Although the hotel is gorgeous, we had many problems with it this weekend. The hotel staff inside is very cordial, very nice and accommodating. We always have insane requests when it comes to pillows because of our backs and they accommodated. My qualm with this hotel is we were here to "work" at Silo and any time we wanted to leave to go to the club, the valet guys lost our keys. At one point we called an Uber and right when the uber came they found our keys (an hour after trying to leave). So my recommendation is to make sure your key is put somewhere safe that they can find once they bring it up. Our car was physically there but no key. Also the bathtub in our room.... I love a good shower with great pressure. Problem with this tub is the bottom felt dirty, like there was this residue that couldn't come off... like speckles so we had to wear our gym shower shoes in there to make sure we didn't feel icky lol 3/10 experience read more

Not that impressive of a Fairmont. Certainly rundown, in need of many repairs, and an internet upgrade is required. A lot of carpet, a few elevators didn't work, bathrooms were locked on the banquet floor at times, water stains on the walls in the ballroom...and the lobby smelled like shaving cream. The room on the other hand was nice, very quiet, and clean. I had a suite, and the space was great. The internet was mostly unusable though, even with the better internet option with an Accor account. For zoom meetings I had to just use a hotspot. I did eat at the restaurant and took a drink at the bar. One old fashioned with Basil Hayden was $26. No thanks. The food in the restaurant was good, I had a Caesar salad with shrimp for lunch one day and it was fresh, well dressed and the shrimp were great. Parking seems to be valet only. read more

A disappointing stay at one of our favorite hotel brands. The room was spacious (we had a suite) although the bathroom was not. Decor was as expected of a Fairmont with the old school château vibes. Too dimly lit in the rooms unfortunately. A few items in the room like a light and curtains did not work properly. There's also no fan in the bathroom. What was most disappointing was the service. One morning, we asked for coffee and water three times, waited for 2 hours and never got them. They were not accommodating when I needed to heat up food for my child. Like the room had been sealed off since the 1800s and only reopened for a game of Will They Survive the Allergens? Spoiler again: I did not. I'm extremely allergic to mold and mildew -- which this place offered in abundance. Complimentary, of course. The sheets were somehow both burned and scratchy, like someone tried to iron them with a curling iron from 1974. The bathroom? I've seen high school gym toilets that felt more "Fairmont" than this cracked, stained porcelain disappointment. The tub looked like it had survived a street fight with a belt sander. Let's not forget the elevator, which looked like it had been used as a scratching post by every cat in the tri-county area. Not "vintage charm" -- just sad relic. This hotel is stuck in the 90s when it comes to the decor. So you may have the impression to be stuck in the past. But the hotel offer all accommodations needed. I used to come here often, so it was a good feeling. I had to wait for awhile at the entry as the valet was gone. The reception was the same feeling; as one young man was overseeing the check-in process on his own. Maybe a new guy? Otherwise the room are spacious and clean with a decent view of downtown. The bedroom have a brown and feutre tone. I do like the Asian decor and the Wine Spectator magazine in the room. Service was overall very solid and professional. The receptionist was kind enough to give us a late check out as we were in Dallas for a board meeting. The hotel offers great discount online so this is definitely a great value. read more

Aww this place is just old and haggard and tired. Like maybe it was chic in the 70s and has literally not been touched since then - with the exception of the random decision to add Le labo products. The decor is so drab and there are zero amenities in the room, including water which you have to request at the front desk. You can hear the elevator clunking up and down nonstop - it's so loud I thought it was a streetcar. I'm picky with hotels and am not one of the "it's fine we'll only sleep there" type of gals. So when I read the negative words I panicked but went through with it bc of the great location. SO glad I did. It's wildly clean. Huge suite. Perfect location. Could the decor be more updated? Def. Is it a blocker to my enjoyment? Checkin was smooth, but there was such a long wait for the elevator! There were several people waiting...so much so that some of us had to get on a second elevator when that one finally came. It was slow the whole time. I didn't use any of the amenities or eat there, so I can't speak to that, but the rest of the experience was fine. read more

We booked a stay at Fairmont for a concert we were attending in Dallas. We chose Fairmont for its reputation of being on the high end side and its proximity to the venue. Upon arrival, we realized that parking was unsafe unless you utilized the hotel's valet- $50/night with as much come and go as you please. We scoped the other parking options and the lots were full of shattered glass, which made the choice an easy one. Use the valet! The hotel lobby was bustling with a couple of conventions and a beautiful and robust display of fresh cut flowers. Concierge was friendly and helpful with local tips. Joseph was particularly helpful! Our room was meh and didn't include a fridge. We called the front desk and they promptly brought one up. But all in all, the room was outdated and left us wanting more. Which on our last night, concierge took it upon themselves to upgrade us to a much larger and nicer room. So thank you for that, Thomas! The pool is chill but lively. Family friendly while also not a cacophony of screams and crying. Just laughter and nice tunes at an appropriate volume. The gym was small but had everything we needed for a great workout and was clean! There were so many dining options around that we didn't try the hotel's restaurant. But I hear it's good. The real star of the show for the Fairmont is the staff! They went above and beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. While the rooms could use an update, I would return if Joseph and Thomas were continuing to do the lord's work. Thanks guys! read more

One of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a long time - possibly ever! Between the water outage for the entire hotel (no shower, no toilet - sewage was building up in our room), the AC in the room going out, the unresponsive staff, the $50/day valet cost with no free parking alternative, the $14/day internet charge with no free alternative, and the most uncomfortable bed I've experienced in a hotel, I will never chose to stay here again. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I feel bad and don't want you reader's to think I'm prone to hyperbole. Check out my other reviews and you'll see I tend to be overly generous. Including now when I should give 1 star instead of 2. I also understand some of the things weren't their fault (water outage for instance), but how they responded, or better yet didn't respond, was not ok. Bless all the customers who were here who had to leave the hotel that morning (possibly for a big event) without being able to shower, comfortably use their bathroom, brush their teeth, and get ready properly! For all I know they could have been going to the most important interview of their career smelling like body odor and bad breath. Luckily, my big event was the day prior. The water was out from around 7pm the night before and didn't come back on until around 8am the next day - so even if you do your hygiene mostly at night you were still out of luck. Also, the pool is not heated, and was too cold to get in. No hot tub either. That was a real bummer for us. Additionally, when we were checking in we had one of the longest lines I've ever seen. It took us at least 30 minutes to make our way to the front desk for the check in process. There was a big event/conference going on so I thought we just showed up at the wrong time... nope it was something I saw multiple times during our stay. Why this many people / companies choose to stay here is beyond me. This hotel is old and it shows. For hotels in the same price point I'd recommend staying somewhere elsewhere. But if you do stay here, be prepared for long sweaty nights in uncomfortable beds, and the possibility of important amenities not working when you need them most. Happy travels! read more

We booked thru booking.com for 2 nights stay for this past weekend. I lived in SF and Fairmont has a solid reputation there so I did not hesitate with locking in our dates. Positives: *Location was great. Easy to get to our destinations. *Good size room. *Concierge Mgr - very professional and helpful. *Onsite Starbucks - full menu store. *They accommodated us for early check-in as we arrived around 11:30a. Negatives: *Our room was very dated. *The bathtub drained very slow. *The pipes rattled. *On Saturday afternoon around 3:30-4pm - there are multiple elevators but only one were working. No one came to address the issues while they knew there's a problem because there's an elevator repair technician in the working elevator. *Reception Desk staff seem tired. She mentioned if we were Fairmont members we would get free WiFi. We mentioned we are members with various hotels. She never wanted to explain further. The sign of a tired/low motivated staff. * I spoke to someone on Saturday night to set-up a Wake Up call for 5:15a and 5:30a. No one ever called. * The valet staff were overwhelmed and overworked. Give them at least 20 mins. We were told there's a $100m renovation starting end of this year. We would give this place another chance once the renovations are completed. read more

Super disappointed. Took my nieces to Dallas for a 13th birthday trip and decided to stay at the fairmont since it's pretty classic. When we pulled up, there's one place to pull into and they told me it would be $56/night for parking and that the hotel was valet only. Then once entering the hotel the front staff wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped and the room was less than desirable for the nightly price. There were stains on the towels, damage to the room interior, shower curtain was covered in mold at the bottom, room snacks were all in what appeared to be reused boxes... Up in the Dallas area for a couple of days and stayed at the Fairmont Hotel. The hotel seemed old but clean and well kept. It was cold there in Dallas and so was the hotel. For some reason the south west side of the hotel was warmer than the north side. The meeting rooms by the store inside the hotel were cold. While at the bar, ran into a few vagrants but were escorted out by security. The libations at the bar were very good and the food was excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly but some were measurable, a tall elderly gentleman wearing a black coat. I observed him working every day, no change in attitude. The rest of the staff excellent. The parking tenants did an outstanding job, concerning the cold weather. read more

We just checked out after a two day stay for a mini staycation. The three stars is for the convenient location near everything and the friendly staff. We arrived at 130 pm on Friday and they let us check in early which was a plus so we didn't have to wander around waiting for 3 pm check in. We pulled up and they took our truck and we went ahead and used valet parking (not included in the stay like other places we've stayed in the past, just FYI) and it was still worth the money not having to worry about our truck. Ron helped us to our room and answered all our questions. They serve meals but they aren't included like other hotels we've been to. Our room was fairly nice minus a few thing, our bathroom sink got legit clogged where nothing was going down day one, a piece of the shower fell off while my husband was showering, food from the mini fridge was missing (they'll probably charge us for that). My favorite part about my stay was the rooftop pool, it was fairly larger than any hotel I've been to and the view was amazing! And for how hot the weather has been the pool was still very cool and refreshing. In all honesty not the greatest stay I've had but it was alright. Might be back on day might not. read more

I have stayed at Fairmont Hotels around the US for years and their top notch service and standards keep me going back, but I will never stay at the Dallas Fairmont again. I am very surprised The Fairmont name is on this hotel. The Dallas Fairmont is not even close to a luxury hotel in my opinion. Here are the highlights: 1)There is noise in the walls that sounded like jackhammering that would come and go. Not sure what that was ...maybe the plumbing? 2) House keeping didn't bring enough towels or replenish toiletries in the room. I called guest services 4 times to ask for more towels. I was told someone would bring them up...Never happened. 3) This location doesn't leave bottled water for coffee/drinking or do turndown service unlike other Fairmont hotels. 4) The valet was very slow. They took over 30 minutes to retrieve our vehicle. 5) The rooms/bathrooms are really old and outdated. The shower head is great if you're short and toilets are something you might see in an old gas station. 6) The hot rod car noises woke us up multiple times at night. Based on my experiences at other Fairmont locations, it appears the Dallas location is cutting corners at the expense of their guest. The one compliment they deserve is the front desk staff was very friendly and got us checked in and out quickly. read more

Very Disappointed - Unsafe Room & Poor Customer Service I was shocked and extremely disappointed by my recent stay at the Fairmont in Dallas for my 25th birthday. Upon entering my assigned room, I immediately noticed a strong musty smell. The room was full of black mold, the air was damp and heavy, the floor and bedding were moist, and the overall environment felt unsafe and unclean. When I brought this to the attention of the overnight front desk staff, she was not only dismissive but also very disrespectful--she didn't even offer an apology for such a serious issue. It took until the next morning, after speaking with a manager, to receive an apology. Unfortunately, the options given for compensation were not appropriate given the circumstances: either moving to another room (when we only had one night left) or "free valet parking" if we wanted to use it. Neither addressed the fact that we were placed in an uninhabitable, unsafe room in the first place. I expect much better from a hotel of this reputation. I left very dissatisfied, and I cannot recommend this property given the lack of care for guest health and well-being. read more

I was excited to stay at the Fairmont in Dallas however I did myself a disservice by not reading reviews before my stay..I wondered why it was so low in cost. Pros: Location Valet Staff and Concierge Cons: Everything else Hotel was dated. Fixtures worn out. The toilet looked like something you see in a public restroom. Had to request a refrigerator for the room only to find out that no one could bring it to the morning in which we were checking out. I was told to take the mini bar fridge items out but the fridge was only two sodas worth of depth, so it could not hold my leftover food from dinner. Everything was perfect at our stay at Fairmont Dallas! The service was amazing and we had a spectacular stay! The hotel was clean, the neighborhood was safe the staff was kind. The only downside was the valet was expensive but we parked at meters on the street. Also, unfortunately the pools are seasonal but the hospitality, luxury and location of the hotel made up for it. Our room smelled like weed to start. When we asked to move, they were unable to because the elevators were broken. There were people on our floors yelling at 4 in the morning. No water pressure in the showers, painfully slow elevators when they worked, and in general it is very rundown. The only reason we stayed here was because I had a $250 Fairmont gift card. I booked through the Fairmont website, but when I went to check out they wouldn't allow me to use the gift card. We will never stay here again. I would recommend you do the same. read more

I liked having a Starbucks and UPS store on property. We got in late and waited too long to get checked in. Ishmael took forever with the customer in front of us and someone came from the back and got through 3 customers. Sadly, Ishmael finished up just in time for me. We booked a double bed and ended up in a king. Went back downstairs and Ishmael was able. He requested evidence of the double bed- which I showed him. The rooms are pretty basic but I do love the fridge, coffee pot and tea kettle. We stayed for 5 days and it was a convenient location. Pricing was reasonable. Fairmont Dallas is conveniently located in the heart of Dallas. The hotel is just a 15 minute walk to the American Airlines Center and another 15-20 minutes away from the convention center. The downtown area is just a few blocks away so you're minutes away from restaurants and bars. The hotel interior is a bit outdated but still clean and comfortable. There's also a Starbucks located in the lobby which is another huge convenience. The bar/restaurant in the lobby is a nice perk as well. It's a decent bar/restaurant but there are too many local flavors to settle for the lobby bar. Besides the outdated interior, my other gripe is that WiFi is not free. They charge around $15 per day if you need WiFi in your room. I feel like WiFi is a pretty standard amenity these days. It's kind of ridiculous that you have to pay for WiFi when you're already paying upwards of $300 per night. read more

This hotel is a disgrace to the "Fairmont" brand. Very rarely do I feel compelled to write reviews. Either it's exceptional service, or exceptionally BAD. Look at the photos. Attached you will see: - abundance of dust (I am VERY allergic to dust) - a bathroom which makes high school toilets seem fancy - a tub that has more chips in the paint than a motel 8 Upon coming into the valet parking (which I prepaid), I waited in my car for 20 minutes while they cleared 3 cars from the queue. Inefficient but whatever, I'm sure the rooms are luxurious, right? Greeted at the check-in with great hospitality and a boxed water. So far so good. Enter the elevator.... Which has a TON of scratches in the wood and looked like a 1960s elevator. Maybe I booked a hotel with some history? It felt "run down" rather than "old school". Then....the room. Oh boy the room. COVERED in dust when I first came in. Like the room hadnt been cleaned (or used) in a month. Bed was made and everything - it was just covered in dust. Then, the bathroom. That toilet. Is it petty to see a toilet and think "wow this is not class at all"? Maybe. But like I said above - Fairmont as a brand meant something to me. "Class". "Luxury". Not "we couldn't afford a toilet". This trip was supposed to be a "treat yoself" moment for me at the end of the year, with some activities I had planned downtown then coming back into a luxury room. I spend as much time OUT of the room as I could. Breakfast the next morning was awful. Their 6$ "artisan coffee" could be beat by a Denny's coffee. They added 20% gratuity automatically. All in all - if you're looking for a quality hotel and something nice to treat yourself, please avoid this hotel. The free rides are a ride share scam, I'm not sure how the hotel manages to get you in an unmarked black suburban, for "free rides for wedding party" and upon arrival, the driver hassled us for money and said the ride wasn't free? Room amenities are weird. The hotel also didn't notify us that there was a parade in the area blocking off all streets for hours... creating an insane parking situation for wedding party members. read more

Fairmont Dallas is about 30 mins from DFW airport. My Uber ride at 10:30pm was about $40 + tip. Another option would be to take the DART orange tram and get off at Akard station for $3, but it takes an hour and 15 mins, trains at every 1/2 hour. There's a Starbucks downstairs and a 7 Eleven two blocks away. I stayed here a few times before the pandemic. Every time I stayed here for work has been great. No complaints. Only one working elevator in the place. Got to our room and the tv doesn't work (going in and out due to weak signal). We stayed on the 4th floor. Beautiful lobby & if you aren't staying in your room much... should be a good stay for you. We came for a one night staycation for Valentine's Day and it was anything but peaceful. read more
