I regret to say my experience with Kimberley Harrison Interiors has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. I enter into a contract with her back in January 2024 and terminated it in May 2024 due to spending thousands of dollars and never receiving what was promised. It appears Kimberley Harrison is not a licensed designer since there is no license number on her website, and I was told by the CCIDC that she is not registered with them, California Council for Interior Design Certification. I called them and asked if they could help me, and they said they cannot since she isn't licensed. Unfortunately, in California interior designers are not required to be licensed. Unlike the California State Contractors Board, which mandates licensing and regulates contractors. I have learned from this experience that next time I will use a license interior designer that is registered with the CCIDC.
Kimberley Harrison Interiors firm never provided me with an Inspo/Mood board and no "Kick off Meeting" as promised in her contract. She states in her contract this is the launching pad for every new project. After receiving invoices of thousands of dollars for hours she said spent sourcing, I realized something was not right. During their many hours spent sourcing I liked less than half the items sourced. I do not care for marble, and she sent me items with marble. She said, "Oh, I didn't know you didn't care for marble". If she got to know me like her advertising flyers stated and had a "Kick off Meeting" to get to know me and how I plan to use my home space, she would have known. After months of waiting I still had no concept board or Inspo/mood board. I called a few other high end interior designers in S.F. and asked about how many hours it takes to do one of these boards. The range of hours was much lower than what I was being charged and I still have not received any design boards to show for all the money she charged me.
I was emailed furniture items they sourced which cost me thousands of dollars in sourcing time. I showed my attorney these items and he said, "Where is the cost of these furniture items?" Kimberley Harrison Interiors never provided any associated costs with the items she emailed me. She said the items were mostly to get an idea of the shapes I like. Really?
She also promised that I would be assigned one designer to my project, and it was Ally. I no direct communications with her during the last 3+ months. I learned in May she was taken off my project and moved to another project without any notice. Obviously, the other client took priority over my home project. Kimberley communication with me was done mostly through lengthy emails. Charging me at a high hourly rate is not an effective way to communicate design ideas. It was impossible to reach Kimberley by phone and hen I called I was a told she isn't available. Instead of a returned phone call I would get an email. The lack of communication, transparency, and professionalism has left me feeling frustrated and misled. I would not recommend her services. read more
