    Loved this shower!
    Paul C.

TL/DR Highlights: Overall felt very clean Nice bathroom and great shower Great AC Restaurants and bars within walking distance Free happy hour 5-6 Lowlights: No desk in room Parking is expensive Mattress was mediocre I stayed at the Kimpton Pittman for two nights while in the Dallas / central Texas area for meetings hopping around from various locations. I recently got a promotion giving me IHG's Top Tier status so as an IHG n00b I thought I would give it a try. The hotel seemed small but nice- one restaurant, lobby, gym, pool. The staff were all super friendly. I was dismayed that parking was an extra $50 per night (valet) but apparently there is a garage nearby that charges $25 with no in/out privileges for the price. Seems like a miss for Dallas. My status gave me an allegedly upgraded room although it didn't seem like it- awkward layout, small, no desk for business travel (there is a table and chairs you can use for this). And not much of a view. The bathroom was great, however. Loved the shower- so much space, good water pressure, it was perfect! The mattress wasn't great- you could tell which side most guests sleep on because it was obviously compacted compared to the other side. Also, I thought it was strange there is no coffee maker, iron, etc in the room but it is available for request. There was a fully stocked mini bar, robe, and yoga mat. So there are some amenities present and others missing. The neighborhood, Deep Ellum, has hipster vibes and there are many shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Someone said it wasn't the safest area but honestly I didn't notice anything that made me uncomfortable, then again, I live in Chicago so my standards are jaded. Personally, Deep Ellum wasn't my vibe but I appreciated the proximity of options near the hotel. The restaurant's food was mediocre but the drinks and staff were great! Would I stay here again? If I had a reason to be in Deep Ellum this is a great option. Personally, I would probably stay in a different neighborhood and I bet there are nicer & similarly priced hotels in Dallas. That being said I thought this hotel was clean, nice, comfortable and I slept very very well! So it's a great option for the area. Also- many people complained of noise from bars nearby. Wednesday I didn't notice it. Thursday I could hear sounds from a concert or band nearby. It didn't impact my sleep (honestly I slept very well) but the hotel does have ear plugs by the bed so it seems like they took this feedback to heart!

As a (nearly) lifelong IHG Diamond Elite, I often enjoy my stays across various IHG properties, like this one in Dallas. I decided to stay here while spending 4 days in Dallas, FW, Arlington. I was in town for everything from the Stock Yards, to the Zoo (FW), and of course a Cowboys game (we beat the NYG in OT). The Kimpton is absolutely beautiful. The entire hotel, the restaurant, the pool and amenities; all top tier. The room I had (suite) was also incredible. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet who took our car and our luggage. Inside, we were offered a special braised short rib and glass of wine (nice touch). In our room, we enjoyed another complimentary bottle of wine and a curated charcuterie board that was placed there by staff with a note thanking us for our visit. Ok, here's the * I need to put on this review. The location. Now then, it's really a Yin-Yang kinda thing. On one hand, within walking distance, like not even a full block, there is an area that has everything you could possible want to eat. Sushi to ramen, steak to pizza, burgers and Indian and more. Hole in the wall, and reservation / dress code only alike. It's all there. That's great! However, the same exact area is also (unbeknownst to me), a super hot spot in Dallas. Clubs, bars, clubs, bars, clubs... you get the point. Because of this, there is a high police presence at all times, which is good because "safety". But, it is LOUD . I am just not in the middle anymore. 21-25 year old me would've lost my mind at such an over saturated area of clubs and bars. 43 year old me losses my mind at all the food available! Somewhere between 29-32 year old me would've appreciate both. Anyways, the hotel is impeccable. The food options (walking distance) are endless. The area is safe, but very busy. The area is nice, but very loud. Enjoy your stay!

This was the second time I've stayed here and it really is a nice hotel. I especially love the location, so walkable to one of the best cities in Texas. The rooms are spacious and clean! Check in was fast and friendly. They were also very accommodating for our Chase reward perks! Parking is steep, so be prepared. Also, was a little surprised they didn't offer welcome drinks or complimentary water in the rooms. Other Kimpton locations do that. Super pet-friendly though!

Got to spend 4 nights here at the Pittman and it was such a nice stay! Used my points for this entire stay and got to apply a milestone reward/upgrade to this stay as well. We got to stay in a king bedroom suite with a spa bath and since we were celebrating my wife's 29th birthday, it was really nice and special for us. The hotel itself is super nice. Since check in, the service was on point. We got welcomed with a glass of wine and as soon we got up to our room, there was a dessert platter with a card for my wife for her birthday. How thoughtful! The suite itself was incredible and spacious. We fell in love with the spa bath. We used it every night with the bath salts they had for to use. Helped us relax forsure. Loved the neighborhood the hotel was in. We were walking distance to many resteraunts and bars. Overall, very thankful for the Pittman for the great hospitality. Highly reccomend them if your looking to book when in Dallas.

So there are only two hotel chains that I prefer to stay at. Kimpton is one of them. Each time we stay at one, I proclaim it to be my new favorite. From the moment we pulled up and left our car with the valet to the minute we left at the end of our stay, we were treated like gold. The amenities are always primo, and I am particularly fond of the way pets are welcomed and treated as proper guests. We rescued our little guy last August (he had a traumatic life of abuse and neglect), and we take him EVERYWHERE with us. He is getting SO MUCH better. Places and people like those you find at Kimpton are part of it. They are understanding and genuinely care for animals and humans alike. The dog treats and other items offered are little touches that mean the world to me. I also love, love, love that there isn't an extra charge to bring furry friends along. Our room and bathroom were meticulously cleaned. The robes, slippers, and bathroom amenities are spot on. The pool/pool area is simply relaxing and the trees shading the area made the super hot temps seem non-existent. The outdoor bar service and cocktails were just as yummy and awesome as the restaurant inside (Good & Elm). And, you can't beat the evening social hour with free wine and beer. The hotel is located in a great part of Deep Ellum but it is quiet! You don't hear any noise from the Saturday nightlife once you're back inside. The history of the architecture is equally as rad.

We were welcomed like King and Queen at the Kimpton Pitman Hotel in downtown Dallas. This is an historical building where the Grand Lodge of the colored Knights of Pythias was established; designed by the black architect William Sydney Pittman. This is now a modern hotel with spacious modern rooms that embrace a minimalistic style. Melisa and Caroline our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and find our reservation. This was a warm and delightful friendly welcome. At around five o'clock, the hotel offers some free wine and snacks in the lobby which was another friendly gesture. The Kimpton knows has a distinctive and distinguished way to let you know " you are welcomed and special ".

I had a fantastic stay here. Amaya checked me in and she was so kind and warm. Feel like we were best friends immediately. Amaya checked on my room immediately as I got to my room. Next level service. Classy. The front door a person opened the door every time. Got me feelin rich! The room is spacious and nice. The chromecast wasn't working with Max. Odd. Good lighting but the lights oddly confused me a bit. Weird. Room gets nice and dark for optimal sleeping. warm shower. Plenty of toiletries. Chocolate placed on my bed after cleaning. Adorable. There's a gym. I wish I'd known about the bikes and ridden those around town. Cool feature!

A lovely boutique hotel in downtown Dallas, this hotel is well appointed and well situated. The lobby offers a place to join friends for a casual game of backgammon or dominoes. There are loaner bikes and scooters for the guest's use and a nightly cocktail featuring free adult beverages. The studio suite we stayed in had an elegant industrial feeling that included cement floors and ceiling balanced by a beautiful soaker tub.

Staff were professional and very gracious. decor, rooms and amenities were on spot. Would look forward to staying here again.

    I. LOVE. THIS. HOTEL. I've always been a big fan of Kimptons, but this one might be one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I've stayed here multiple times, and each time has been superb. The staff is always friendly and welcoming; my status as a Diamond IHG member is always recognized and results in a significant upgrade; and I'm always offered breakfast and bar credit, which is always a solid addition. The prices might be a little steep, but it is well-worth it for this spot, which is pretty solid location-wise as well. The typical Kimpton experience is all there: bikes available, social/wine hour, unique hotel, and so forth. They also do random other things like hot chocolate, other beverages available, and so forth, but thankfully, the hotel is solid so these things don't need to "make up" for the not great hotel. The restaurant could use a lot of work, but the hotel itself is excellent and has become my go-to whenever I'm in Dallas.

What is the pool Scene like on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes there's a pool there on Saturdays and Sundays.

How safe is the neighborhood/surrounding area, especially at night? I've heard Deep Ellum has a bad reputation.

It's as safe as any night.

Did they have bikes to borrow like the advertise? How was the pool area?

There's lots of homeless people outside and not safe in my opinion. Just beware when booking. There wasn't many highly rated restaurants near Omni hotel, had to drive to places. They also host lots of events outside the hotel on their lawn. Hotel is nice. Staffs are super polite and trained. Everything is clean and super decorative. Hotel has restaurants on the first floor, they have small pool, small gym, and spa which you have to pay for. I stayed for two weeks and needed my clothes washed. The hotel does have a service where they send it out to get it washed. But it was insanely expensive. To wash a shirt was around $10. It would have cost me like $150-$200 for a week worth of clothes. I drove 20 min to the nearest coin laundry and spent couple dollars. Would love to see coin laundry in the hotel. Gym: The gym has dumbbells that only go up to 75lb. No barbells. The machine to do back, arms, etc were uncomfortable to use. Pool: Pool is on the same floor as the gym. Can see downtown Dallas. I think it's infinity pool(?) but it's pointing to the hotel building rather than facing downtown Dallas. Room: Room was super nice. The A/C is amazing, works very well. As soon as I got back to room, I set room to 62F. Then to 68F when i got cold. I stayed for 14 days and found out on my last day that there's a fridge hidden in the cabinet. I was super upset about that. The soaps, shampoo, etc are nice. The staff gives you new set even if you are using them and not empty. Price: My rate was $170 through business portal. So probably cheaper. For 14 days (13 nights), I paid little over $3000 due to various taxes and parking your rental car is like $30(?) a day. Really nice hotel, fast elevators, has gym/spa, near freeway and in Downtown Dallas. I just didn't like the environment as soon as you leave the hotel, feels unsafe.

We had breakfast in the hotel and our server was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. We visited the pool and were surprised that it was not heated. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. My first shower would only get warm and not hot so maintenance had to come up and show me a safely button to push which allows the water to get hot. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). While it is a business area with large beautiful buildings and is safer than other parts of downtown, like all major US cities that we travel to frequently for work, homelessness has increased in the area--be careful walking around, especially at night. As for hotel essentials, on the third floor water pressure and temperate were good. The mattress was good and did not hurt our backs. Lighting in the room was brighter than many other contemporary hotels. Some staff were friendlier than others, but all were at least ok. There is a free hotel shuttle that will take you within 3 miles of the hotel--remember to give the driver a small cash tip. On this visit it seemed like the hotel elevators were in need of service. Although the hotel is known for their themed rooms, we prefer the non-themed ones. Last time we were in an Africa themed room and did not like it. This time we were in a non-themed room and it made our stay much better. The standard room was one of the top nicest and most beautiful rooms we have stayed at on a business trip. The room was spacious, well maintained, had high quality decor, and good aesthetics. We would definitely stay in this room again. There was also a private balcony with a sound/storm door. There was a good desk to work at. There is a business center down the hall, free coffee in the morning on each floor, and free snacks in the lobby in the evening. The hotel is near by several upscale restaurants and a strip mall. The strip mall has a gas station and across in another strip mall a Potbelly Sandwich shop, Smash burger, and an upscale possibly private steak house that took over for Morton's that closed. A little further at 2100 McKinney there is the 2100 Deli that is good for a cheap fast breakfast. The hotel has the Dragonfly restaurant off the lobby. It is more of an upscale sit down experience. We had breakfast here on our previous visit and it was nice. The hotel still seems to us more like a business stay place than a family vacation type stay. However, if on another business trip to the area, we would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Hotel ZaZa in Uptown Dallas. The staff were amazing, friendly, and…read moreon top of everything. The bathroom was great, and the shower had the kind of water pressure that makes you want to stay in there longer than you should. The little extras were appreciated, especially the cookies that come out on certain days, and the morning coffee and fruit. The reason I cannot give it five stars is the overall value. The price point sits higher than what you actually get. The room furniture was pretty scratched, the bed sagged in the middle, and we had some maintenance issues on our last morning with the toilet not flushing well and the shower backing up. Nothing trip-ending, but noticeable.
