The main selection of the products available in the store are textile items, including brightly coloured kimonos in painted silk, kimono cover jackets in *exquisite* and finely detailed shibori patterns, all also silk. There are tabi socks, tamari balls made with finely wrapped string patterns, amazing traditional firemen's jackets, so many kinds of sculptural scarves, woven scarves, and many other types of cloth. There are select housewares as well, such as cast iron teapots, ceramics, traditional wooden dolls and masks, a few garden ornaments, and jewelry. The store owner and her one staff person were extremely informative about all of the items in the store, and it was easy to see that the owner of this store takes a great deal of pride in offering very choice, high quality Japanese goods. Now, perhaps you, dear reader are wondering about prices, with all that high quality. Surprisingly, things are very fairly and reasonably priced! I am very, very tempted to go for one of those shibori jackets, as I have never seen anything like them anywhere in Montreal, and being a textile artist, I can deeply appreciate the extreme labour and craftsmanship that has gone into making them. I'm pretty sure I need those cute tabi socks, too. Definitely worth dropping in for a visit, to meet the people behind the counter, and learn a few things about Japanese culture! Something beautiful might just steal your heart, too. Or, next time you need a *nice* gift for someone, I say get it here.

Evening wear, summer dresses, fur shawls, shoes, and ready-to-wear jewelry are constantly collected. Also, if you're looking for something in particular, do not be afraid to give them a ring or inquire via email - Ms. Elaine and the staff will write it down and have a look for you, whether from their inventory or from the new incoming items. A work event was coming up, so i was curious to see if they had a specific style of dress/size - if they don't have it, the store will keep looking. They also are willing to give you great recommendations! :D One thing I appreciate is that ERA really has a discerning eye - the qualities and the conditions of the pieces are immaculate - no holes, rips, stains, or wear are found here! I really like their variety of belts, the blouses, and the cute dresses with the pleated skirts. I'm surprised that there's no existing Yelp page for this store, as there are a few UCHUU sites in…read moreMontreal, and it's been around since 2016. It's a woman-owned, Montreal based brand that specializes in women's clothing and accessories. I've passed this shop on Greene quite a few times in the past, and my mother has often visited here with her friend over the past few years. Today was the first time I actually went inside and I was impressed by the pricing, as everything in the store was 60%! (It's not often I stumble upon a good sale like this!). I should note at the outset that this shop has only women's clothing and accessories (sorry, guys and kids!). Also, this shop doesn't have classic, traditional or basic clothing. Rather, everything here is trendy, funky, some borderline wacky (!), all fun, most unique, some "out there". Think purses made completely of faux fur with pom-pom zipper pulls, jackets covered with sequins in various colors and patterns, leather-like black jackets with tons of zippers, long and full red tuille skirts, groovy mini-dresses made of metal mesh and silver discs, and more, so much more. SO so fun and funky. Yet, yet.....in between all these wild fashions, there ARE some more ...."regular" fashion to be found. I saw a fabulous black pair of pants that were high-waisted with gold sailor buttons at the top and, wow, if I were younger and thinner, I'd get these in a heartbeat. They totally rocked, and were really well-made, too. They had a black swing top that I loved, and a silver belt with a retro/60's-esque modular belt buckle that was awesome. There was a rack at the back of more basic t-shirts and tops, tank tops to wear as base layers, and other foundation items (the clothes on this rack were the only items in the store that were not offered on their 60% off sale). They had lots of accessories that were cool (lots of big rings and hoop earrings, leather belts in various solid colors, hats, bling-ed out water bottles, and more). By the cash was a rack of scarves and most of these were amazing! Very graphic, some very colorful, all terrific! I found a few that I really loved and, being 60% off, what a steal! I got one for a friend's birthday that regularly cost $65 (and looked like it'd cost more, actually). I was thrilled with my find, and what a great deal. The lady working the cash was super nice and fun to talk to. This is such a fun and funky shop, and surprising to find, on posh Greene Avenue where usually the fashions in shops are more staid and traditional. Cool!
