Taylor is extremely talented in the fine arts she loves to draw. While my friends were sending their kids to test prep for High School entrance exams. I was searching for the perfect Art Studio and Mentor for my daughter to build her portfolio. Once her pieces were completed she then applied to her top 3 NYC DOE Specialty High Schools. Her 1st choice High School of Art & Design, 2nd Frank Sinatra & her 3rd choice was Laguardia High School. In March! We wouldn't know if she got in until mid June. In the meantime we applied to Saint Frances Preparatory School AP Art Honors Program with the same portfolio and she got accepted! I knew she was safe for her back up High School if she wasn't accepted. I have to say finding Rob Zeller at The Teaching Studios of Art was the best thing I ever did for Taylor. He helped her focus and taught her the techniques she needed to fine tune her portfolio. For her Still Life piece throughout the entire process from the Pencil Sketch to transforming it into the most amazing oil painting. On June 8th we were going to find out if she got accepted to one of her 3 choices. My husband and I were in suspense with Taylor as we were checking to see if she got in. I was an amazing feeling seeing that she got accepted to a Specialty High School in NYC. But, she got into her first choice High School of Art & Design in Manhattan! Honestly, if it wasn't for Robert Zeller and his Art Studio in The Village of Oyster Bay, who could say more! I don't know where we would be. We signed up for the In Person Private Art Classes. She had 1 on 1 teaching and loved being their to paint. I am extremely grateful that I found The Teaching Studios and proud of all that Taylor was accomplish with Rob by her side. I can't wait for them to start working on her college portfolio for The School of Visual Arts! I know she will get in with Rob as her Mentor. Thank you. He is excellent at assessing students strengths and weaknesses- the perfect combination to encourage and guide artists to their full potential. Small classes sizes enable Rob to devote personal attention to each student as he moves them to the next skill level. Personally, I have been taking classes here for number of years and am now in the Figurative Core Program. This traditional in-depth art program builds on drawing skills to move onto painting. Not only are we fine honing our abilities, Rob is also mentoring our personal projects and guiding us into being able to work independently.

Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time crafting (we chose stuffed animal puppies, complete with hearts, collars, and tshirts, as well as lava lip glosses). The store is gorgeous, clean and sophisticated, and the staff that helped the kids craft that day were friendly and knowledgeable. It was also great that the parking lot was nearby and covered (it was raining heavily that day - but we didn't get wet at all!) Our whole group was beginners and Jackie was such a warm and thoughtful teacher. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the calm of arranging flowers, learning the history behind Ikebana, and going home with our very own bouquet. Jackie works so hard all on the own, picking out the gorgeous flowers from the flower district and setting up the whole class. Would totally recommend for a rainy day or a unique hangout. 5 stars!!!

I hired Happy Little Brush Strokes as a painting activity for a bachelorette party, and the company was so easy to work with from start to finish. I reserved my date several months in advance because their calendar fills up quickly! You're able to choose one of the paintings from their website and adapt it to what you need. I chose to paint full-sized wine bottles (and place fairy lights inside of the bottle so it lights up!) since the bachelorette party was "wine themed." The price was $30 per person for the experience. I believe if you choose to paint a canvas, it's $25 per person. Happy Little Brush Strokes came all the way out to Greenport, Long Island to do this activity. The instructor, Bob, was an absolute delight, who was filled with so much positive energy! He provided everything we needed for the event (paint, brushes, water cups, the wine bottles, fairy lights). The only thing we needed to provide were tables, table cloths, and chairs for our group of 7. The experience took just over two hours, and everyone had an amazing time!

My husband John picked it up to buy it but it was not priced, so he set it down to find an employee to get a price. Commotion ensued. This employee started yelling across the store about someone touching/moving "her" John- to which my husband jokingly responded "I'm John!". He thought she was kidding. She wasn't. She was insane. She continued to berate him. And then me. We walked out.The manager followed us outside to see what was wrong. Then she followed. Still bitching. The manger had his answer. This woman was unhinged. Even her co-workers were embarrassed by her lack of decorum and display of blatant ignorance. As it turned out, the ornament wasn't for sale. We bought one for $10 on eBay the next day.
