Sweet and savory finger foods

Had tea time here! It was such a lovely experience for our group of 5. Tea options were yummy and a great assortment of finger foods. Highly recommend for a whimsical afternoon!

Incredibly gorgeous interior with the marble staircase, courtyard with fountain.. so much old world charm in general in a beautiful building. Very historic with a lovely outdoor courtyard. Our room (King bed) was simple but so cute -- picturesque headboard and cool art-deco style furniture. Everyone from the manager to the receptionists to the valet guys were all so sweet and kind (shoutout to the woman at the front desk who also has a Cane Corso)! We usually stay at Kimpton hotels due to their welcoming, flexible pet policy (since our dog is around 140lb). Lots of bars and restaurants across the street and within walking distance (just don't go to Pickleman's...). Specific Things To Note: *Onsite Dining: Cottonwood Room Lounge (upscale cocktail bar) + Committee Chophouse (steakhouse) *Resort-style outdoor pool and Pool Club *Complimentary Happy Hour (lobby - 5PM-6PM) *Fitness center has a Peloton w/ access to classes streamed from their NYC studio

Best hotel to stay at when I'm working in Omaha. Such amazing amenities that if I just want to relax and work in the hotel. Love that it's across the street from Powerlife for workout classes. Such amazing staff and facilities. Highly recommend and will be back again when I'm in town for work.

We made reservations, hotel is a little difficult to get to due to construction, but has parking or Valet service. Bar down stairs, and restaurants. located in central area of Omaha downtown, You can walk to several locations, bars, dispensories, shops....

The Cottonwood Hotel is a MUST SEE during the holidays! They completely deck out the hallways with Christmas trees, lights and so many photo ops. Loved the holiday bar pop-up as well! It was absolutely packed, and getting a drink took nearly an hour... but we all had so much fun. Wish there was more seating inside as well. Overall, we had a blast and would go again!

John Greisen was such an amazing server at the Pool Club. He went out of his way to make sure we had the best day and was even helping us out by taking group photos for my girls and I. We ADORED him and can't wait to come back because of his kindness and superb service!!!

The Holiday Hut is a staple during the holiday season in Omaha. Relative to my last visit, the Holiday Hut has made many improvements. The drink menu all looked delicious and the cocktails sounds very balanced. I had the frosty fir, which came in a cute ornament style glass and was a tasty drink. The decor was plentiful but very cute and there was plenty of seating. I would certainly recommend this as a holiday pop up bar in Blackstone!

The Cottonwood is undeniably gorgeous! Every aspect of the hotel, from the lobby, to the restaurants/bars, to the rooms is well-thought-out and impeccably designed. We stayed here for an overnight staycation, and we had a great time. We enjoyed a free spiked apple cider in the lobby before venturing to the Orleans Room for a drink and charcuterie. The charcuterie board was really good, but definitely needed more bread and/or crackers to match the amount of meat and cheese on the board. The location is perfectly placed near other Blackstone bars and restaurants.

Dates of stay: November 25 - 27 2024 I normally don't stay at IHG hotels, but the location and pictures (plus other Yelp reviews) really had me wanting to book this hotel! I had some points racked up that made the stay free, so I couldn't resist. The hotel is a wonderful combination of old-school touches and updates. We had Room 320, a King Studio Suite and it was very spacious, with a separate living room area past the bed. The bathroom had lots of room for the two of us to spread out as well, which was appreciated. However, the more time we spent in the room, the more the layout was off; the bed was closer to the door and while the one TV in the room was large, it wasn't quite big enough to really work in the sitting area--we had to crank up the sound to be able to hear anything from the couch! I suspect the layout is the way that it is because the only noise we heard in the room was from outside, having the bed further from the windows was to facilitate better sleep. Couple small problems in the bathroom: After checking in, I noticed that toilet handle appeared to be ready to fall off. I reported the issue via text as I had been sent a welcome text to inquire about our stay thus far. Timing was good since we were heading out for dinner and when we returned, the problem had been fixed! That is great, but I would have appreciated a notification (since I was communicating via text with the hotel already anyway) that I would have received a confirmation that the problem was resolved and know that we could return to the room without being interrupted later. Front desk and valet staff were great, though no one in the hotel had change for me to tip the valet on our way out and the QR code to leave an electronic tip had such a hefty fee (Really, $2 in fees to leave a $5 tip?) that I did not utilize it. Great gym, too!

We loved our stay here for one of our anniversary's! Free wine samples in the hallway... umm YES! The pool is so relaxing with the lounge chairs, big hot tub! The rooms are so clean and cute. And every inch of this hotel is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I've never met a Kimpton I didn't like! On my recent trip to Omaha, this hotel came recommended by a friend and I immediately knew it would be a win. I booked in for a Saturday-Monday and certainly enjoyed my two-night stay. The entry way, lobby area, and check-in space is all wonderfully decorated. Such a modern atmosphere, which is a surprise when you walk in because the building itself is old as told by the exterior. Everything is super tasteful, from the seating and book shelves wrapping either side of the fireplace, to the exquisite marble walls and staircase. Also big fan of all of the (real) plants. So many! Upon checking in, they gave me a brief and helpful rundown of the place, and let me know complimentary wine was provided until 6pm (I narrowly made it)! I grabbed a glass of cold, crisp sauv blanc from the stunning bar/restaurant area and brought it to my room to get settled in. Nothing but great things to say about this standard, king-bed room. Everything was extremely clean and tidy, the decor was unique, and the bathroom was so big. Love a good walk-in, glass shower. Feels luxurious. During my stay, my friend and I sat at the bar in the Orleans Room and had a delicious dinner, along with a few thoroughly enjoyable cocktails. The espresso martini was my favorite. Shout out to bartender Austin for the great hospitality. In the AM we had an equally great experience for breakfast in the other side of the space, which appears to be more like a cute cafe. All around great food and drinks. I also got use out of their large, very clean gym. Wishing it wasn't still freezing cold weather, as I'm sure their big outdoor pool is lovely in the summertime! I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Cottonwood next time I'm in Omaha!

I've experienced only the pool/bar so far and loved it all! My company rented the back room of the pool bar for a mixology class. We got 4 full size cocktails which were explained and made in front of us, and a token for a free cocktail to use then or save for later. The cocktails were all pretty out there, but taste wise were great and very different. I am a very basic girly/vodka drink person so I was sad I didn't get anything like that, but also had fun learning about a lot of liquors I don't know much about. The bartender did a great job and answered all of our questions well--he was very knowledgeable! The best part was the impressive charcuterie board complete with a seafood basket of crab legs, oysters, and shrimp!! So good!

Outdoor pool ‍ during the daytime! Dog friendly pool

I'm totally shocked that this place doesn't have five stars! It was one of the best experiences we had and completely unexpected in Nebraska! We stopped here on our the way home from our road trip to Denver! Being from Chicago I didn't have high expectations for the hotel scene in Nebraska. Well, I was wrong at least for the Cottonwood. The hotel was upscale and it felt more like a resort with a fantastic pool and drinks. We also loved that we could take our pup down to soak up the sun! The first night (bc we booked a second after we arrived ) we were so tired and sore from driving so we all ran up, changed into our suits and jumped into the pool! It was the perfect night cap after a long drive. We were supposed to head home in the morning but we all wanted a pool day so we decided to book another night. I'm so glad we did! After hanging at the pool we headed to the lobby for a wine tasting which was delicious! And it was kid friendly as they brought our daughter a plateful of goodies to enjoy! Food was great and my husband said the New Orleans Room cooked a damn good steak. I guess it compared to a Chicago steakhouse. Overall we really enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning!

From start to finish, the experience was excellent. The museum provided discounted tickets for our nonprofit group, communicated clearly throughout the planning process, and had a tour guide ready who found us right away. That level of organization and customer care made a big difference. The exhibit itself was powerful and deeply educational, highlighting the history of the Green Book and the realities African American travelers faced during segregation. Through artifacts, photographs, and personal stories, it sparked meaningful conversations--especially among our younger visitors. I also really appreciate the museum's intentionality around inclusivity and programming. You can feel that it's a space designed to educate and welcome a wide range of audiences. The museum itself is on the smaller side, with exhibits primarily on the lower level, which actually made it manageable for our group to move through at different paces. My kids love the super long train you can walk through and the nearby play area. Practical perks matter too--there's plenty of parking (a huge plus), and they even offer umbrella strollers to borrow, which is incredibly thoughtful for families. Overall, a meaningful, well-run experience that I would absolutely recommend--whether you're visiting on your own, with family, or as part of a group.
