Very good take-away spot if you want to eat something different in Stockbridge. Generous portions and good chapchae, bulgogi and kimchee.

Delicious takeaway! Portions are very generous. One serving could feed two people for sure.

I had the fire chicken bibimbap and sweet chilli wings and they were both delicious.

Finally got to try this place over the weekend and to quote an old movie, "can you just be…read morewhelmed?" Because that's what the experience was. The service was friendly but quite slow though the place was only half full. The decor is minimal and furniture looks like it's from everyone's favourite flat pack box store. My friend and I got a large kimchi jigae to share and it's kept warm on an electric hot plate which although great to keep the soup hot, completely dominated the table which made eating seem really cramped. The dish itself was tasty enough but didn't blow me away. The small side dishes were potato, bean sprouts and cucumber.. All pickled or glazed as per usual Korean fare. This is the third restaurant on the street serving Korean food and they'll need to up their game to become my top choice.

As this was our first experience of Korean cuisine, the lovely girl explained a few items for starters and what were main courses. We were soon into the menu. Our starters were two omelettes with side dishes, they were very tasty and enjoyable. Our mains were huge but very wholesome with veggies, meat and rice, we began to think we need not have had the starters. But we finished the meal completely and extremely satisfied. We washed the meal down with jasmine tea a grand accompaniment. We are now looking forward to our next visit, which we hope to be soon.

I guess you cater to your population, and the sides may not be that popular. However, what we did get, the kimchi and the bean sprouts, were delicious. Also, they need to provide some different Korean BBQ dipping sauces, and the most simple being the sesame oil with salt. More side dishes that came with the BBQ and proper dipping sauces and this place would be 5 stars.

Still, you are able to order drinks the old fashioned way, using a menu. The place is big enough to cater for larger groups. Not many so. Try to avoid a table near the toilet. It would disturb you when people pass by, constantly. The tables we got had their own grills incorporated into the tables. A few of us chose to grill their meat and vegetables. Personally I prefer to get my food served straight away and not desperately waiting for a grill to finish. But I could see my mates were happy with their option. Think the prices offered were from £12 upwards for a grill set. I ordered pork dumplings as a starter and a beef dish as a main. I can remember only the number 41 as reference to the main. Sadly I was not able to spell its name. I also learned that the name Ong Gie is referring to some sort of pottery. My dishes were well prepared and held plenty of taste. Needless to say. I ate it all. The vegetables that came with the mains were fresh and crispy. Even the service was a bit slow, or maybe it only appeared like it due to me starving, the people were all really polite. Their english might be a bit rusty, but the waitresses are adorable. Korean might not be my kind of food, but I can definitely recommend this place to any lover of Korean food.

So. Many. Dumplings…read more There are only two things that can stop me from squawking when i'm sick: ramen and dumplings. Don't ask me why, but this combo is my flu ridden happy place. Keep your chicken soup, I want shrimp wrapped in wonton. I actually found this place while I was looking for another little asian supermarket that Justin G introduced me to. It's also very good. I'll tell you exactly how good whenever I manage to find it again... But this place is a happy alternative in the meantime. It's fairly big and decently organized. They have three freezers full of dumplings as soon as you enter and they stock my favourite melt-your-face-off spicy ramen, so I was a fast fan. I grabbed three different types of dumplings to tide me over during sick-a-palooza. Judging by the fact that the Beijing wonton dumplings are already done... it's safe to assume these are damn tasty. I also grabbed some good miso, dumpling sauce and fancy soy sauce. Because nothing makes me feel like a true blue adult quite like low sodium, brand name soy sauce. It's the little things. It's a hop, skip and a jump away from Real Foods, so it's a good destination one-two punch for me. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey, but they have a handy, dandy check in offer that took some of that sting off. I figure I have about 35 different dumplings left to try, so yes, i'll definitely be back.
