Happy Kim's Academy is part of "our village." Our son was in the 2nd grade, having a little trouble with his Math and reading comprehension. I looked around to find him some help. We did decided to give Kim's academy a try, since they offered a one on one setting. Christine answered all our questions, and worked around our busy schedules. The academy also offers home visits, but we thought it was best with a class room setting. Mr. Myron has been his tutor for some time now and our son looks forward to his tutor time. When my daughter was in 5th grade, her teacher flagged to me that she was falling behind standard in English and Math. I researched a number of options including the large commercial tutoring centers, but I really wanted something one-on-one and tailored specifically to her. I looked into Kim's Academy which was near our home. They did assessments and recommended tutoring for both math and English once a week in their studio. That was nearly 8 years ago. Over the years they have worked with us to find appropriate tutors and times that worked around our schedule. There have been a few times when I felt the tutor was not the right fit for my daughter and they promptly worked with us to find a more appropriate fit. My daughter will be graduating from high school in a couple of months, and while she discontinued English tutoring after middle school, she felt confident enough to take AP and honors English in high school. We have continued to have a tutor in math, and she is doing well in Pre-Calculus this year. Her math tutor is remote and so their sessions are virtual, but this has turned out to be a fantastic option for us the past couple of years as it gives us much more flexibility given her other extracurricular activities. I recommend that you contact them if you are looking for a tutoring option for your child, they do really care about your child doing well and succeeding. read more

Kim's Academy is great if you want your child to do extra work and worksheets. I have nothing bad to say about the actual tutors there. They were very kind and patient and earning their paycheck by showing up and doing what they are told. But the director was nothing short of a hard core salesperson trying to sell us more expensive sessions after our groupon ran out. It wasn't about the money for me, it was about the fact that she couldn't even remember my name or either of my kids names when she was referring to them. If that's the case, how could you possibly know them well enough to "assess" them? We had several conversations over the phone and even a few in person, and I never felt she knew for sure who she was talking about, just that they were in severe need of her help. Sad but true. I felt like my kids would be nothing but a number. I knew they needed help, that's why I went there. But her approach was callous, impersonal and talk about horrible customer service skills. Get your student names right, so I feel confident you are referring to MY children and you care about more than just collecting more $. I have since found a private tutor that I do pay more for, but at least I feel like I get what I'm paying for and she truly cares about their progress and about them as people. Not to mention they've made amazing strides! My recommendation, skip Kim's Academy & go to a more reputable establishment. Don't fall for the hard sales tactics - unless you like the used car salesman act. read more

This place has significantly helped my child Excel in his academics. He had been in this class for about a 2 years total and before was entered in this class he was a little under a average. Since he has been enrolled in this school he has been above his grade level and continues to get better by the day. They are very hands on and work with 2 or three kids at a time and help them understand Math, English literature, writing methods or anything you ask Them To work with your child on. They have a very excellent staff and several teachers/ students to work with your child and make him feel confident about his school work . You should see a difference in your child's academics within the first month. I love this place and will probably stick around forever !! Kim's Academy is a great place for your kid. I've known this place for years and so far it has yet to disappoint. My brother has been tutored here, and since he became enrolled his grades at regular school have improved visibly. Kim's academy is a great place for helping students to improve their grade. Christine helped me to select the best instructors in her center. I am happy with the tremendous improvement in my daughter's grade.
