Extremely disappointing experience. I brought my F250 to this shop for work that should have taken…read morearound 4 days, but they ended up keeping it for over a month. After waiting all that time, I finally picked the truck up, only for it to break down shortly afterward (within 15 miles) and have to be towed back to the shop. After they worked on it again, I picked it up a second time, and it broke down AGAIN (within 1 mile), requiring another tow back to their shop. Then to finally get it back, with the reason it went there in the first place, not being installed correctly. There is now diesel leaking from the hole they drilled in my tank, as well as the fuel tank hanger, hanging down, causing stress to the tank. The only thing I would say this shop did correctly, was replace my wheel liner after they installed it incorrectly in the first place, causing it to get run over. On top of everything else, my truck was left unlocked while it was in their possession. Leaving a customer's vehicle unsecured is completely unacceptable and only added to my concerns about how my truck was being handled while it was there. Having my truck for over a month for a job that should have taken a few days was already frustrating. Having it break down twice after picking it up, paying the price in lost time and dealing with two separate tows back to the shop, made the situation even worse. Reading the wonderful reviews, I was hopeful. I paid over $4,000 in labor for things not to be done correctly, two separate tow bills back to the shop and now having to pay another shop to fix ALL of their mess ups. After having the truck for that long, I expected the work to be completed correctly and the vehicle to be properly cared for while in their possession. Based on my experience, neither happened. I would not recommend this shop.

As a single woman with very little family, I struggle to find reliable help when I need it. Car…read morerepair is an area where anyone can be taken advantage of because it's often easy to fool people into spending too much by using the language of cars and their parts & functions. So, when my car wouldn't start as I was getting ready to leave home, I was understandably full of dread. I took a chance and called Norman Auto. I had recently seen an ad & remembered that they would come to you to fix your car. When I called, Lacey answered. I was almost in tears as I described how I was late for work and my car wouldn't start. She said "OK, we want to get you going as quickly and safely as we can." She asked me if anything was leaking or smoking since that was no and the car was cool from sitting overnight, she asked me to open the hood and see if anything looked suspicious. I don't know anything about cars but with her guidance I realized the battery was crusty but I was scared to touch it. She said Jason was close by and he would be there shortly....shortly was less than 10 minutes! I said did you fly here? He chuckled and said "No ma'am, but don't say that near my mother-in-law, she for some reason thinks I drive too fast!" We laughed and he got busy cleaning my terminals and my car started!!! We determined that I had bought the battery from a parts store with a warranty and that I could get a replacement for free! He followed me over there, waited until I got the new one. The store would have changed it but he waited anyway. He wanted to make sure it was in properly. When we finished and he was satisfied I was going to be safely on my way, we settled up. He charged me very little because he said he barely did anything and he was close by. I said you made me feel safe and that's worth more than can be charged. I sent him double his asking price because I wanted to. He earned something bigger that day. He earned a loyal customer. He also earned a cheerleader. Small efforts done with integrity and honest will can reap huge rewards. Anytime anyone mentions needing a mechanic, I immediately start singing his praises! I've kept it up too. When my car started to be less and less reliable, Jason has always been there to give me all my options, let me make my best informed decisions and honored them to a T. I recently purchased a newer vehicle and I took it straight to him to inspect. He definitely saved me from a couple duds! I know that when I need it, that I can confidently call and he will be there to help. He says he can't fly but somewhere I think he's hiding a dented and greasy floating circle hat in one of those tool boxes! (Ps. I know this review is dramatic but, we rise by lifting others ) Thank you Jason and Lacey Norman!

I am happy to say that the nice folks at Gerber Collison in Brunswick recommended Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto, in Brunswick. Years ago I had an older car towed to Bob. It needed a new fuel pump. I wasn't going to drop the gas tank on a gravel driveway. Bob called me up prior to replacing the pump. He informed me that the PCM (power control module, the main computer) was bad. And since that part wasn't available he suggested scraping the car. A Saturn station wagon with approximately 295,000 miles had served me well. Lots of other places would have been happy to charge me hundreds of dollars to replace the fuel pump and then call me with the bad news. I recommend Bob and his staff at Barnes Auto to anyone looking for an honest shop where INTEGRITY is more important than a making a quick dollar. Thank you very much Bob, Tammy and the techs in back.
