Apparently everything is designed by the same guy who lives in Asia (Cambodia, maybe?) and studied fashion in Italy. The style is very eclectic, a little hippie and a little hipster with some Asian flair. I'll definitely be back when I don't have the Hubster waiting outside for me, his patience for my clothes shopping growing incredibly thin. I didn't buy anything this time around, having blown my budget elsewhere all over Montreal, but my friend bought a cute dress with an owl print on it. Everything looked to be about $45.

Well, not so much in the shoe department, as I still don't see a whole lot of size 11 shoes. It's the selection of Kipling purses. For a while, I have been longing for a purple Kipling purse. They are few and far between. I have a black one that I love. I managed to find a small purple one in Ottawa, which I adore. I found the same purple coloured Kipling purse at this store, but a bit larger. When I first saw it, I couldn't believe it. I held it and debated whether I wanted it. Rational me put it down and got on with my day. However, the day before I had to head home, I decided to stop by the store again. If this purple purse was there, it was meant to be mine. Otherwise, I would be okay if it went to a happy shopper to love. On Thursday, I arrived just before noon. It was there! It was mine! I now am the proud owner of two purple Kipling purses and am extremely happy. The cashier helping me out was great and friendly. She asked if I had a TJX Style card. I did and had it scanned. I paid using a debit card and all was well. The checkout area caters to both HomeSense and Marshalls. Another first was dropping by the women's washroom with a purchased item. I have rarely done it. However, since I had been out and about for at least a couple of hours, it was okay. I also wanted to declare this purse mine. The washroom was clean and spacious. It's in the far right corner of the store when you first walk in. There is plenty of parking in front of this store, both on Sunday and Thursday. I got spots pretty close to the main entrance. (257)

I walked into Kali by chance, and found a fantastic variety of new and "on sale" dresses and skirts. Great variety, reasonable prices--an average of $50 for new dresses, less for sales--and the saleswoman offered me sincere advice about what works for my body type. I purchased some classic organic cotton dresses, organic bamboo tops that were more "boho chic" and a few mini-skirts. My saleswoman is a green thumb, and told me that bamboo contributes towards cutting green house gases in the atmosphere--bamboo grows quickly and densely--and also allows for more sustainable land use in developing countries. Right on.

The fit is perfect (turns out I was the sample size!), the colours of blues, greens and browns different from my usual staples, and the style was also different for me. Incredible selection, even better customer service!…read more After a long hunt for the perfect (faux) fur winter hat, I finally found it at Cuir Mont Royal, along with a pair of great convertible winter mittens. I was so excited to finally find both of the items I was looking for, especially when I found out the reasonably priced accessories were also on promo. I started wearing the hat every day in the coldest month of winter. So, when I dropped it in the metro station and couldn't find it again, I was really upset, especially because I knew I'd bought the last one in the store. But Cuir Mont Royal saved the day! I messaged them on Instagram, and, within an hour, they'd responded that they would do everything they could to get me the same hat. Just two days later, they reached out to tell me they'd found it for me, and that they were reserving it for whenever I could come into the store. They were so kind, helpful, and attentive! Truly the kind of customer service you only find in a local business like this one. On top of it all, their selection is unmatched. They have a vast but curated selection of high-quality, stylish products for all budgets. They even have a selection of unique gifts that celebrate the culture of Montréal. I cannot thank them enough for keeping me warm (and fashionable) through the winter. This place is an absolute must for all your winter gear!

What absolutely beautiful clothing!…read more The pieces designed and produced right in the store are both classic and unique, well made and oh so totally Montreal - I am %100 saving up to buy a pretty summer dress/skirt from here. What I liked most about the dresses was not only their fit and fabric but I can just tell that they will be able to withstand the wear and tear that is inevitable for me when I spend all summer biking around Montreal. The space itself is cool and is host to a variety of events supporting local art and music. Big fan!

I love going into check out the store for great bargains on shoes, dresses and coats. Often you'll see an item online but you need to call to hold it. Or go into the store often immediately their pieces sell out so fast. After trying a few items on I could see what the hype was all about. Also as a tall woman of 6 feet I appreciate the length in their items and the great fit to my body. However, their is only a few changerooms which are usually full and taken when you go into the business. Also you are parked on the street at St. Laurent sometimes the parking can be difficult to find and task worthy to add more time to the meter while changing and trying on different outfits. The prices on some items are quite high but some of them are reasonable. Some people also try items on and wreck them. I fell in love with a pink coat and they would only give me 10 % off. I don't know how to sew so it wasn't worth it. Overall it is a definite try. The clothing is amazing and classy. Go and see for yourself.
