My wife and I spent a night at the Kimpton with our dogs for our anniversary. The hotel is pretty nice. The staff was very friendly and I love that they are very pet friendly. We stayed in an Epic King Suite and the room was large and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice and spatious. Now the things that could have been better. - the floors in the hallways had numerous stains - the floor in the room needed a mop. Both of our feet were dark from walking around the room - there isn't a designated pet relief area - the biggest problem is the noise from outside. Deep Ellum is loud, even on a Sunday night and you can hear it all in the room. It finally quieted down after 2am. Overall, I would stay here again even though it was not perfect. read more

Love the hotel in the Deep Ellum part of Dallas. Kimpton always gets it right. It is clean , modern with nice sitting areas and a great onsite restaurant. Special shout out to Eleanor who arranged a nice charcuterie tray and bottle of wine in the room knowing it was my birthday weekend. It is walkable to many bars and restaurants in Deep Ellum area which was nice. Coffee bar in Libby is a nice touch (coffee could be hotter). Bikes available to guests , nice. I recently got a promotion giving me IHG's Top Tier status so as an IHG n00b I thought I would give it a try. The hotel seemed small but nice- one restaurant, lobby, gym, pool. The staff were all super friendly. I was dismayed that parking was an extra $50 per night (valet) but apparently there is a garage nearby that charges $25 with no in/out privileges for the price. Seems like a miss for Dallas. My status gave me an allegedly upgraded room although it didn't seem like it- awkward layout, small, no desk for business travel (there is a table and chairs you can use for this). And not much of a view. The bathroom was great, however. Loved the shower- so much space, good water pressure, it was perfect! The mattress wasn't great- you could tell which side most guests sleep on because it was obviously compacted compared to the other side. Also, I thought it was strange there is no coffee maker, iron, etc in the room but it is available for request. There was a fully stocked mini bar, robe, and yoga mat. So there are some amenities present and others missing. The neighborhood, Deep Ellum, has hipster vibes and there are many shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Someone said it wasn't the safest area but honestly I didn't notice anything that made me uncomfortable, then again, I live in Chicago so my standards are jaded. Personally, Deep Ellum wasn't my vibe but I appreciated the proximity of options near the hotel. The restaurant's food was mediocre but the drinks and staff were great! Would I stay here again? If I had a reason to be in Deep Ellum this is a great option. Personally, I would probably stay in a different neighborhood and I bet there are nicer & similarly priced hotels in Dallas. That being said I thought this hotel was clean, nice, comfortable and I slept very very well! So it's a great option for the area. Also- many people complained of noise from bars nearby. Wednesday I didn't notice it. Thursday I could hear sounds from a concert or band nearby. It didn't impact my sleep (honestly I slept very well) but the hotel does have ear plugs by the bed so it seems like they took this feedback to heart! read more

I feel this hotels rating is dependent on what your intentions are for your visit. If your visit is all about being downtown, and being in walking distance for entertainment and restaurants. Then this hotel is easily a 5 star rating. For me this hotel is a 3 star, why is that? Well I do like the fact entertainment, including restaurants are all within walking distance. But I also like driving out and exploring the city and neighboring areas. After a long day of being out, I want to come back and have access to a mini fridge and microwave. Well that's not available here. The sensory activated mini fridge that is in your room is stocked full of drinks including alcoholic drinks for a hefty price. Complimentary water in your room is out of the question. There is water in the lobby area though for free. I suggest you don't touch any of the items in the rooms fridge because, you will be charged at the end of your stay. I also can't justify paying $55 for parking per day. You're already spending a good amount for the hotel, and to add parking fee's on top of that is just criminal. Now I do like some things about this hotel other than the location. I like how clean and comfortable the hotel rooms and lobby are. I like the fact the customer service was amazing. I also like the fact there's a restaurant onsite, that offers room service up to 9pm. As a (nearly) lifelong IHG Diamond Elite, I often enjoy my stays across various IHG properties, like this one in Dallas. I decided to stay here while spending 4 days in Dallas, FW, Arlington. I was in town for everything from the Stock Yards, to the Zoo (FW), and of course a Cowboys game (we beat the NYG in OT). The Kimpton is absolutely beautiful. The entire hotel, the restaurant, the pool and amenities; all top tier. The room I had (suite) was also incredible. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the valet who took our car and our luggage. Inside, we were offered a special braised short rib and glass of wine (nice touch). In our room, we enjoyed another complimentary bottle of wine and a curated charcuterie board that was placed there by staff with a note thanking us for our visit. Ok, here's the * I need to put on this review. The location. Now then, it's really a Yin-Yang kinda thing. On one hand, within walking distance, like not even a full block, there is an area that has everything you could possible want to eat. Sushi to ramen, steak to pizza, burgers and Indian and more. Hole in the wall, and reservation / dress code only alike. It's all there. That's great! However, the same exact area is also (unbeknownst to me), a super hot spot in Dallas. Clubs, bars, clubs, bars, clubs... you get the point. Because of this, there is a high police presence at all times, which is good because "safety". But, it is LOUD . I am just not in the middle anymore. 21-25 year old me would've lost my mind at such an over saturated area of clubs and bars. 43 year old me losses my mind at all the food available! Somewhere between 29-32 year old me would've appreciate both. Anyways, the hotel is impeccable. The food options (walking distance) are endless. The area is safe, but very busy. This was the second time I've stayed here and it really is a nice hotel. I especially love the location, so walkable to one of the best cities in Texas. The rooms are spacious and clean! Check in was fast and friendly. They were also very accommodating for our Chase reward perks! Parking is steep, so be prepared. Got to spend 4 nights here at the Pittman and it was such a nice stay! Used my points for this entire stay and got to apply a milestone reward/upgrade to this stay as well. We got to stay in a king bedroom suite with a spa bath and since we were celebrating my wife's 29th birthday, it was really nice and special for us. The hotel itself is super nice. Since check in, the service was on point. We got welcomed with a glass of wine and as soon we got up to our room, there was a dessert platter with a card for my wife for her birthday. How thoughtful! The suite itself was incredible and spacious. We fell in love with the spa bath. We used it every night with the bath salts they had for to use. Helped us relax forsure. Loved the neighborhood the hotel was in. We were walking distance to many resteraunts and bars. Overall, very thankful for the Pittman for the great hospitality. My husband booked a room for my birthday on the weekend of the Deep Ellum Community Art Fair. The hotel staff were very friendly from the time we arrived to the time we checked out. The room was bigger than expected and very clean. The soaker tub was worth the upgrade and I highly recommend making sure your room has one. I love how such a beautiful hotel exists in a historical building in one of the most important historical districts in Dallas and within walking distance to the Deep Ellum nightlife. So there are only two hotel chains that I prefer to stay at. Kimpton is one of them. Each time we stay at one, I proclaim it to be my new favorite. From the moment we pulled up and left our car with the valet to the minute we left at the end of our stay, we were treated like gold. The amenities are always primo, and I am particularly fond of the way pets are welcomed and treated as proper guests. We rescued our little guy last August (he had a traumatic life of abuse and neglect), and we take him EVERYWHERE with us. He is getting SO MUCH better. Places and people like those you find at Kimpton are part of it. They are understanding and genuinely care for animals and humans alike. The dog treats and other items offered are little touches that mean the world to me. I also love, love, love that there isn't an extra charge to bring furry friends along. Our room and bathroom were meticulously cleaned. The robes, slippers, and bathroom amenities are spot on. The pool/pool area is simply relaxing and the trees shading the area made the super hot temps seem non-existent. The outdoor bar service and cocktails were just as yummy and awesome as the restaurant inside (Good & Elm). And, you can't beat the evening social hour with free wine and beer. The hotel is located in a great part of Deep Ellum but it is quiet! You don't hear any noise from the Saturday nightlife once you're back inside. We were welcomed like King and Queen at the Kimpton Pitman Hotel in downtown Dallas. This is an historical building where the Grand Lodge of the colored Knights of Pythias was established; designed by the black architect William Sydney Pittman. This is now a modern hotel with spacious modern rooms that embrace a minimalistic style. Melisa and Caroline our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and find our reservation. This was a warm and delightful friendly welcome. At around five o'clock, the hotel offers some free wine and snacks in the lobby which was another friendly gesture. This hotel is shady and I will never stay here again. Upon check in, I go into my room and I walk in the bathroom and there is feces on the toilet seat. I get moved to another room where they are missing necessary items for a proper stay. They don't have a dnd sign in the room and I told the front desk that I do not need service and they serviced my room anyways, in which they laid my dirty clothes on my travel blanket that I sleep with. I asked for an iron and the iron was broken, it took 30+ min to bring me a new iron. In addition, I checked my bank statements and they charged my card multiple times for "incidentals." Outside of my experience, my coworker returned back to her room to her door open, the toilet used and not flushed. I feel unsafe here, it's filthy, the staff is rude, and they're shady read more

Friendly and attentive staff. good free coffee in the morning. Lots of available options up add to the coffee. Nice pool. Has a wheelchair lift. Cute outdoor fire pit. My husband loves this hotel. He thinks it's really well done. Any time we travel with our dog, we'll stay at a Kimpton. My husband is going to join IHG rewards. Cons: $50 for overnight parking at valet. I liked the modern elements of the hotel. I also appreciated that it was in a great location walking distance to restaurants and nightlife. I do think that some of the staff should be more considerate and explain in details...front staff and the restaurant host/bartender. I don't have names. One thing you can remind them of is to offer water when guests arrive. I checked in on Tuesday. Friday afternoon was the 1st time I was offered a complimentary bottle of water. No Bueno. I didn't know. I thought the water was extra because the bottles in the room were too expensive. Also, I didn't know about the location and the various restaurants and activities nearby. I'm from out of town. So, I kept asking one of the front staff wanting a human recommendation and not ones that I merely saw online as I did my research. She was irritated that I had asked and directed me online. EVENTUALLY, she printed out a list of nearby restaurants and attractions, but that was near the end of my stay and not at the beginning. The doorman and the waiter I had for breakfast were great. Overall, I think the front desk should improve their service a bit with offering water and recommendations of activities nearby. Overall, the pool, hotel lobby, room, and restaurant were NICE and modern. I also liked the secured key entrance for the elevators. Why were the elevators breaking down so often? They had fixed it immediately, but it was quite concerning. Also, I had requested a room closer to the elevator because I can't walk long distances because of my disability. However, I was assigned a room all the way at the end of the hallway, long walk, and nowhere near the elevator. These minor issues makes me wonder if I would return to Kimpton. read more

I. LOVE. THIS. HOTEL. I've always been a big fan of Kimptons, but this one might be one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I've stayed here multiple times, and each time has been superb. The staff is always friendly and welcoming; my status as a Diamond IHG member is always recognized and results in a significant upgrade; and I'm always offered breakfast and bar credit, which is always a solid addition. The prices might be a little steep, but it is well-worth it for this spot, which is pretty solid location-wise as well. The typical Kimpton experience is all there: bikes available, social/wine hour, unique hotel, and so forth. They also do random other things like hot chocolate, other beverages available, and so forth, but thankfully, the hotel is solid so these things don't need to "make up" for the not great hotel. The restaurant could use a lot of work, but the hotel itself is excellent and has become my go-to whenever I'm in Dallas. read more

We are so lucky we chose to stay at the Kimpton during our family vacation to Dallas! Their warm service and attention to detail in an amazing location made our experience so wonderful. Christian in particular deserves a special shout out - she knew my name, responded so quickly to requests and was always so professional. You can text the front desk or call if you need anything and they're always so responsive. The breakfast was so delicious and there's free amazing coffee in the morning! And at 5-6pm there's wine and a snack :) we walked to all the amazing restaurants in Deep Ellum and also enjoyed the heated pool at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again! read more

Was looking for a hotel stay in Dallas that we could bring the dogs. Love that kimpton allows them without size restrictions or extra charges. The valet was totally worth it for us. Hate dealing with parking in a new city. All the staff was super friendly and accommodating with the dogs. We did a breakfast special that came with the all American breakfast. Worth the few extra bucks. The restaurant looked amazing, we just had other plans. We did get some drinks from their bar and were able to charge it to the room. The pool was really nice looking. Didn't have time to enjoy it. We also did a romance package which included some wine, dessert, and most importantly extended our checkout time to 2. So worth it not having to rush out. The actual room was a great size, we did the premium king room. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had a large tub in the Walk in shower. Suuuuper helpful removable shower head, came in handy cleaning up the dogs. Only con is that it is loud. You can totally hear everything from outside and it's next to a commuter train. Our family went on a family trip to Dallas and stayed at the Kimpton Pittman Hotel, and we had an amazing time! The interior is super modern, clean, and stylish--really gave off a fancy vibe. The location was perfect too, with museums and the aquarium nearby. I loved how big and clean the bathroom was, and somehow, we even managed to get a room upgrade, which made things even better! I don't think there's self-parking, though. Our kids especially enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit outside--it was such a cozy spot. I absolutely LOVED my stay here at Kimpton Pittman Hotel. This boutique hotel is small but mighty. It is very clean and modernly decorated. There is a bar & restaurant connected to the hotel, which also has very good ratings on Yelp. The gym has the bare essentials but suffices for anyone looking for a good workout. There is an outdoor pool, with two separate fire pits on the exterior portion of the hotel. All amenities are accessible with your room card. The individual hotel rooms are cozy but have super high ceilings, which doesn't make the space seem crowded. The bathroom has a sliding barn door, rather than the typical hinged door. Front desk concierge is also super friendly! If you forgot to pack anything, they'll likely be able to get whatever item you need (complimentary). Bottled waters, free of charge, are also available if you ask the front desk. You can also check in your luggage/bags with them if your flight is later than check-out time (i.e. noon). I booked my 4-day/3-night reservation via Hotwire, so it was a luck-of-the-draw. But I'm SO glad that it ended up being this hotel! read more

We have stayed here 3x now for 4 nights at a time The hotel is very tranquil and relaxing~ the ambiance is very inviting to all your senses. It's very clean and well maintained The onsite restaurant is delicious with good food and tasty cocktails and has a very warm atmosphere which for me is hard at hotel restaurants ~ my only issue is I wish they didn't close so early on Sundays The staff are all very attentive and friendly ~ Amd that is much appreciated!! Their customer support and customer service for those who are disabled. I have a disability in my right arm. I had my brother call the hotel ahead of my making a reservation to make sure they were able to provide accommodations for me. He gave me assurance they said they could. When I got to the hotel to check in however, they said they had someone staying in the room that had my accommodations, and argued that when my brother called them, they said they would "do their best" upon check in. Let's assume their version is accurate-- you mean to tell me you don't know who is staying in which of your rooms at any given time? If you did, you would have told my brother that unfortunately you do not have a room available with accommodations for me. It was infuriating, inconvenient, and the hotel staff did not offer any resolution. They just pointed me to the third party booker my brother used to reserve the room to cancel the reservation. I spent the next two and a half hours getting a refund through the third party booker, researching a new hotel that had the accommodations I needed, booking a new room, and travelling to the new hotel. I don't understand the positive reviews of this hotel. 1) The location is NOT ideal. While it may be located in Deep Ellum, it's at the far west end, so all the best DE venues aren't that quick to get to. Plus, if you wanna walk to other areas of downtown (JFK, Arts District, etc.) you can't walkt here. Not only are they annoyingly *just* too far, you have to cross some highway overpasses that are shady AF. Not the best look for a hotel that places its value on "location". 2) YOU WILL NOT SLEEP. The noise of the neighborhood is unbelievable. Came for a 4 night stay. There is a train across the street. The develpment the hotel is in has 2 nightclubs that absolutely blast music til 2-3 AM. Worst is the bass from the music, which will stir the floor and your bed. I repeat: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP HERE. 3) The clubs aren't the only source of music. Stupid cars with stupid otherworldly loud exhausts drive by all night. 4) RUDE staff that completely dismissed my noise concerns, falling back to "oh this is a lively neighborhood". It's not lively; it's a party pen. As I said, came for a 4 night stay, left after 2 night and went to The Joule downtown. read more

Beautiful, sparkling clean hotel. Very modern decor. It was perfectly located for my visit to Dallas (I was selected to be an extra in a Cody Jinks music video that was being recorded at Adair's Saloon nearby.) Every staff member I interacted with at the front desk went above and beyond. Connor checked me in. I had taken a much earlier flight due to weather issues and he kindly checked me in early. My room rate included breakfast the next morning but again, because of bad weather, I had rearranged my flight home to leave at 5 am. He offered to give me drink coupons for the bar instead. He was super friendly and helpful. I also made a couple of other stops at the desk for assistance. A young lady recommended a nearby restaurant (I think her name was Amy but not sure?) She was so great! And later that evening, the woman at the front deak - again I did not get her name - was helpful. Finally, JR helped me the next morning with making arrangements to get to the airport. This trip was really a treat for me and everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make it special. I love a Kimpton and this one is no exception. Excellent location and amazing service. You're walking distance from tons of super interesting restaurants and night spots. The rooms are large and beautiful, if not a bit minimalist. No mini bar or snacks, but both are available at the front desk. They have the customary Happy Hour, but this location also has a pool and outdoor fireplace that's definitely worth checking out. Plus, the hotel restaurant (Elm&Good) is top notch. This is a very chic and modern hotel. From the moment you walk in you are greeted kindly by the front desk staff. The rooms are very modern and well appointed. They offer a complementary wine hour in the evening that is a nice touch. We stayed in one of the one bedroom suites, and it was very spacious and decorated, very modern. The beds were super comfortable and the room was spotless. The toiletries provided are very good quality. We had room service once while we were there and we were service by Maria who was such a sweetheart and provided outstanding customer service. My only con about this hotel and this is nitpicking, is the valet is pretty pricey but then again it has become pricey in almost every major city. Expect to pay $50 plus tax per night. This hotel is located in a good area and is priced very well for the caliber of hotel. The on-site bar and restaurant are very nice as well and the mixologist that they have whip up some fabulous cocktails. I could happily live at this hotel. The decoration throughout is on point to the tiny details. The staff all seemed very genuinely happy to help with anything I needed - they didn't even flinch when I asked for almond milk or deodorant (good job on forgetting this one, self) - I didn't have my pup with me but they also don't charge a fee for having pets and have dog treats stationed everywhere. The room was clean and comfy and the bathroom shower /tub combo was gorgeous. My only spoiled brat complaint here was I wish there was bubble bath supplies provided or for sale. Parking was expensive for self parking but not beyond typical for a nice hotel and I genuinely Felt my car was safe in the garage (even the entrance was gated). The rating I gave this is 4 1/2 stars if it had not been for the guy that checked me in it would've been a 5, even though my experience with him was unpleasant (he was a bit condescending and referred to me as man! when I pay money to a business my expectation is to be called Mr or Sir not my first name and not man) it was not something to deter me from bringing my family here the next time I return to Dallas because this hotel was great! the pillows the mattress and the comforter was like sleeping on clouds they have a really big shower I mean room for like four people it's pretty cool and the room is very high-tech you turn the power on in the room by holstering your key card into a caddy which then turns on all the lights in the room, it was my first time staying here and I wish that the guy who checked me in would've walked me through the features of the room It had a smart speaker that I was unfamiliar with but I googled it, it's from Sweden? I can't remember the name of it, there's robes in the room and wonderful lotions shampoos conditioners and body washes I actually felt spoiled the only problem besides the guy that checked me in was that I was unable to hook my Xbox to the Internet which is very important to me but since I was able to play Internet enabled games I was cool. read more

As a Kimpton nerd (or "Inner Circle," as they call it), I was thrilled to see a new Texas property - and right in time for my birthday. We went to Dallas for the weekend of my birthday (aka Christmas), and there were no disappointments. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Curtis, we had a wonderful experience. We were given a lovely upgrade to the One Bedroom Suite, which came with a separate living area and a bathroom with a deep soaking tub. We had a small issue with our TV, and they were so receptive to responding to the issue. As always, it was perfectly pet-friendly, and our little dog, Napoleon, was greeted by name. I always feel like a VIP when I stay at Kimptons, and Pittman was no different. All in all, this was a great property. It is sleek, clean, and well-appointed. The restaurant staff, especially the bar manager, were incredible. AND it's all in a beautiful, historical building (with a new addition). We will DEFINITELY be back! read more
