When I go on vacation, I try to always buy myself a pair of earrings as a souvenir. This shop was…read morea last minute effort after not finding anything I was interested in at several other places. The shop has an excellent variety of jewelry and styles among their other offerings. I usually go for more bohemian or tribal style earrings, but the chandelier earrings I picked caught the light so beautifully I decided to go with them. My travel companion decided to buy me another pair of earrings that I'd looked at that were out of my price range and unlike anything I've really seen before (the photo doesn't do the colors justice). The shopkeeper was a lovely man who told us a bit about the history of the store, and I highly recommend going in to browse.

My five star rating is simply because during my at least two decades of shopping at GH I have…read morealways been treated in an exemplary fashion, even though all I purchase are casual coats and never any of the beautiful Italian suits. Wayne, Tom and especially Mitch have always been polite, respectful, helpful and never critical of my casual, unsophisticated--they might say crude--manner of dress, and they never try to nudge me into their pedigreed suits. Perhaps in part because of our shared Asian ancestry, Mitch has been extremely helpful in always finding the right coat, and Franco, the tailor, is most accommodating, swift and accurate in any adjustments required. At my age, eight y seven, I probably will never buy a suit, but I have asked my son to do so, and I am sure he will be perfectly serviced. I don't know why negative reviews show up, but I would suggest that the rudeness they perceive is simply their own unbridled narcissism projected upon a dignified, sinless staff, who seem to be quite forgiving of such entitlement.

We were having a great day shopping around and chatting when one employee came up to our group and made a sarcastic comment. My friends brushed him off and I didn't hear so he made sure to come up behind me and an inch away from my face loudly repeat it. I felt extremely unsafe with how he entered my personal space when I was distracted and my guard was down- I will never return to this store and urge other women to do the same.

On…read moreChristmas Eve, the owner denied me and my service animal entry, citing "too many bags and an aggressive dog." I had two shopping bags and my service animal, who has never exhibited any aggression. I understand that the store may have limited space. Had the owner respectfully asked me to leave my bags behind the counter or wait to enter due to crowding, I would have been happy to comply. Especially since I noticed another dog in the store. Instead, he dismissed me in a confrontational manner without offering any reasonable alternatives. Before leaving, I informed the employee that my dog is a service animal and that it is illegal to deny entry to customers with service animals. In response, he became defensive and raised his voice. As I exited the store, I overheard him telling other customers--who had witnessed the incident--that my dog was aggressive. This claim is completely false. My service animal has accompanied me for nearly a decade and has never once displayed aggression. It appears the owner discriminated against my service animal based on his perceived breed, as he is a pit mix. Such behavior is both unacceptable and unlawful, and I intend to hold this store accountable for this disgusting incident.
