's and cost less than them too. My favorite is pistachio ice cream, black cherry, and red raspberry; but honestly everything they have is the best! There are always two girls working there. One of them is smiley and more generous with the portions. The other one is kind of strange (almost seems like upset that people are coming in). She is probably nice too, but smile a little!! This was my first experience at Connie's. The ice cream was good and the building nice enough. However, I was kind of put off by the woman behind the counter. I had made some small talk when we got there and let them know if was my first time there. She was somewhat cold and then she actually kind of put down what we chose for our ice cream flavors. She even went as far as to say directly to me "That's not what I would've chosen" in a snarky tone. We went to Connie's for the first time in years today. Upon arrival, we asked for a recommendation and received in response the coldest, "No" you could imagine. We won't be returning to Connie's any time soon and will be making a call to the management. If the woman wanted to make a sale she's should have at least made a suggestion but instead was unfriendly and downright rude. It wasn't like they were busy- we were the only people in the shop.
